[Isaiah 7:2](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.2) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 7#2|Isa 7.2]] When the house of David (Judah) was told, "Aram is allied with Ephraim (Israel)," the hearts of Ahaz and his people trembled as the trees of the forest tremble in the wind. In trouble - where do you turn? Self or others? Self medicating behaviors, relationships, hobby, anger, [Isaiah 8:21-22](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.8.21-22) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 8#20|Isa 8,21-22]] [Direct those people] to the law and to the testimony! If their teachings are not in accord with this word, it is because they have no dawn. They [who consult mediums and soothsayers] will pass through the land deeply distressed and hungry, and when they are hungry, they will become enraged and will curse their king and their God as they look upward. [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 8#21|]] It gets dark and hopeless. What do you do after being shaken and in distress? [Isaiah 7:10-11](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.10-11) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 7#The Child Immanuel|Isa 7,10-11]] Then the LORD spoke again to [King] Ahaz, saying, [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 7#10|]] God wants Ahaz to ask for a sign and Ahaz said no, I donβ€˜t even have enough faith for that. Can you turn to God and say help? [Isaiah 7:14](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.14) [[Bible/NASB/Isaiah/Isa 7#14|Isa 7.15]] Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. Everything went dark and hopeless. [Isaiah 9:1-2](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.9.1-2) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 9#1|Isa 9,1-2]] But there will be no _more_ gloom for her who was in anguish [for with judgment comes the promise of salvation]. In earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He will make them honored [by the presence of the Messiah], by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness Will see a great Light; Those who live in the dark land, The Light will shine on them. [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 9#2|]] God saw us unsettled and in trouble. He didnβ€˜t send a miracle and more words (bible), commands, religion. Hope in the promise that God always shows up. [Isaiah 7:4](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.4) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 7#4|Isa 7.4]] and say to him, 'Take care and be calm, do not fear and be weak-hearted because of these two stumps of smoldering logs, on account of the fierce anger of [King] Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah (Pekah, usurper of the throne of Israel). We are spiritual shaken to the core because we stand upon sand vs a rock. Sin is the foundation of sand that washes us away. It takes the foundation out of our thinking, decision making, desires what is good and best. **But God** [Isa 7:14](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.14) [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 7#14|Isa 7.15]] Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will call his name Immanuel (God with us). On Easter we celebrate that he came back to life to give us new and forever life. Walk through the story of God interacting with us. Receive the promised king. When things feel unsettled, God doesnβ€˜t give religion. He became one of us. Put your hope in Godβ€˜s promised presence. [Isaiah 8:9-10](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.8.9-10) [[Bible/CJB/Isaiah/Isa 8#10|Isa 8,9-10]] devise a plan, but it will come to nothing; say anything you like, but it won't happen; because God is with us . For this is what _Adonai_ said to me, speaking with a strong hand, warning me not to live the way this people does: [[Bible/CJB/Isaiah/Isa 8#11|]] My hope is not in my ability, but in Godβ€˜s presence. We donβ€˜t believe in an empty God. We donβ€˜t believe in a mystical made up religion. [Isaiah 8:11-14](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.8.11-14) [[Bible/NASB/Isaiah/Isa 8#10|Isa 8,11-14]] "Devise a plan, but it will be thwarted; State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God is with us." For thus the LORD spoke to me with mighty power and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying, "You are not to say, '_It is_ a conspiracy!' In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of _it_. "It is the LORD of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, And He shall be your dread. [[Bible/NASB/Isaiah/Isa 8#11|]] [[Bible/NASB/Isaiah/Isa 8#12|]] [[Bible/NASB/Isaiah/Isa 8#13|]] Put more fear in God over headlines. Find peace, sanctuary, and hope in Godβ€˜s presence. Donβ€˜t be caught up in circumstances that shake you. Be anchored in His presence. Fear nothing else. Hope drives out fear. When you hope in Godβ€˜s presence, you fear nothing else. I have hope in the nearness of God. My hope in God means I donβ€˜t have to fear anything else. [Isaiah 7:4](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.7.4) [Isaiah 8:16-17](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.8.16-17) Wait, trust, hope. When you hope in Godβ€˜s promises, you trust His timing. You donβ€˜t want right now what God wants to give you later. The grace of God is in the waiting. The grace of God is in the right timing. He will help us live out His purposes for our lives. If we demanded and received what is to come later right now, we would ruin it. What has you shaken? The answer isnβ€˜t just a miracle or religion. The answer is His presence in our lives.
