What is the answer to this God story?
Prophecy - foretelling what God is going to do through a spokesperson in a specific context.
Isaiah lives in the southern portion of Israel - in Judah 20 yrs after Israel was conquered.
Uziah may have invented catapults. A great military leader dies and nations rally to wipe out Judah.
Whatever you grab on to, if it isnβt God itβll leave you worse than before.
[Isaiah 8:22](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.8.22)
[[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 8#22|Isa 8.23]] Then they will look to the earth, they will see only distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and _they will be_ driven away into darkness _and_ overwhelming night.
No matter how bad of a mess youβve gotten into, there will be no more gloom.
Out of context these verses sound like an ornament on a Christmasβ tree. A nation in fear and worried out of their minds.
[Isaiah 9:6-7](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/ISA.9.6-7)
[[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 9#6|Isa 9,6-7]] For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace, [He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this. [[Bible/AMP/Isaiah/Isa 9#7|]]
There is a promise that a day would come when a son would be born. Not a king to reign, but a promised messiah. He would sit upon Davidβs throne - wonderful God, mighty counselor, prince of peace.
Let Godβs promised peace rule your heart.
God speaks, steps in, and saves the day. He wants his peace to rule over our heart. Jesus steps in to save the day and fight the dragon of our sin and death.
Christmas was for Good Friday and Easter.
When we believe in him by faith, we receive the prince of peace. We welcome the rule of the promised peace.
Even after accepting Jesus initially, you can still choose to live in worry. Trust in Wonderful counselor . Of the greatness of his government and peace, there will be no end.
We are challenged and invited to welcome the reign of the prince of peace.
Welcome the reign of the prince of peace.

Is God sitting as king of my life?
Our greatest turmoil comes when we do not have peace with God. We believe he paid the penalty for our peace.
Kingdom of peace
[Luke 2:14](https://www.bible.com/bible/8/LUK.2.14)
[[Bible/AMP/Luke/Luke 2#14|Luke 2.14]] "Glory to God in the highest [heaven], And on earth peace among men with whom He is well-pleased."
Where do I need peace right now? I can have it.
Experience the peace of God.
Nothing else can mimic or fake it.
What do you use to numb the worries? It isnβt a long term fit. Substance, entertainment.
Face the worries head on and give them to Jesus.
Bring the anxieties and tell him what is going on. Invite him into those circumstances.
Get under the surface and look at why it is worrying. Lay it out as if he is a counselor and he will always be there for us. He will wash his peace over us.
What troubles or worries are weighing on my heart? What keeps me anxious at night? Allow Jesus to rule.
