Does it feel different if others get the recognition I deserve? When you feel invisible and unheard, invalidated, etc. you attitude changes. You guard yourself and hold back. Why give our best if it isn‘t rewarded? [John 1:35-40](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/JHN.1.35-40) [[Bible/AMP/John/John 1#36|J ohn 1,39-44]] and he looked at Jesus as He walked along, and said, "Look! The Lamb of God!" The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. And Jesus turned and saw them following Him, and asked them, **"What do you want?"** They answered Him, "Rabbi **(**which translated means Teacher**)**, where are You staying?" He said to them, **"Come, and you will see."** So they went [with Him] and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard what John said and [as a result] followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first looked for _and_ found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah" **(**which translated means the Christ**)**. Where is his brother? [John 3:27](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/JHN.3.27) [[Bible/AMP/John/John 3#27|John 3.31]] John replied, "A man can receive nothing [he can claim nothing at all] unless it has been granted to him from heaven [for there is no other source than the sovereign will of God]. [[Bible/AMP/John/John 3#30|John 3.34]] He must increase [in prominence], but I must decrease. Am I willing to be overshadowed by Jesus? Are you willing to let God work through you and serve through your life? We want attention, validation, and affirmation. When these things become our goal vs God and what He‘s called us to do, they become wrong. Sin is a desire to do what we want vs what God wants. [John 1:29](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/JHN.1.29) [John 1:36](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/JHN.1.36) People wanted to give gifts to God. What they had was farms and flocks. [John 1:41-42](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/JHN.1.41-42) “He *found first his own brother Simon and *said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. We don‘t have to worry about being noticed. Share in the shadows. Are you willing to live and work there? Give what you receive. Who‘s recognition are you working for? Jesus is the light. He is the hope, joy, peace. I don‘t want people to see me as the light, but to reflect Him. Serve in the shadows. Andrew was a church planter and trainer. He started churches across the southern portion of Asia. Odessa, Erpha, modern day Turkey. He was taken captive and crucify him like Jesus. I am not worthy to be crucified the way Jesus was. They used an X shaped. Be a good steward of what God has entrusted you with. Parable of the talents. Serving in the shadows means you‘re the unseen shoulders others stand on.
