# Open Threads and Adjacent Work ## Evidence gaps (found during the 2026-07-20 sweep) 1. **Christerson & Flory, *The Rise of Network Christianity*** — the strongest sociological source, cited only via research summary in [[Translocal Networking, Local Isolation]]. Full Readwise/Kindle ingest would harden the network-mechanics section. 2. **Wagner primary texts** — the wiki still lacks a direct Wagner ingest (*Spheres of Authority*, *Apostles Today*). **Partial progress 2026-08-16:** Wagner's own 2011 Charisma rebuttal, "[[3. Resources/Literature Notes/The New Apostolic Reformation Is Not a Cult|The New Apostolic Reformation Is Not a Cult]]," is now ingested and added to the guide page's "leaders in their own words" section — the first time Wagner speaks in his own voice there. **Major progress 2026-09-04:** four Wagner primary texts are now fully reviewed in-vault — [[4. Archives/Book reviews/Warfare Prayer|Warfare Prayer]], [[4. Archives/Book reviews/The New Apostolic Churches|The New Apostolic Churches]], [[4. Archives/Book reviews/Spiritual Warfare Strategy|Spiritual Warfare Strategy]] and [[4. Archives/Book reviews/Discover Your Spiritual Gifts|Discover Your Spiritual Gifts]] — with page/paragraph anchors that make quotations checkable. The first two are now on the guide page. Five Permanent notes were promoted from them, the strongest being [[3. Resources/Permanent Notes/Wagner Concedes No Explicit New Testament Mandate for Territorial Confrontation]] (*Warfare Prayer* p. 234). **Thread stays open but narrows:** the two titles this item originally named — *Spheres of Authority* and *Apostles Today* — are still un-ingested, and they are the two that speak most directly to apostolic governance rather than to warfare practice. 3. **No dedicated pages exist** for: spiritual covering (concept), shepherding movement, Jesus Movement, charismatic renewal, Third Wave. The entrance page routes around them via source notes; they remain the natural next concept pages. **Narrowed 2026-09-09:** two September sources now supply sourced genealogy for the shepherding and restorationist links, so these pages could be written from vault material rather than from scratch. John Cooper lays out a chain — Latter Rain → 1970s British restorationism (Arthur Wallis, Bryn Jones) → the shepherding movement (Fort Lauderdale Five, Derek Prince) → Watchman Nee's *Spiritual Authority* → Wagner's label → Ché Ahn out of Vineyard after Toronto — in [[3. Resources/Readwise/Articles/Skillet's John and Korey Cooper Break Their Silence About NAR & Church Abuse|the Childers interview]]. John Collins traces a partly overlapping three-stream account (Dowie; Latter Rain incl. Branham; charismatic networks via Wimber) in [[3. Resources/Readwise/Articles/What Is the New Apostolic Reformation The History Behind the NAR Revival Exposed 699|WBHR Ep. 699]]. Both are Tier 2/Tier 4 testimony rather than scholarship, and **they do not agree on emphasis** — Cooper routes through British restorationism, Collins through Dowie and the healing revivals. A concept page should present the overlap as the well-attested part and mark the divergence, not pick a winner. Christerson & Flory (item 1) remains the source that would settle it. 4. **AoG 1949 General Council minutes** — the condemnation is cited secondhand (discernment video). Primary text still needed. 5. **First-person accounts from the *soft* end** — no located exit testimony for DOVE/Overflow. Current first-person corpus over-represents hard-pole cases (Bethel, Potter's House, Harvest Rock); the page says so. 6. **Safeguarding-specialist literature** — the vault has cult-recovery (Hassan) and trauma (Winell) sources but nothing from institutional-safeguarding practice (e.g., GRACE-style church safeguarding standards). Weakest expert tier on the page. 7. **Full Roys Report / IHOPKC investigation series** — still un-ingested (open since 2026-05-28 in the MOC). ## Contested claims to keep watching - Feucht donor-fraud suit (motion stage as of 2026-06-26 note). **Update 2026-08-01:** the defence argues the donor lacks standing at all, via DAF routing (legal ownership passed to the fund at transfer) plus "association of churches" status raising a jurisdictional bar — without contesting misuse on the merits. Now abstracted as [[3. Resources/Permanent Notes/Structuring for Unaccountability Works Without Ever Denying the Allegation]]. Note carefully: this documents *structure*, not proven wrongdoing, and the allegation remains unadjudicated. - Ben Armstrong case status (on leave Feb 2026; *Unpunishable* reassessment note tracks it). - **Cooper/Skillet network claims (added 2026-09-09).** In the Childers interview the Coopers state that roughly 40% of the congregation has left, that upwards of 100 people allege spiritual abuse, and that a third-party firm *the apostle himself hired* reported a "longstanding pattern of abuse" about six months ago and recommended he step down permanently. **None of this is independently verifiable from the interview.** The two documents that would settle it — the third-party report and the apostle's elders-only paper on apostolic authority — are not public; the paper is described as leaked but is not reproduced. Treat as a first-person allegation of high research value and low citability. The network and the apostle are not named here on purpose: the accused is a private individual and a family member of the witnesses, and naming adds nothing the structural claim needs. If the report ever becomes public this moves tiers immediately. - Charismania/WBHR genealogical claims (Parham, Klan links) — single-network polemic; kept off the entrance page. **Re-examined 2026-08-01 and the decision holds.** A deep read of WBHR's Roy E. Davis episode (Branham's mentor; Klan organizer who moved the fee/pyramid model into revival religion after the 1915 Klan collapsed) found the *method-transmission* claim well-shaped but the evidence not entrance-page grade: figures given from recall, no documents shown, and the through-line to the present-day NAR asserted rather than traced through named intermediaries. The portable idea was abstracted as [[3. Resources/Permanent Notes/Extractive Techniques Outlive the Movements That Develop Them]], which stands on the documented Davis-to-Branham link and does **not** rest on the NAR extension. Two concrete verification targets if this is ever reopened: (a) the **July 1923 Macon, Georgia** article on Davis's "dual life," which the researcher says he obtained by contacting the newspaper directly because *it is not on newspapers.com* — a reminder that a null search in a digitised archive is evidence about the archive; (b) the **1950 *Voice of Healing*** article in which Davis reportedly contradicts Branham's own account of entering ministry. Either would move this from polemic toward citable. ## Adjacent work worth doing (not done in this task) 1. **Spiritual covering concept page** — highest-value missing node; the entrance page and three source notes would link it immediately. 1b. **Consider adding the "authority, not doctrine" diagnostic to the guide page's evaluation section** (proposed 2026-09-09, not yet done — Courtney's call). Collins's most exportable claim in Ep. 699 is that *authority structure*, not doctrine or membership, is the reliable test for NAR influence: if a ministry claims a modern apostle whose authority sits over doctrine and scripture, that is the marker, regardless of vocabulary or self-description. It complements the existing eleven questions because it survives the label problem the page already documents — a church that denies the term still has a governance chart. McKinnon's Ep. 696 supplies the matching safeguard framing (a ministry that cannot be questioned cannot be safe) with scripture attached (Acts 17:11; 1 Thess 5:21; 1 John 4:1; Gal 2:11–14; Prov 27:5–6). Both are Tier 4 commentary, so the page would need to carry the claim on its own logic rather than on the speakers' authority. 2. **A printable one-page "church evaluation worksheet"** — the 11 questions + evidence tiers as a standalone checklist for sharing outside the vault (would need the privacy pass from [[decisions-and-terminology]]). 3. **A conversation-guide note per persona** (parent/spouse/friend/member/leader-track) expanding the five openers with follow-ups and failure modes. 4. **Historical timeline page** (`timelines/` is empty in the theology wiki) — Azusa → Latter Rain → healing revivals → charismatic renewal → shepherding → Third Wave → KC Prophets → NAR, with influence-vs-continuity edges drawn explicitly. 5. **Glossary note** — covering, alignment, impartation, activation, mantle, decree, apostolic center, ekklesia — one-line plain-language definitions with links. 6. **Worship-money flow diagram** — CCLI royalty path from a local congregation to source churches; the CCLI concept page has the data. ## Publication path (if ever) The page is written to be publishable-with-edits: strip local-church dossier links, keep the framework. See privacy decisions in [[decisions-and-terminology]].
