# πŸ™ Sermon Notes - Untitled 12 ## πŸŽ™ Speaker: speaker - What is the background of the speaker? ## πŸ“… Date: 2024 January 14 Sunday - What is the significance of today's date in relation to the sermon? ## πŸ“ Location: Lifehouse Church - How does the location influence the context of the sermon? ## πŸ“œ Title: Be Still - What initial thoughts or expectations do I have about this topic? How do I respond to the cleaning and cutting? In the places in my life where others canβ€˜t see? Where does my mind need to be cleaned and trimmed? Jesus taught on this. Jesus washed their feet. He cleaned the dirt off their feet. This was just before communion. John 15:1-3. John 15,1-4 "I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every _branch_ that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] **prunes, so that it will bear more fruit** [even richer and finer fruit]. You are already clean because of the word which I have given you [the teachings which I have discussed with you]. Remain in Me, and I [will remain] **in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you** [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] **unless you remain in Me.** 15#215#315#4 Trust God is at work in your life. Wine was a cleansing agent and a key liquid for every meal. The branches and grapes were vital. It being dead is why it produces no grapes. An arborist prunes the dead branches. You can wither on the vine if you arenβ€˜t careful. If there is a lack of fruit, it is an indication of dead spirituality. If you arenβ€˜t producing, you likely arenβ€˜t connected. What was dead and cut off brings new life. John 15:2 John 15.2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every _branch_ that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] **prunes, so that it will bear more fruit** [even richer and finer fruit]. There is a lot happening and even the good growth needs to be pruned for the great to be sustained. We arenβ€˜t good at seeing what needs to be trimmed from our lives. (bangs) Distractions are excess that keeps us from our destiny. What leaves are hindering grapes? God the good gardener is pruning away. Trust Him. Being stripped back to basics. John 15.3 You are already clean because of the word which I have given you [the teachings which I have discussed with you]. Pruned and cleaned mean the same thing here. Lifts up, ties up, and cleans up the branch. Welcome His cleaning and cleansing work. Where are you feeling His is working? John 15.4 Remain in Me, and I [will remain] **in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you** [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] **unless you remain in Me.** This work is both preparation and a promis. Godβ€˜s work in you is both preparation and a promise.
