## ๐ Summary
- Blaze Ray responds to The Roy Report article about reform in the New Apostolic Reformation movement
- He argues the core problem is lack of gospel clarity in charismatic churches, not just structural reform
- After 18 years in charismatic ministries (1999-2017), he observes revival emphasis overshadows gospel preaching
- Many prominent charismatic leaders cannot clearly articulate the gospel message
- The movement focuses forward on what believers must do rather than backward on Christ's finished work
- Ray advocates returning to "apostolic gospel" teachings found in Paul's New Testament letters
## ๐ Main Content
Ray challenges the premise that structural reform alone can address issues in the charismatic movement. Drawing from nearly two decades of personal experience, he identifies a fundamental theological problem: the substitution of revivalism for gospel proclamation.
The video critiques the New Apostolic Reformation's emphasis on modern-day apostles and prophets while highlighting their apparent inability to articulate basic gospel truths. Ray cites Jack Deer's account that Paul Cain, a prominent charismatic prophet, could not explain the gospel despite performing "signs and wonders shows."
This theological deficiency creates a cycle of spiritual dependency, where believers constantly seek the "next meeting" or "next revival" rather than resting in Christ's completed work. Ray argues this forward-looking orientation neglects the foundational truth of the cross and resurrection.

## ๐ฃ๏ธ Paraphrase
- The charismatic movement prioritizes experiential revival meetings over clear gospel presentation, leaving believers theologically malnourished despite emotional highs
- Prominent charismatic leaders often cannot explain basic Christian doctrines like salvation, undermining their authority to lead spiritual movements or claim apostolic status
- The movement's future-focused spirituality creates dependency on constant new experiences rather than confidence in Christ's finished work at the cross
## ๐ฐ Newsletter
**Gospel Clarity Crisis in Charismatic Churches**
A sobering assessment from former charismatic insider Blaze Ray reveals a fundamental problem: many charismatic churches have substituted revival experiences for gospel proclamation. After 18 years in the movement, Ray observes that even prominent leaders struggle to articulate basic salvation truths.
**Key Insight**: The movement's emphasis on future spiritual achievements often overshadows the foundational truth of Christ's completed work, creating spiritually dependent believers who chase the next experience.
**Practical Application**: Church leaders should regularly audit their teaching for gospel clarity and ensure congregants can articulate their faith beyond experiential testimonies.

## ๐งช Hypotheses
- Churches emphasizing experiential worship over doctrinal teaching produce believers unable to articulate core faith tenets
- Leadership theological illiteracy correlates with increased spiritual manipulation and dependency in congregations
- Revival-focused movements create cycles of spiritual highs followed by disillusionment when experiences don't sustain daily faith

### ๐ก๏ธ DARVO Analysis
- Deny: No denial of legitimate spiritual gifts or charismatic experiences
- Attack: Focused critique on institutional patterns rather than personal attacks
- Reverse victim/offender: No evidence of victim/offender role reversal
- Emotional cues and rhetoric: Measured concern rather than manipulative emotional appeals
## ๐ฏ Conclusion
Ray argues that structural reform in charismatic churches requires foundational theological correction rather than organizational adjustments. The movement's emphasis on experiential spirituality over gospel clarity creates unsustainable spiritual formation patterns. True reform demands returning to the apostolic gospel model found in New Testament epistles, where doctrine and experience integrate around Christ's finished work rather than future spiritual achievements.

[00:00] You know, people that say they're still
[00:01] modern-day apostles, I'm like, I'm not
[00:03] looking around for these guys. I don't I
[00:05] could care less. Most of these guys
[00:07] can't even articulate the gospel.
[00:09] >> We wake up and win.
[00:10] >> Wake up and win.
[00:11] >> Wake up and win. Wake up.
[00:14] I was interviewed by the Roy report uh
[00:17] in the past couple weeks uh by Daniel
[00:20] Sllomon and he put out an article about
[00:23] the new apostolic reformation and
[00:26] Ephesians chapter 4 modern day apostles
[00:29] and prophets and is there hope for
[00:31] reform in that movement and it was
[00:34] interesting he started the article with
[00:35] blaze ray says there's no hope for
[00:37] reform or something like that it was a
[00:38] very it was a very catchy open opening
[00:40] statement but I wanted um I just want to
[00:43] make a comment
[00:44] uh on this article and on this idea and
[00:48] to help people understand the crux of
[00:52] the matter. Okay. Um a lot of great
[00:55] thoughts in this article. Daniel did a
[00:57] great job putting it together. Uh
[01:00] information that he gathered from
[01:02] multiple different sources on ideas
[01:04] based on the New Apostolic Reformation
[01:07] as well as as well as just the
[01:09] modern-day apostolic movement or
[01:11] prophetic movement, whatever you want to
[01:13] call it. I'll just call it the
[01:14] charismatic movement. I really believe
[01:16] that the problem hinges on where our
[01:19] focus is. The problem hinges on the fact
[01:22] that you can go to a charismatic church
[01:24] for years. And I was in the charismatic
[01:26] movement still partially am. The church
[01:29] I go to now is not overtly charismatic.
[01:31] Uh but they are they do believe in the
[01:33] spiritual gifts. Um but I'll say this
[01:35] that you can go to be in the charismatic
[01:38] movement for years like I was. Um,
[01:41] specifically in ministries from 1999 to
[01:44] 2017, 2016, guys, in that movement, you
[01:50] rarely hear a clarifying, a clear
[01:53] message of the gospel. You mostly hear
[01:57] of revival. Revival is the gospel in
[02:01] most of these guys' minds. Revivalism,
[02:04] you know, the what they would call the
[02:05] move of the spirit. I love a good
[02:07] revival meeting where you sense and feel
[02:10] the presence of God. Maybe there's some
[02:12] healings. Um maybe there's some
[02:14] healings, maybe there's not some
[02:16] healings. Maybe they say there's
[02:17] healings, but there's not. You know,
[02:18] sometimes you never know. Um but good
[02:21] worship, you know, long worship
[02:23] services, all that stuff. It's great.
[02:25] But the reality is that does not sustain
[02:27] the heart. that does not sustain
[02:30] people's u long-term
[02:34] landing and walk in Christ. You know,
[02:37] the the book of Colossians, you all you
[02:39] have to do, guys, is read Paul's letters
[02:41] and match it up to the modern day
[02:43] charismatic movement and you will
[02:44] realize that we are a far cry. Oh, how
[02:48] the mighty have fallen. Right? We are a
[02:50] far cry from what the apostolic movement
[02:54] actually was. It's the apostolic gospel.
[02:56] It's a focus on the gospel of Jesus
[03:00] Christ, the finished work and the
[03:02] completed work of Jesus Christ. And I'll
[03:05] tell you, most of the charismatic
[03:07] movement cannot articulate the gospel.
[03:10] You know, it's interesting. Um we have
[03:13] spoken to and heard stories uh regarding
[03:16] uh Paul Kaine and Paul Kane's ministry
[03:19] which Paul Kaine was one of the main
[03:21] prominent prophets that basically main
[03:25] prominent prophets that um
[03:29] prophesied this modern-day charismatic
[03:32] movement besides like William Brandom.
[03:34] Jack Deer actually put out an article I
[03:36] think or a year and a half ago saying
[03:38] that Paul Kaine could not even
[03:39] articulate the gospel. They would try to
[03:41] get him to get on stage and articulate
[03:42] the gospel after he did his little uh
[03:44] signs and wonders show. He couldn't even
[03:46] articulate the gospel. Friends, I'm
[03:49] telling you that proper doctrine
[03:52] regarding the faith, regarding the
[03:54] gospel, the incarnation of Christ, the
[03:57] finished work of Christ, what was
[03:58] completed. See, most of the charismatic
[04:02] movement does not look back to what
[04:05] Christ accomplished and what he did on
[04:08] the cross in his death and his
[04:10] resurrection.
[04:12] They look forward mostly to what can
[04:15] happen because of that. If we press hard
[04:18] enough, if we do enough, if we pray
[04:20] enough, if we fast enough, if we do this
[04:22] and that enough, then we can get
[04:24] revival. Then we can get the greater
[04:26] works. then we can get you know all
[04:28] these things and then of course um you
[04:31] know we can and this this ends up in a
[04:34] whole different realm but we can kind of
[04:36] force the second coming of Christ and I
[04:39] think that that is actually uh part of
[04:41] the untapped issue that we don't really
[04:45] talk about much. Um but that idea is
[04:48] very prominent in the new apostolic
[04:50] reformation and modern modern day
[04:52] apostles and prophets. And I'll say I
[04:54] long for the completion. I long for the
[04:57] second coming. The hope of the the
[05:00] completed portion of eternity or of uh
[05:05] of everything is the resurrection, the
[05:07] final resurrection is our redemption and
[05:09] our hope. But there is so much left out
[05:12] about the finished work of the of the
[05:14] cross and what that completed. And it
[05:19] leaves this open door for always
[05:22] desiring more. always wanting more,
[05:24] always never satisfied in what was
[05:27] accomplished, never satisfied. And it
[05:29] leaves it leaves people literally
[05:32] feeling like they have to get to the
[05:33] next meeting in order to be completed.
[05:35] They have to get to the next um revival
[05:38] meeting. They have to get the next
[05:40] testimony. They have to get the next
[05:41] thing. And uh guys, I'm all about God
[05:44] continually using his normal people, his
[05:48] normal pewsitting people to preach the
[05:51] gospel, to share the love of Jesus with
[05:54] people and uh to pray for the sick and
[05:58] to love on people.
[06:00] But there's so much lacking in just
[06:03] basic doctrine. You know, Colossians
[06:05] chapter 2, he says, "In the same way
[06:07] that you received Christ, which was
[06:09] simple, remember that was very simple.
[06:10] the way you received him and the same
[06:12] way that you received Christ. So walk in
[06:14] him. Walk in him with that same
[06:16] simplicity, that same I think a lot of
[06:19] deconstruction within charismatic, the
[06:21] charismatic world is because of
[06:23] unfulfilled promises and unfulfilled
[06:27] prophecies.
[06:29] I'll tell you, we have a more sure word
[06:32] according to the Apostle Peter, who I
[06:34] know to be an apostle. I'm not looking,
[06:36] you know, people that say they're still
[06:37] modern-day apostles. I'm like, I'm not
[06:40] looking around for these guys. I don't I
[06:41] could care less.
[06:42] >> Guys, real quick, this episode is
[06:44] brought to you by Wake Up and Win Life
[06:45] Insurance. That is what I do as my
[06:47] full-time job. I am not a full-time
[06:49] YouTuber at this time, but I help folks
[06:51] with life insurance. Been doing that for
[06:52] the last decade. I contract
[06:54] independently with multiple life
[06:56] insurance companies all across the
[06:58] United States. And I can help with
[06:59] hundreds of different life insurance
[07:00] products, different strategies for
[07:02] protecting your family in the worst case
[07:05] scenario. Some of those products come
[07:07] with things called living benefits where
[07:08] if you were to get a critical or chronic
[07:10] or terminal illness, then the life
[07:12] insurance or a portion of the life
[07:14] insurance can pay out to help you while
[07:15] you're still living. It's a pretty
[07:16] powerful product. Um, that would go with
[07:19] term life, whole life, universal life,
[07:21] index universal life, different things
[07:22] like that. If you are interested in
[07:24] having a consultation to talk about
[07:26] whether you qualify or what you qualify
[07:28] for or how much you need to get or if
[07:30] you just go, I have no idea. I just like
[07:32] to have an initial conversation and find
[07:34] out what I actually need and what the
[07:36] purpose of it would be. Then book at the
[07:38] link below kalendlely.com/blaze.
[07:42] Again, it's calendarly.com/blaze.
[07:44] Within about a 30 minute conversation, I
[07:46] can get some clarity for you to help you
[07:48] know what you need to do moving forward.
[07:50] All right, guys. Let's get back to the
[07:51] show. I could care less. If there is,
[07:54] they're probably hidden and they're
[07:55] probably uh fighting to serve lots of
[07:58] people and not have a public platform.
[08:01] But most of what we see, and I think
[08:04] doctrinally or just scripturally, I just
[08:06] don't see that anymore. I just don't see
[08:08] these modern day apostles anymore. I
[08:09] just don't see it. I don't see it. Uh
[08:11] but you we could argue that all day. We
[08:12] could go back and forth, scripture for
[08:14] scripture. Uh but I don't see it. But
[08:17] I'll just say that
[08:19] that most of our focus in the revivalism
[08:25] culture is kind of finding and following
[08:28] the new apostle. finding and following
[08:30] the new prophets. And I believe in the
[08:32] gift of prophecy. I believe um I believe
[08:36] in the prophetic gift.
[08:38] But I'll tell you like most of these
[08:42] guys can't even articulate the gospel.
[08:44] So I could care less about their
[08:47] accuracy with you know a prophetic word
[08:50] this or that or the other when they
[08:52] can't even articulate what is a more
[08:55] sure prophetic word. the hope laid up
[08:58] for us, the hope of the gospel, Christ
[09:01] in you, the hope of glory, the wall of
[09:03] division being broken down by the torn
[09:07] flesh of Christ.
[09:09] Anyway, I just wanted to share and say
[09:12] that thanks for to Daniel for putting
[09:14] out the article. I just wanted to give a
[09:16] little bit deeper perspective on the
[09:18] real crux of the matter in my mind. The
[09:22] real foundation of of my thoughts on
[09:25] this is that we have got to get back to
[09:28] the apostolic gospel. I guarantee you if
[09:31] preachers and pastors and leaders and
[09:33] elders would just read the New
[09:35] Testament, yes, read the entire Bible.
[09:37] Of course, people get mad at me when I
[09:38] say read the New Testament. Of course,
[09:40] read the Old Testament as well. Read the
[09:42] entire Bible. Read the whole thing. But
[09:45] when you get into the instructional
[09:47] books uh from the apostle Paul to the
[09:51] saints to the churches, you will find
[09:54] that most of what he's saying is not
[09:56] being said in these type of churches.
[10:00] >> And I think that's
[10:05] >> wake up.
[10:08] >> Guys, real quick, this episode is
[10:09] brought to you by Wake Up and Win Life
[10:11] Insurance. That is what I do as my
[10:13] full-time job. I am not a full-time
[10:14] YouTuber at this time, but I help folks
[10:16] with life insurance. Been doing that for
[10:18] the last decade. I contract
[10:20] independently with multiple life
[10:22] insurance companies all across the
[10:24] United States, and I can help with
[10:25] hundreds of different life insurance
[10:26] products, different strategies for
[10:28] protecting your family in the worst case
[10:30] scenario. Some of those products come
[10:32] with things called living benefits where
[10:34] if you were to get a critical or chronic
[10:36] or terminal illness, then the life
[10:38] insurance or a portion of the life
[10:40] insurance can pay out to help you while
[10:41] you're still living. It's a pretty
[10:42] powerful product. Um that would go with
[10:45] term life, whole life, universal life,
[10:47] index universal life, different things
[10:48] like that. If you are interested in
[10:50] having a consultation to talk about
[10:52] whether you qualify or what you qualify
[10:54] for or how much you need to get or if
[10:56] you just go, I have no idea. I just like
[10:58] to have an initial conversation and find
[11:00] out what I actually need and what the
[11:02] purpose of it would be. Then book at the
[11:04] link below kalanley.com/blaze.
[11:07] Again, it's kalendley.com/blaze.
[11:10] within about a 30-minute conversation, I
[11:12] can get some clarity for you to help you
[11:14] know what you need to do moving forward.

I just wanted to give a little bit deeper perspective on the real crux of the matter in my mind. The real foundation of of my thoughts on this is that we have got to get back to the apostolic gospel.
