# 3D Printing Wiki
Lab notebook for the printer(s), filaments, slicer profiles, and what I'm actually making.
## Inventory
- [ ] Printer(s): _(model, bed size, hotend, firmware, mods)_
- [ ] Filament stash: _(brand, material, color, diameter, moisture state)_
- [ ] Nozzles + sizes on hand
- [ ] Slicer(s): _(OrcaSlicer / PrusaSlicer / Bambu Studio / Cura)_
## Slicer profiles
_(One note per material × nozzle combo. Temps, speed, retraction, pressure advance.)_
- [[Profile - PLA 0.4mm]]
- [[Profile - PETG 0.4mm]]
- [[Profile - TPU 0.4mm]]
## Calibration log
- [ ] First-layer squish dialed
- [ ] Flow / extrusion multiplier
- [ ] Pressure advance / linear advance per filament
- [ ] Temp tower results per spool
- [ ] Retraction tuning
## Print log
_(Date, model, filament, result, lessons.)_
## Modeling stack
- Fusion 360 / Onshape / FreeCAD / Tinkercad — pick your defaults
- OpenSCAD for parametric utility parts
- Blender for organic / display pieces
## Recurring gotchas
- Wet filament → stringing + pops. Dry before blaming the printer.
- Bed adhesion: clean the sheet, don't rely on glue forever.
- Z-seam placement affects visible quality more than nozzle size.
- Cooling: under-cooled PLA bridges sag; over-cooled PETG layer-separates.
## Projects / ideas
- [ ] Garden: seed-starter trays, drip emitters, trellis clips
- [ ] AV: pedalboard cable clips, mic stand adapters
- [ ] Home: drawer organizers, cable management
- [ ] Cricut/crafting: jigs, alignment tools

## Open questions
- Worth an enclosure for ABS/ASA?
- Multi-material: AMS-class system or manual swaps?
- Resin for specific use cases, or stay FDM-only?
