## ๐ Main Content
Gravity SMTP is a WordPress email delivery plugin available free with Gravity Forms developer, elite, and nonprofit licenses. The plugin addresses the critical challenge of ensuring transactional emails reach their intended recipients by routing WordPress emails through reliable SMTP services.
The core value proposition centers on email deliverability for business-critical communications like purchase receipts, user registrations, and contact form submissions. Unlike WordPress's default mail function, SMTP routing provides authentication and reputation management that improves inbox placement rates.
The plugin includes comprehensive logging and monitoring tools within the WordPress dashboard, allowing site administrators to track email status, debug failures, and resend messages. A notable feature is the primary/backup SMTP configuration that provides automatic failover between different email services.

**Gravity SMTP: Professional Email Delivery for WordPress Sites**
Gravity Forms released their SMTP plugin free for developer+ license holders, solving a critical challenge many WordPress sites face: ensuring important emails actually reach their destination.
The plugin transforms WordPress email delivery by routing messages through professional SMTP services instead of unreliable server mail functions. This means your contact form submissions, purchase receipts, and user registration emails have a much better chance of landing in inboxes rather than spam folders.
What makes this particularly valuable for agencies and freelancers is the comprehensive monitoring dashboard. You can see at a glance which emails succeeded or failed, debug blocked messages, and even set up automatic failover between different email services. The test email tool alone will save hours of troubleshooting time.
For mission-critical sites running e-commerce, memberships, or donations, the primary/backup SMTP configuration provides peace of mind. If your main email service has issues, the system automatically switches to your backup provider.

[00:00] Hey, it's Matt from gravityiforms.com. I
[00:02] want to talk about five amazing things
[00:03] about Gravity SMTP. Today, maybe six. I
[00:06] got a little bonus that I'll throw in at
[00:08] the end. If you don't know, Gravity SMTP
[00:09] is available for free on developer,
[00:12] elite, and nonprofit licenses. Just go
[00:14] to gravityforms.com, log into your
[00:16] account, and download Gravity SMTP and
[00:18] add it to all of your sites today
[00:19] because it's going to help you deliver
[00:21] emails more efficiently, more
[00:23] effectively, and more securely,
[00:25] especially for your customers and their
[00:27] most important emails like purchase
[00:29] receipts, transactional emails,
[00:31] important lead, contact form data. It's
[00:34] all going to be delivered right to their
[00:36] inbox or their customers inbox. So, that
[00:39] was number one. The most important
[00:40] reason to use Gravity SMTP is to make
[00:43] sure those emails get delivered safely,
[00:46] securely, and effectively. Number two,
[00:49] Gravity SMTP makes it easy to manage all
[00:52] of that right inside of your WordPress
[00:54] dashboard. So, if you're working with
[00:56] clients or you're working within your
[00:57] organization and somebody says, "I'm not
[00:59] getting that email stopped coming
[01:00] through." You know, sort of like that
[01:01] panic moment that happens when uh those
[01:04] important emails stop coming into the
[01:05] inboxes. You can come right here into
[01:07] the dashboard and see everything from a
[01:10] bird's eye view. You can filter from
[01:12] sent versus failed. You could see the
[01:14] count uh right off the bat. So, anyone
[01:16] who has been servicing customers and
[01:19] servicing WordPress websites or in it in
[01:21] general know that we need a nice quick
[01:23] dashboard just to get that bird's eye
[01:25] view to see if something is happening.
[01:27] Maybe sales are going up and you're
[01:29] using email uh as a benchmark, right?
[01:31] You're saying look at all the receipts
[01:33] going out. Look at all of the signups
[01:34] coming in. Um, this is a great way to
[01:36] get that bird's eye view. It's going to
[01:38] give you some stuff here down at the
[01:39] bottom like top sending sources. Uh,
[01:41] because it's not always just about
[01:43] Gravity Forms. Gravity SMTP allows you
[01:45] to send all emails from WordPress using
[01:48] Gravity SMTP. So, in this demo site, you
[01:51] can see the Word Fence security reports
[01:53] coming through uh far out uh way the
[01:56] amount of contact forms we get on this
[01:58] sample site. Top email recipients,
[02:01] integrations, and of course, quick
[02:02] links. integrations will be a lot more
[02:04] important as I go further in this video,
[02:06] but this is that bird's eye view right
[02:08] here on the dashboard. Number two, it's
[02:10] the log screen. If you go to email log,
[02:12] you can see all of the emails going out
[02:14] from your WordPress website. And you can
[02:16] see their status. Were they sent? Did
[02:18] they fail? And if they failed, let's go
[02:21] in and click into an email to see what
[02:24] was in that email. Uh perhaps we're
[02:26] getting a report back that it was
[02:27] blocked from spam or images or some
[02:29] links. We can preview that image here.
[02:31] Make sure we understand. Okay, what was
[02:33] the email that was going out that got
[02:34] blocked? And then we can debug from
[02:36] there. And when we're ready, we can just
[02:39] resend it with a click of a button. If
[02:41] we made an adjustment with our uh send
[02:43] mail service, maybe somebody had to
[02:44] unblock us from spam or something like
[02:46] that, you can always click and resend
[02:48] the email. Here we click on the
[02:50] information icon. It's going to pull up
[02:53] that entry as if it were in Gravity
[02:56] Forms. And you can see even further what
[02:59] this email is doing, right? just giving
[03:01] you that deeper integration into uh the
[03:03] behind the scenes of managing email. So
[03:06] that's the logging screen here in
[03:08] Gravity SMTP. Okay, now we'll shoot over
[03:10] to the tools screen. This is one of the
[03:12] most uh requested features if you've
[03:14] been spending any of your time uh in the
[03:17] last I don't know 5 to 25 years in IT
[03:21] and web services. There's always that
[03:23] moment where the customer or your
[03:25] colleague says I'm not getting the
[03:26] email. It's not coming through. Uh none
[03:28] of the emails come through. What we can
[03:30] quickly do is send a test email. It's a
[03:32] simple yet beautiful feature here in
[03:34] Gravity SMTP. Makes everyone's lives
[03:36] easier to just quickly test that inbox
[03:38] and say, "Okay, what's your email? Let
[03:40] me put it in here and send a test." It's
[03:42] going to send actually that sample email
[03:44] you saw in the earlier screen. Uh it's
[03:46] going to send that as a test and say,
[03:47] "Did you receive that? Yes or no?" And
[03:49] then we can work our way back from
[03:50] there. So definitely a great little tool
[03:53] to have inside of Gravity SMTP. I love
[03:55] it and I know many others do as well.
[03:56] For our fifth tip, I want to jump over
[03:58] to the settings screen and then go to
[04:00] integrations. We're not going to do a
[04:01] whole walkthrough of this. We have other
[04:03] videos that do that. Right now, in this
[04:05] example site, I'm using Postmark as that
[04:07] SMTP service to send all the emails from
[04:11] this website. But when I click the three
[04:13] dots, I can set this as a primary or a
[04:16] backup. And I think this is one of the
[04:17] greatest features, especially of those
[04:19] of us who might be um trying out some
[04:22] SMTP services on a free plan. uh maybe
[04:25] others were paying for some kind of
[04:27] credit based system, but we don't want
[04:28] to go over those limits. You can set a
[04:30] primary or a backup uh or and a backup
[04:34] to SMTP services. So, if you wanted to
[04:36] use multiple SMTP services as a failover
[04:39] again, maybe you're running an
[04:41] e-commerce site, a membership site, a
[04:42] donation site, you want those
[04:44] transactional emails to go out. If in
[04:47] this case, Postmark had an issue sending
[04:49] email and there was a connection issue,
[04:51] it would fail over to a secondary
[04:53] connection that we could hook up here.
[04:55] If we ran out of credits on Postmark and
[04:57] we switched over to something like Brevo
[04:58] as a backup, it would then start sending
[05:00] emails from our Brevo account. So,
[05:02] you'll have to set up both accounts, but
[05:04] I think it's really cool to be able to
[05:05] route a primary and secondary SMTP
[05:08] service right here in Gravity SMTP.
[05:11] Okay, that bonus tip number six. Right
[05:13] here on the settings page, we can do a
[05:14] few things. We can always run in test
[05:17] mode. Uh if we're just setting this up
[05:18] for a customer and we don't want emails
[05:21] to actually start going out, we can
[05:22] enable a test mode with Gravity SMTP. We
[05:26] can enable a email activity digest which
[05:29] will email us on a weekly basis that
[05:31] says here's what's happened with all the
[05:33] email. How many delivered? How many
[05:35] failed? What other errors are we running
[05:36] into? I think that's really cool. And
[05:38] then experimental features. You can
[05:40] enable this. Right now, our experimental
[05:42] features are a web hook or an SMS Twilio
[05:46] notification about email issues that
[05:48] might be happening. Once again, you're
[05:50] running a highly critical site,
[05:52] especially those that are running
[05:54] Gravity Forms as the front end for user
[05:56] registration on an event site, a
[05:59] membership site, or ticketing and
[06:01] donations. This will automatically email
[06:03] any of those issues that there that your
[06:05] site is having with your SMTP provider
[06:08] and let you know, hey, there's a problem
[06:09] with the site. go and check it out.
[06:11] Okay, that's what I have for you for
[06:12] Gravity SMTP today. Don't forget, free
[06:15] with developer, elite, and nonprofit
[06:17] licenses. Go to gravityformms.com, log
[06:19] in, download Gravity SMTP, get it hooked
[06:22] up to all of your WordPress sites,
[06:23] especially if you're an agency or a
[06:24] freelancer. This helps your customers
[06:26] immensely. You can sleep a little bit
[06:28] safer at night knowing that their emails
[06:30] are getting delivered to their
[06:32] customers, right? Right? So your
[06:33] customers customers is going to are
[06:35] going to be really happy by you
[06:37] providing a deep value integration like
[06:40] this. Thanks for watching today's video.
[06:42] Thumbs up if you like the video.
[06:42] Subscribe to the channel if you want
[06:43] more. Got some comments? Leave them
[06:45] below.
