# Lint 2026-07-19
**Scope:** full wiki pass (295 pages) following the six-page Chambersburg-landscape ingest. **Read-only; no fixes applied.** Resolution is vault-wide by filename stem, full path, or alias (31,170 resolvable targets), per the 2026-07-14 re-scoping; `Lint *`/`log` meta-files excluded from dead-link counting.
## Method note (correction to first run)
The first pass reported 173 dead targets — inflated by a false-positive class: **path-style wikilinks** (`3. Resources/Permanent Notes/…`, `2. Areas/Sermon Notes/…`, `1. Projects/llm-wiki-theology/wiki/concepts/…`) resolve by full path in Obsidian but the first resolver indexed basenames only. Re-run with path resolution: **70 unique dead targets / 154 refs**. Any future lint must index full vault-relative paths alongside stems and aliases.
## Today's six new pages — verdict
| Page | Result |
|---|---|
| entities/dove-international.md | 1 dangling: `Lateral Transfer Risk` — **intentional** next-build concept target (shared with the Welton source page) |
| entities/overflow-community-church.md | Clean — all links resolve |
| entities/world-harvest-outreach.md | Clean — all links resolve |
| entities/oasis-of-love.md | Clean — all links resolve |
| entities/living-faith-chapel.md | Clean — all links resolve |
| concepts/translocal-networking-local-isolation.md | Clean — all links resolve (alias-resolved inbound links from the five entity pages confirmed) |
The alias-disambiguation strategy on `world-harvest-outreach.md` worked as intended: bare `World Harvest Outreach` still resolves to the Religious Research master note; `World Harvest Outreach (Chambersburg)` resolves to the wiki entity.
## Dead links: 70 unique / 154 refs
Nearly all are the **pre-existing future-stub backlog** — historical/person targets awaiting pages (William Branham 15 refs, William J. Seymour 7, Paul Cain 6, Lonnie Frisbee 4, Pete Enns 4, Chris Coons 4; Catholic-social-doctrine set: Fratelli Tutti 5, Laudato Si' 5, Rerum Novarum 4; plus ~50 single-ref targets, many in `index.md`).
**Highest-leverage fixes (aliases, not new pages):**
1. `2026-05-19 Bethel's Book Platformed a Wolf` — **8 refs** dead because links use a display-title form matching neither the filename (`2026-05-19-bethels-book-platformed-a-wolf-video`) nor any alias. One `aliases:` addition clears all 8.
2. `NAR` (3 refs) + `New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)` (1 ref) — add both as aliases on `concepts/new-apostolic-reformation.md` → clears 4.
3. `3. Resources/Permanent Notes/Three Traditions Diagnose the Same Contemporary Externalization of the Spiritual` (1 ref) — typo'd near-miss of the existing "Three Christian Traditions Name the Same Spiritual Hazard…" note; fix the link in `sources/2026-05-24-magnifica-humanitas-leo-xiv.md`.
4. `Spirit of the Disciplines` (1 ref) — malformed partial path in `concepts/spiritual-disciplines.md`.
5. `coercive-control` (1 ref) — a tag written as a wikilink in `sources/2026-07-07-bethel-layoffs-ndas-tpt-censorship.md`.
Applying items 1–2 alone: 70 → 66 unique, 154 → 142 refs.
## Orphans: 7
- `entities/danny-silk.md` and `entities/brian-simmons.md` — the known both-ends defect: no `aliases:` field, and inbound `Danny Silk` links resolve to `3. Resources/Authors/Danny Silk.md` instead. **Caution:** adding alias "Danny Silk" to the wiki entity would create a duplicate-name ambiguity with the Authors note — decide which is canonical before fixing.
- `sources/1978-celebration-of-discipline-foster.md`, `sources/2015-05-24-laudato-si-francis.md`, `sources/2020-10-03-fratelli-tutti-francis.md`, `sources/2023-russell-moore-losing-our-religion.md` — inbound links to these exist but use the pathed `1. Projects/llm-wiki-theology/wiki/sources/…` form or point from pages linking their dead display-titles; adding aliases matching their `title:` fields clears them.
- `sources/2026-04-12-st-johns-ucc-holy-humor-thomas-sunday.md` — genuinely unlinked; needs an inbound link from `index.md` or the St. John's entity page.
## Frontmatter: 21 pages missing `aliases:`
Concepts (10): personalism, darvo, deconstruction, subsidiarity, pentecostalism, eschatology, koinonia, hillsongization, dominionism, theodicy. Sources (7): incl. `2026-05-19-bethels-book-platformed-a-wolf-video.md` (the 8-ref fix above), `research-world-harvest-outreach-nar.md`. Entities (4): danny-silk, hillsong, ihopkc, brian-simmons.
Since Obsidian resolves by filename or alias — never `title:` — every kebab-case page without aliases is invisible to natural-title wikilinks. A single batch pass adding `aliases: [Title Case Name]` to these 21 pages is the highest-value maintenance action available; it would clear most of the orphan list and a meaningful slice of the dead-link refs (e.g., `DARVO` currently resolves only because other vault files carry that name).
## Comparison to 2026-07-14
Dead links 203 refs → 154 refs (this run's path-resolution correction accounts for most of the difference; ~12 new refs added by the 2026-07-19 ingest, all resolving except the intentional Lateral Transfer Risk target). Orphans 8 → 7. Frontmatter issues 2 → 21 (07-14 counted only malformed frontmatter; this run also flags missing `aliases:`, per its own root-cause finding).
## Recommended next actions (not applied)
1. Batch-add `aliases:` to the 21 flagged pages (with the Danny Silk canonical-page decision made first).
2. Fix the two malformed links (items 3–4 above) and the tag-as-link (item 5).
3. Build the two dangling concept targets already on the roadmap: `Lateral Transfer Risk`, `Hermeneutical Genealogy` — together they'd clear 3 refs and complete the taxonomy's pedagogical frame.
4. Add an index/entity inbound link for the Holy Humor sermon source page.

## Addendum — Batch alias pass APPLIED (2026-07-19, same day)
The recommended batch (`aliases:` on the 21 flagged pages) was applied after the read-only report above, at Courtney's direction. Post-pass totals: **dead links 70 → 65 unique / 154 → 137 refs; frontmatter-missing 21 → 7.**
**Aliases added (14 pages):** concepts — personalism, darvo ("DARVO"), deconstruction, subsidiarity, pentecostalism, eschatology, koinonia, hillsongization, dominionism, theodicy; entities — hillsong, ihopkc ("IHOPKC"); sources — research-world-harvest-outreach-nar ("Research – World Harvest Outreach NAR"; the full title was NOT used as an alias because the Religious Research WHO master note already carries it as an alias — duplicating it would create ambiguity), and 2026-05-19-bethels-book-platformed-a-wolf-video (aliases "2026-05-19 Bethel's Book Platformed a Wolf" — clearing the 8-ref dead target — plus the full title).
**Collision-skipped (7 pages, intentionally left without aliases):** five source pages whose `title:` exactly matches Readwise article/podcast filenames (assemblies-of-god-1949, leaving-the-message-apostles-prophets-spiritual-covering, hidden-ladder-modern-apostasy, bethel-alumni-passion-translation, how-to-stay-christian-russell-moore) — adding those titles as aliases would create duplicate-name ambiguity with the Readwise files; and `entities/danny-silk.md` + `entities/brian-simmons.md`, which collide with `3. Resources/Authors/` notes of the same names. These seven need a canonical-page decision before aliasing; they remain the residual frontmatter list.
**Tooling incident (fixed):** the batch script mishandled YAML folded-scalar titles (`title: >-`), inserting the aliases block between the key and its continuation lines and corrupting frontmatter on the two source pages that use that form. Both were repaired in the same session by converting to single-line quoted titles; verified parsing cleanly. **Rule for future batch edits:** detect `>-`/`|` block scalars before inserting adjacent keys, and prefer converting folded titles to quoted single-line form.
Remaining recommended actions from the report (unchanged): the two malformed links + tag-as-link fix; the Danny Silk / Brian Simmons canonical decisions; the `Lateral Transfer Risk` and `Hermeneutical Genealogy` concept builds; the Holy Humor orphan inbound link.
---
## Addendum 2 — Remaining recommended actions APPLIED (2026-07-19, same day)
All four residual items from the report were executed at Courtney's direction. Final totals: **dead links 56 unique / 125 refs** (from 70/154 at report time); orphan fixes for danny-silk, brian-simmons, and the Holy Humor source page.
**1. Danny Silk / Brian Simmons canonical decision — resolved as a split.** The vault-wide hub notes in `3. Resources/Authors/` remain canonical for bare `Danny Silk` / `Brian Simmons` links; **wiki-internal links now target the wiki entities** via unambiguous stem links (`Danny Silk`, `Brian Simmons`). 25 links retargeted across 20 content pages (including `index.md`; `log.md` and Lint history left untouched). Both entity pages carry a "Canonical-page split" callout documenting the convention, and both intentionally remain without name aliases. Orphan status cleared for both.
**2. Malformed links fixed (3).** (a) The "Three Traditions Diagnose…" link in `sources/2026-05-24-magnifica-humanitas-leo-xiv.md` corrected to the real Permanent Note ("Three Christian Traditions Name the Same Spiritual Hazard – Externalizing the Source of Meaning"). (b) `Spirit of the Disciplines` in `concepts/spiritual-disciplines.md` — the target does not exist in Readwise; converted to a clean future-stub `The Spirit of the Disciplines` (remains a deliberate dangling target, now in proper form). (c) The `coercive-control` wikilink in the Bethel-layoffs source (piped form) converted to plain text.
**3. Both roadmap concept pages built.** `concepts/lateral-transfer-risk.md` and `concepts/hermeneutical-genealogy.md` — the taxonomy §J pedagogical pair, with aliases matching the long-standing dangling link forms, clearing the `Lateral Transfer Risk` refs here and resolving the `Hermeneutical Genealogy` / `Lateral Transfer Risk` links in the Religious Research notes vault-wide. Each carries the audit-questions / method sections used by the sermon rubric and Bible-study template, cross-indexed to DOVE, WHO, Welton, THM, and BDFL cases.
**4. Holy Humor orphan cleared** — indexed in `index.md` alongside the other St. John's sermon-source entries.
**Remaining known-dead targets (56)** are now entirely the intentional future-stub backlog (persons: William Branham 15, William J. Seymour 7, Paul Cain 6, etc.; Catholic-social-doctrine set; single-ref index stubs) plus the reformed `The Spirit of the Disciplines` stub. Residual frontmatter list: the 5 Readwise-title-collision source pages (aliasing deferred by design).
