With the proliferation of data collection through contact forms, analytics tools, and third-party embeds, virtually every website now falls under various privacy regulations. Termageddon differentiates itself by covering over 125 privacy laws, rules, and regulationsโ€”approximately 5x more than competitors. The service was founded by a privacy attorney and built specifically for web agencies, offering auto-updating policies that adapt to changing legal requirements. The platform uses conditional questioning to determine which laws apply to specific businesses, avoiding unnecessary compliance burdens while ensuring comprehensive coverage. For example, California's CCPA only applies to larger businesses meeting specific revenue thresholds, not smaller companies that might assume they need it. Agencies can monetize policy services through two programs: reselling at wholesale rates ($42.24 vs $119 retail) for hands-on management, or affiliate commissions (20% recurring) for referral-based approaches. The choice depends on operational capacity and desired involvement level. ## ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Notes #### โฑ๏ธ [00:00](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=0) โ€” [H1] Privacy policies are essential for modern websites - Key idea: Contact forms, analytics, and embeds trigger privacy policy requirements - Evidence: "just about every website on the internet today needs some kind of privacy policy solution" #### โฑ๏ธ [01:15](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=75) โ€” [H2] Non-compliance carries serious consequences - Key idea: Fines are substantial and enforcement is increasing - Evidence: "The fines for non-compliance are absolutely mind-blowing, and we're seeing a major uptick" #### โฑ๏ธ [02:30](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=150) โ€” [H1] Termageddon provides auto-updating policy solution - Key idea: Policies stay current with changing laws through embed codes - Evidence: "$119 a year for a full set of policies and a consent solution" #### โฑ๏ธ [04:20](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=260) โ€” [H2] Comprehensive legal coverage differentiates service - Key idea: Platform covers 125+ privacy laws vs competitors' limited scope - Evidence: "5x more than anyone else on the planet" #### โฑ๏ธ [06:45](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=405) โ€” [H3] Agency-focused approach built from experience - Key idea: Founder's agency background shaped product for web professionals - Evidence: "I ran a 10person agency prior to selling it and going full-time termageddon" #### โฑ๏ธ [08:10](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=490) โ€” [H2] Conditional questioning ensures appropriate compliance - Key idea: Tool determines applicable laws before generating policies - Evidence: "our tool starts by finding out what laws apply and only from there do we ask the questions" #### โฑ๏ธ [10:30](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=630) โ€” [H3] Common misconceptions about CCPA requirements - Key idea: California privacy law only applies to larger businesses meeting thresholds - Evidence: "only applies to for-profit entities that make 25 million a year in revenue" #### โฑ๏ธ [12:15](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=735) โ€” [H1] Reseller program offers wholesale pricing - Key idea: Agencies buy at $42.24 and resell at $119 for recurring profit - Evidence: "you're buying it from us at $42.24 cents a year and then reselling them to your clients at the full 119" #### โฑ๏ธ [13:45](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=825) โ€” [H2] Affiliate program provides hands-off revenue - Key idea: 20% recurring commissions for referrals with lifetime payments - Evidence: "20% recurring commissions for the lifetime of all referrals" #### โฑ๏ธ [15:20](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=920) โ€” [H3] Reseller program suits structured agencies - Key idea: Higher profit but requires operational investment and SOPs - Evidence: "works really well for agencies that have like very strict SOPs" #### โฑ๏ธ [16:40](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=1000) โ€” [H3] Affiliate program minimizes agency involvement - Key idea: Clients work directly with Termageddon while agency earns commissions - Evidence: "much more hands-off for the agency" #### โฑ๏ธ [17:55](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=1075) โ€” [H2] Complimentary onboarding available for partners - Key idea: Direct client consultation service exclusive to agency partners - Evidence: "complimentary onboarding program that isn't even visible publicly" ## ๐Ÿ“š References - [Termageddon Agency Partner Program](https://termageddon.com/tab) - [The Admin Bar Community](https://theadminbar.com) - [California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)](https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa) ## ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Paraphrase - Website privacy policies are now legally required for most sites due to data collection through forms, analytics, and third-party integrations, with significant fines for non-compliance - Termageddon offers auto-updating policies covering 125+ privacy laws at $119/year, using conditional questioning to determine applicable regulations for each business - Web agencies can create recurring revenue streams by either reselling policies at wholesale rates for higher profit or earning 20% affiliate commissions through referrals ## ๐Ÿ“ฐ Newsletter Legal compliance doesn't have to be a headache for your WordPress agency. The fines for non-compliance
[00:11] are absolutely mind-blowing, and we're
[00:13] seeing a major uptick in the number of
[00:15] companies who are being targeted for not
[00:17] having the right kinds of policies on
[00:19] their website. Now, whether or not you'd
[00:21] be liable for that as an agency owner,
[00:23] if your client gets one of these demand
[00:24] letters, you're absolutely going to be
[00:26] the first person they reach out to. And
[00:28] none of us really want to deal with that
[00:29] headache. That's why for years now I've
[00:31] been using Termageddon for all of my own
[00:33] websites, why I strongly suggest it to
[00:36] all my clients, and why I recommend it
[00:37] to everybody inside the admin bar. Now,
[00:39] I know this is starting to sound like an
[00:41] ad, and while I do have some
[00:42] partnerships with Termageddon, this
[00:44] video is not one of them. I actually
[00:46] reached out to Hans at Termageddon to
[00:48] see if he would help me with this video
[00:50] as a favor to me because I see so many
[00:52] of these conversations happening inside
[00:54] the adminar community and I just wish
[00:56] everybody else felt as confident about
[00:58] their solution as I do about mine. So in
[01:00] this quick interview, Hans is going to
[01:02] explain how the Termageddon system works
[01:04] and better than that, how you can
[01:06] actually turn this into a recurring
[01:08] revenue stream for your agency while
[01:10] protecting your clients at the same
[01:11] time. So, Hans, we see all the privacy
[01:14] policy and terms of service links inside
[01:16] footers. We're bombarded by all the
[01:18] cookie banners. Is all that stuff
[01:19] actually even really that important?
[01:22] >> Uh, yes, they are. And I I know we want
[01:25] to hope that it's not the case like, oh,
[01:28] I I wish I didn't have to really think
[01:30] about this stuff, but the reality is we
[01:32] do. Uh, anyone in the web world, we are
[01:34] building websites for clients that
[01:36] collect data like names and emails
[01:37] through contact forms, IP addresses
[01:39] through analytics tools. We need to be
[01:42] coming to terms with reality which is
[01:44] that we are helping our customers
[01:46] collect regulated data. We should not
[01:48] downplay this. We should inform them
[01:49] about their legal requirements of having
[01:51] a website and address it upfront because
[01:55] website owners are actively being
[01:57] targeted for privacy law non-compliance
[01:59] as we do this recording. And so it is a
[02:02] big deal. But the good news is there's
[02:04] tools out there on how to get it
[02:05] addressed.
[02:07] >> Absolutely. And obviously termageddon is
[02:09] one of those tools which is why we're
[02:10] chatting today. So what is termageddon
[02:12] exactly? Like if you explained it in a
[02:14] nutshell.
[02:15] >> Yeah. So termageddon is an auto updating
[02:18] website policies and consent solution.
[02:20] So our that is to summarize it that is
[02:23] everything we do. We auto up we you
[02:24] generate policies with termageddon. We
[02:26] automatically update them over time via
[02:28] our embed codes which you copy and paste
[02:30] into the body of your policy pages. We
[02:32] provide consent solutions that are
[02:34] tailored to the actual laws that apply
[02:36] to you. And why this matters is well, we
[02:39] don't want to be fined or sued because
[02:40] we're running a website. That's like the
[02:42] last thing we want to think about. Um,
[02:44] so let's put a solution in place that is
[02:46] not just a static one-time, oh, I just
[02:48] put on my site, I'm good to go forever.
[02:50] No, no, no. Termagan is a strategy to
[02:52] keep up to date with the ever changing
[02:54] privacy law landscape. Um, so it were
[02:56] $119 a year for a full set of policies
[02:59] and a consent solution.
[03:01] And you mentioned a couple of those
[03:02] things like the auto updating and the
[03:04] making sure that you're checking for all
[03:07] the applicable laws. Is that a way you
[03:09] differentiate from other competitors on
[03:11] the market? Because I know there's other
[03:12] solutions out there for this kind of
[03:14] thing.
[03:15] >> Yeah, that that's one of our big
[03:16] differentiators. Uh we cover a little
[03:19] over 125 privacy related laws, rules,
[03:22] and regulations and consumer protection
[03:24] laws. Um which is I think 5x more than
[03:27] anyone else on the planet. I think that
[03:28] just speaks to having an actual privacy
[03:30] attorney be one of the founders of this
[03:32] tech company. Um, you know, our
[03:34] foundation ha has and will always be to
[03:37] find out what disclosures you need to
[03:39] make and what type of consent tool you
[03:40] need on your website. You first need to
[03:42] find out what laws apply. Once you find
[03:44] out what laws apply, each law tells you
[03:46] what you need to say in those policies.
[03:48] So, our tool starts by finding out what
[03:49] laws apply and only from there do we ask
[03:52] the questions necessary to make the
[03:53] respective disclosures under those laws.
[03:55] So, that's the big differentiator. One
[03:57] of the big ones uh for us is being
[04:00] privacy attorney founded u for one, but
[04:02] also find out the laws that apply
[04:04] because that will literally dictate
[04:05] everything else and uh that's exactly
[04:07] where our tool starts you off with when
[04:09] going through our questionnaire.
[04:11] >> So we obviously uh are connected through
[04:13] the fact that I run a community for
[04:15] agencies and I know Termagdon does a lot
[04:17] of stuff that's specific for web
[04:19] agencies. So, can you tell me why a web
[04:21] agency or a freelancer, somebody that's
[04:22] selling website services to a client
[04:24] would pick Termagdon over some of the
[04:26] other solutions?
[04:27] >> Yeah, so earlier I I mentioned how my
[04:29] wife's the privacy attorney, the real
[04:31] brains of the operation. Um, and you
[04:33] know, that's the right foundation to
[04:35] getting everything properly set up
[04:36] that's comprehensive. My background is I
[04:38] ran a 10person agency uh prior to
[04:41] selling it and going full-time
[04:42] termageddon. And so, I built Termageddon
[04:45] to tailor two agencies and their
[04:47] clients. Like I that's so it's it's our
[04:49] DNA. That is how we built our program. I
[04:52] wanted agencies to first off get a free
[04:54] license for their own website. Like join
[04:56] as a partner, take the time to learn our
[04:58] tool, get something free while you're at
[05:00] it. Um so you can see do I like this?
[05:03] Could I see myself recommending this to
[05:05] my clients? And if you do like what you
[05:06] see, you can recommend our solution with
[05:08] our affiliate or reseller programs. So
[05:10] you can make a little recurring revenue
[05:12] while you help your clients get
[05:13] protected. And our entire dashboard is
[05:16] built to be agency clients uh friendly.
[05:18] You know, right when you log in as a
[05:19] partner, you'll see all your licenses in
[05:21] one dashboard view. You can drill down
[05:23] into individual clients, issue
[05:25] individual license access to each of
[05:27] your clients. The list goes on and on.
[05:29] But high level, our DNA is working with
[05:31] agency partners. That's how we built
[05:33] this company.
[05:34] >> That's great. And and you mentioned the
[05:36] dashboard there. So setting up policies.
[05:38] I don't know anything about the legal
[05:40] mumbo jumbo that goes into that. So,
[05:42] what what's all involved in getting a
[05:44] policy set up? How does all that work?
[05:46] >> Yeah. To get proper policies set up, you
[05:49] need to find out what laws apply to you.
[05:51] And um that's ground level one, like
[05:54] find out what laws apply because that
[05:55] will dictate everything else. It'll
[05:57] determine if you need uh a privacy
[05:59] policy to make privacy law disclosures.
[06:01] Um privacy policy needed for virtually
[06:03] any website in this day and age. If
[06:05] you're collecting names and emails
[06:06] through contact forms, you likely need a
[06:08] privacy policy. um terms of service,
[06:11] otherwise known as terms of use. These
[06:12] are the this type of policy is just a
[06:14] laundry list of reasons why website
[06:16] visitors can't sue you. Um so when you
[06:18] go through our questionnaire, we
[06:19] basically help you determine what laws
[06:21] apply and then as our questionnaire
[06:23] adapts, um we'll ask you additional
[06:25] questions to make sure we get all the
[06:27] disclosures in there that you
[06:28] specifically are required to make.
[06:31] >> So all those questions are basically
[06:33] conditional. So if we answer one way,
[06:35] you give us the next set of questions if
[06:37] we answer differently. That's how it's
[06:38] kind of tailored.
[06:39] >> That's exactly right. Um I can't tell
[06:41] you how many times uh people come to us
[06:43] saying, "Oh, I I need CCPA disclosures,
[06:45] which is a California privacy law." And
[06:48] that law only applies to for-profit
[06:50] entities that make 25 million a year in
[06:52] revenue or or surpass some other
[06:54] thresholds. For the sake of this
[06:55] interview, I'm not going to go into the
[06:56] details. CCPA, which is actually called
[06:58] CPA. Now, for the record, that only
[07:00] applies to larger businesses,
[07:02] broadstrokes purposes. And so when I see
[07:04] a plumber coming to me or a nonprofit
[07:06] coming to me, I need CCPA, I I just we
[07:09] have to peel that layer back and be
[07:10] like, "No, you need to make the
[07:11] disclosures you're required to make
[07:12] because California has some nasty other
[07:14] privacy laws that are likely much more
[07:16] uh of importance that you get addressed
[07:18] rather than a law that wouldn't apply to
[07:20] you in the first place." And that's a
[07:22] really big distinction between Termagdan
[07:23] and other uh providers is we have one
[07:26] price, $119 a year, whether you need to
[07:28] comply with one law or 100. And and and
[07:30] and I like it being that simple because
[07:32] I don't want to nickel and dime people
[07:34] for, oh, you want this new law? Oh,
[07:36] that's going to cost you an extra 20
[07:37] bucks a year. Like, none of that. Like,
[07:38] it's it's annoying enough that I have to
[07:41] go through the policy generation
[07:42] process. I don't want to be nickeled and
[07:44] dimed along the way.
[07:45] >> But you mentioned uh for agencies that
[07:47] there's a reseller option. There's also
[07:49] an affiliate option. Can you tell us a
[07:51] little bit about how that works as far
[07:52] as from the agency perspective?
[07:55] >> Yeah, so um you you join as an agency
[07:57] partner. That means you have have access
[07:59] to both the reseller and affiliate
[08:01] programs. Meaning you can resell
[08:04] licenses to some clients. What is
[08:06] reselling? Instead of $119 a year, you
[08:08] can buy from us at $42.24
[08:11] per year. You can actually even get it
[08:14] less if you you buy you can buy right
[08:16] out the gate one at a time at wholesale
[08:18] rates. Um but if you want to like buy a
[08:20] bulk deal, you can even bring that rate
[08:21] down lower. But worst case, you're
[08:23] buying it from us at $42.24 24 cents a
[08:25] year and then reselling them to your
[08:27] clients at the full 119 a year. So that
[08:29] way you can make a recurring revenue
[08:30] stream while helping your clients get
[08:32] protected. Um the affiliate program is
[08:35] where your client pays term again
[08:37] directly and then we pay you recurring
[08:39] commission for the lifetime of all
[08:40] sales. That is currently 20% recurring
[08:44] commissions. Um it can go higher if you
[08:46] find our Easter egg in our website. Uh
[08:48] but I'll I have to leave it as that as
[08:49] being the clue. Um but 20% recurring
[08:52] commissions and um it's for the lifetime
[08:54] of all referrals and it's our thank you
[08:56] to you know recommending us. Um and
[08:58] there's pros and cons to both the
[09:00] reseller and affiliate program. Happy to
[09:01] give highle overviews if you'd like me
[09:03] to.
[09:04] >> Yeah, I know there's been confusion over
[09:05] that over should I do the resell or
[09:07] should I do the affiliate. It sounds
[09:08] like the resale probably gets you a
[09:10] little bit more profit. So that would
[09:12] probably go in the pros column there.
[09:14] But give us a little uh reasons why
[09:15] people might pick one or the other.
[09:17] >> Yeah. and you nailed the pro to the
[09:19] reseller program is that um you can make
[09:22] more recurring profit uh with the
[09:23] reseller program, but the con is that
[09:25] it's a lot more hands-on work. You have
[09:27] to make sure you share the license with
[09:29] the client, make sure that they've
[09:30] reviewed their their questionnaire. I I
[09:33] would say the reseller program works
[09:34] really well for agencies that have like
[09:36] very strict SOPs that they follow or
[09:38] maybe they're very niche focused where
[09:40] they know the typical license is going
[09:42] to have kind of the same foundation
[09:44] again and again. And with the reseller
[09:46] program, you can duplicate previously
[09:47] built licenses so you can like expedite
[09:49] setups. Um, so reseller program really
[09:52] beneficial if you have kind of your
[09:54] operations down. It's like boom boom
[09:56] boom and and you want to invest that
[09:57] upfront time to really learning how best
[09:59] to resell um our product. Um, the
[10:02] affiliate program is much more for like,
[10:04] you know, I want to focus on web design.
[10:06] I don't really want to do privacy policy
[10:08] stuff. I'm just going to recommend
[10:09] clients go directly to you. Um, and that
[10:12] that means the client comes to us, pays
[10:13] us directly, they go through the
[10:15] questionnaire, and then share the
[10:16] license with your partner account when
[10:17] they're done. So, you can get the codes
[10:18] to add to their site. It's way more
[10:20] hands-off uh for the agency. And we even
[10:23] have a complimentary onboarding program
[10:25] that isn't even visible publicly. It's
[10:27] only visible to our agency partners. Um,
[10:29] where you can actually connect us
[10:30] directly with your client. We'll book a
[10:32] call with them. We'll walk them through
[10:33] everything. Um, and what's great is, you
[10:35] know, you the partner, you just educate
[10:37] clients about their legal requirements.
[10:38] offer term again as a potential
[10:40] solution. Clients get connected with us,
[10:42] we walk them through everything and then
[10:43] we pay you. Um, so yeah, if you go the
[10:46] affiliate program with term again, there
[10:47] will never be a moment in time you ever
[10:49] pay us. In fact, we will be the ones
[10:50] paying you for the lifetime of your
[10:52] referrals. Um, so the con to the
[10:55] affiliate program though is the
[10:56] commissions. It's like 20% commission.
[10:58] Um, so you don't make as much money. Uh,
[11:00] no one's going to be retiring with
[11:01] Termagdon. Uh, but making a little money
[11:03] coming in every year, you know, that
[11:05] stuff adds up over time. So
[11:06] >> yeah. And you said you don't have to
[11:08] pick one or the other. You could do both
[11:10] simultaneously.
[11:11] >> Yeah. If you want to resell to some of
[11:13] your clients and then do the affiliate
[11:15] program for others, uh, by all means. My
[11:17] favorite is when agencies are like, "I'm
[11:18] going to take the fun clients, the ones
[11:20] I like, and I'm going to send you all
[11:21] the ones I don't like." And I'm like,
[11:23] honestly, I do the same. So, so yeah, by
[11:26] all means, resell to some, do the
[11:28] affiliate for others. What matters is
[11:29] you apply to be a partner and you're
[11:31] approved. you know, when you apply,
[11:33] provide a real website, provide a
[11:35] professional email, you'll get approved.
[11:36] Um, and and then from there, you have
[11:39] that access to be able to do both
[11:40] programs.
[11:41] >> Perfect. I'll make sure everybody has
[11:43] the links to all that wherever you're
[11:44] finding this video. And Hans, I really
[11:46] appreciate you taking a little bit of
[11:47] time to explain how everything works to
[11:49] us today.
[11:50] >> Thanks so much, Kyle.
[11:52] >> If you're interested in learning more,
[11:53] then go over to termageddon.com/tab
[11:56] where you can sign up for free to become
[11:58] an agency partner. that will actually
[12:00] unlock two free licenses for you instead
[12:02] of one. But more importantly, it gives
[12:04] you access to all the agency specific
[12:06] tools has developed. These will help you
[12:09] inform, educate, and sell policies to
[12:11] your clients. My two favorite of those
[12:13] are the website policies waiver, which I
[12:15] include in all of my contracts and the
[12:17] pre-written email sequences. Like I said
[12:19] before, I gain nothing from sharing this
[12:21] video or for you clicking my link. I
[12:23] just really believe in Termagdon and I
[12:25] wish everybody felt as confident about
[12:27] their solution as I do. Now, I know this
[12:29] video was a little bit different than
[12:30] what I normally do, but if you have any
[12:32] questions, let me know down in the
[12:33] comments below. [[3. With the proliferation of data collection through contact forms, analytics tools, and third-party embeds, virtually every website now falls under various privacy regulations. Termageddon differentiates itself by covering over 125 privacy laws, rules, and regulationsโ€”approximately 5x more than competitors. The service was founded by a privacy attorney and built specifically for web agencies, offering auto-updating policies that adapt to changing legal requirements. The platform uses conditional questioning to determine which laws apply to specific businesses, avoiding unnecessary compliance burdens while ensuring comprehensive coverage. For example, California's CCPA only applies to larger businesses meeting specific revenue thresholds, not smaller companies that might assume they need it. Agencies can monetize policy services through two programs: reselling at wholesale rates ($42.24 vs $119 retail) for hands-on management, or affiliate commissions (20% recurring) for referral-based approaches. The choice depends on operational capacity and desired involvement level. ## ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Notes #### โฑ๏ธ [00:00](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=0) โ€” [H1] Privacy policies are essential for modern websites - Key idea: Contact forms, analytics, and embeds trigger privacy policy requirements - Evidence: "just about every website on the internet today needs some kind of privacy policy solution" #### โฑ๏ธ [01:15](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=75) โ€” [H2] Non-compliance carries serious consequences - Key idea: Fines are substantial and enforcement is increasing - Evidence: "The fines for non-compliance are absolutely mind-blowing, and we're seeing a major uptick" #### โฑ๏ธ [02:30](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=150) โ€” [H1] Termageddon provides auto-updating policy solution - Key idea: Policies stay current with changing laws through embed codes - Evidence: "$119 a year for a full set of policies and a consent solution" #### โฑ๏ธ [04:20](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=260) โ€” [H2] Comprehensive legal coverage differentiates service - Key idea: Platform covers 125+ privacy laws vs competitors' limited scope - Evidence: "5x more than anyone else on the planet" #### โฑ๏ธ [06:45](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=405) โ€” [H3] Agency-focused approach built from experience - Key idea: Founder's agency background shaped product for web professionals - Evidence: "I ran a 10person agency prior to selling it and going full-time termageddon" #### โฑ๏ธ [08:10](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=490) โ€” [H2] Conditional questioning ensures appropriate compliance - Key idea: Tool determines applicable laws before generating policies - Evidence: "our tool starts by finding out what laws apply and only from there do we ask the questions" #### โฑ๏ธ [10:30](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=630) โ€” [H3] Common misconceptions about CCPA requirements - Key idea: California privacy law only applies to larger businesses meeting thresholds - Evidence: "only applies to for-profit entities that make 25 million a year in revenue" #### โฑ๏ธ [12:15](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=735) โ€” [H1] Reseller program offers wholesale pricing - Key idea: Agencies buy at $42.24 and resell at $119 for recurring profit - Evidence: "you're buying it from us at $42.24 cents a year and then reselling them to your clients at the full 119" #### โฑ๏ธ [13:45](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=825) โ€” [H2] Affiliate program provides hands-off revenue - Key idea: 20% recurring commissions for referrals with lifetime payments - Evidence: "20% recurring commissions for the lifetime of all referrals" #### โฑ๏ธ [15:20](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=920) โ€” [H3] Reseller program suits structured agencies - Key idea: Higher profit but requires operational investment and SOPs - Evidence: "works really well for agencies that have like very strict SOPs" #### โฑ๏ธ [16:40](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=1000) โ€” [H3] Affiliate program minimizes agency involvement - Key idea: Clients work directly with Termageddon while agency earns commissions - Evidence: "much more hands-off for the agency" #### โฑ๏ธ [17:55](https://youtu.be/Yti0b66eMsk?t=1075) โ€” [H2] Complimentary onboarding available for partners - Key idea: Direct client consultation service exclusive to agency partners - Evidence: "complimentary onboarding program that isn't even visible publicly" ## ๐Ÿ“š References - [Termageddon Agency Partner Program](https://termageddon.com/tab) - [The Admin Bar Community](https://theadminbar.com) - [California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)](https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa) ## ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Paraphrase - Website privacy policies are now legally required for most sites due to data collection through forms, analytics, and third-party integrations, with significant fines for non-compliance - Termageddon offers auto-updating policies covering 125+ privacy laws at $119/year, using conditional questioning to determine applicable regulations for each business - Web agencies can create recurring revenue streams by either reselling policies at wholesale rates for higher profit or earning 20% affiliate commissions through referrals ## ๐Ÿ“ฐ Newsletter Legal compliance doesn't have to be a headache for your WordPress agency. The fines for non-compliance
[00:11] are absolutely mind-blowing, and we're
[00:13] seeing a major uptick in the number of
[00:15] companies who are being targeted for not
[00:17] having the right kinds of policies on
[00:19] their website. Now, whether or not you'd
[00:21] be liable for that as an agency owner,
[00:23] if your client gets one of these demand
[00:24] letters, you're absolutely going to be
[00:26] the first person they reach out to. And
[00:28] none of us really want to deal with that
[00:29] headache. That's why for years now I've
[00:31] been using Termageddon for all of my own
[00:33] websites, why I strongly suggest it to
[00:36] all my clients, and why I recommend it
[00:37] to everybody inside the admin bar. Now,
[00:39] I know this is starting to sound like an
[00:41] ad, and while I do have some
[00:42] partnerships with Termageddon, this
[00:44] video is not one of them. I actually
[00:46] reached out to Hans at Termageddon to
[00:48] see if he would help me with this video
[00:50] as a favor to me because I see so many
[00:52] of these conversations happening inside
[00:54] the adminar community and I just wish
[00:56] everybody else felt as confident about
[00:58] their solution as I do about mine. So in
[01:00] this quick interview, Hans is going to
[01:02] explain how the Termageddon system works
[01:04] and better than that, how you can
[01:06] actually turn this into a recurring
[01:08] revenue stream for your agency while
[01:10] protecting your clients at the same
[01:11] time. So, Hans, we see all the privacy
[01:14] policy and terms of service links inside
[01:16] footers. We're bombarded by all the
[01:18] cookie banners. Is all that stuff
[01:19] actually even really that important?
[01:22] >> Uh, yes, they are. And I I know we want
[01:25] to hope that it's not the case like, oh,
[01:28] I I wish I didn't have to really think
[01:30] about this stuff, but the reality is we
[01:32] do. Uh, anyone in the web world, we are
[01:34] building websites for clients that
[01:36] collect data like names and emails
[01:37] through contact forms, IP addresses
[01:39] through analytics tools. We need to be
[01:42] coming to terms with reality which is
[01:44] that we are helping our customers
[01:46] collect regulated data. We should not
[01:48] downplay this. We should inform them
[01:49] about their legal requirements of having
[01:51] a website and address it upfront because
[01:55] website owners are actively being
[01:57] targeted for privacy law non-compliance
[01:59] as we do this recording. And so it is a
[02:02] big deal. But the good news is there's
[02:04] tools out there on how to get it
[02:05] addressed.
[02:07] >> Absolutely. And obviously termageddon is
[02:09] one of those tools which is why we're
[02:10] chatting today. So what is termageddon
[02:12] exactly? Like if you explained it in a
[02:14] nutshell.
[02:15] >> Yeah. So termageddon is an auto updating
[02:18] website policies and consent solution.
[02:20] So our that is to summarize it that is
[02:23] everything we do. We auto up we you
[02:24] generate policies with termageddon. We
[02:26] automatically update them over time via
[02:28] our embed codes which you copy and paste
[02:30] into the body of your policy pages. We
[02:32] provide consent solutions that are
[02:34] tailored to the actual laws that apply
[02:36] to you. And why this matters is well, we
[02:39] don't want to be fined or sued because
[02:40] we're running a website. That's like the
[02:42] last thing we want to think about. Um,
[02:44] so let's put a solution in place that is
[02:46] not just a static one-time, oh, I just
[02:48] put on my site, I'm good to go forever.
[02:50] No, no, no. Termagan is a strategy to
[02:52] keep up to date with the ever changing
[02:54] privacy law landscape. Um, so it were
[02:56] $119 a year for a full set of policies
[02:59] and a consent solution.
[03:01] And you mentioned a couple of those
[03:02] things like the auto updating and the
[03:04] making sure that you're checking for all
[03:07] the applicable laws. Is that a way you
[03:09] differentiate from other competitors on
[03:11] the market? Because I know there's other
[03:12] solutions out there for this kind of
[03:14] thing.
[03:15] >> Yeah, that that's one of our big
[03:16] differentiators. Uh we cover a little
[03:19] over 125 privacy related laws, rules,
[03:22] and regulations and consumer protection
[03:24] laws. Um which is I think 5x more than
[03:27] anyone else on the planet. I think that
[03:28] just speaks to having an actual privacy
[03:30] attorney be one of the founders of this
[03:32] tech company. Um, you know, our
[03:34] foundation ha has and will always be to
[03:37] find out what disclosures you need to
[03:39] make and what type of consent tool you
[03:40] need on your website. You first need to
[03:42] find out what laws apply. Once you find
[03:44] out what laws apply, each law tells you
[03:46] what you need to say in those policies.
[03:48] So, our tool starts by finding out what
[03:49] laws apply and only from there do we ask
[03:52] the questions necessary to make the
[03:53] respective disclosures under those laws.
[03:55] So, that's the big differentiator. One
[03:57] of the big ones uh for us is being
[04:00] privacy attorney founded u for one, but
[04:02] also find out the laws that apply
[04:04] because that will literally dictate
[04:05] everything else and uh that's exactly
[04:07] where our tool starts you off with when
[04:09] going through our questionnaire.
[04:11] >> So we obviously uh are connected through
[04:13] the fact that I run a community for
[04:15] agencies and I know Termagdon does a lot
[04:17] of stuff that's specific for web
[04:19] agencies. So, can you tell me why a web
[04:21] agency or a freelancer, somebody that's
[04:22] selling website services to a client
[04:24] would pick Termagdon over some of the
[04:26] other solutions?
[04:27] >> Yeah, so earlier I I mentioned how my
[04:29] wife's the privacy attorney, the real
[04:31] brains of the operation. Um, and you
[04:33] know, that's the right foundation to
[04:35] getting everything properly set up
[04:36] that's comprehensive. My background is I
[04:38] ran a 10person agency uh prior to
[04:41] selling it and going full-time
[04:42] termageddon. And so, I built Termageddon
[04:45] to tailor two agencies and their
[04:47] clients. Like I that's so it's it's our
[04:49] DNA. That is how we built our program. I
[04:52] wanted agencies to first off get a free
[04:54] license for their own website. Like join
[04:56] as a partner, take the time to learn our
[04:58] tool, get something free while you're at
[05:00] it. Um so you can see do I like this?
[05:03] Could I see myself recommending this to
[05:05] my clients? And if you do like what you
[05:06] see, you can recommend our solution with
[05:08] our affiliate or reseller programs. So
[05:10] you can make a little recurring revenue
[05:12] while you help your clients get
[05:13] protected. And our entire dashboard is
[05:16] built to be agency clients uh friendly.
[05:18] You know, right when you log in as a
[05:19] partner, you'll see all your licenses in
[05:21] one dashboard view. You can drill down
[05:23] into individual clients, issue
[05:25] individual license access to each of
[05:27] your clients. The list goes on and on.
[05:29] But high level, our DNA is working with
[05:31] agency partners. That's how we built
[05:33] this company.
[05:34] >> That's great. And and you mentioned the
[05:36] dashboard there. So setting up policies.
[05:38] I don't know anything about the legal
[05:40] mumbo jumbo that goes into that. So,
[05:42] what what's all involved in getting a
[05:44] policy set up? How does all that work?
[05:46] >> Yeah. To get proper policies set up, you
[05:49] need to find out what laws apply to you.
[05:51] And um that's ground level one, like
[05:54] find out what laws apply because that
[05:55] will dictate everything else. It'll
[05:57] determine if you need uh a privacy
[05:59] policy to make privacy law disclosures.
[06:01] Um privacy policy needed for virtually
[06:03] any website in this day and age. If
[06:05] you're collecting names and emails
[06:06] through contact forms, you likely need a
[06:08] privacy policy. um terms of service,
[06:11] otherwise known as terms of use. These
[06:12] are the this type of policy is just a
[06:14] laundry list of reasons why website
[06:16] visitors can't sue you. Um so when you
[06:18] go through our questionnaire, we
[06:19] basically help you determine what laws
[06:21] apply and then as our questionnaire
[06:23] adapts, um we'll ask you additional
[06:25] questions to make sure we get all the
[06:27] disclosures in there that you
[06:28] specifically are required to make.
[06:31] >> So all those questions are basically
[06:33] conditional. So if we answer one way,
[06:35] you give us the next set of questions if
[06:37] we answer differently. That's how it's
[06:38] kind of tailored.
[06:39] >> That's exactly right. Um I can't tell
[06:41] you how many times uh people come to us
[06:43] saying, "Oh, I I need CCPA disclosures,
[06:45] which is a California privacy law." And
[06:48] that law only applies to for-profit
[06:50] entities that make 25 million a year in
[06:52] revenue or or surpass some other
[06:54] thresholds. For the sake of this
[06:55] interview, I'm not going to go into the
[06:56] details. CCPA, which is actually called
[06:58] CPA. Now, for the record, that only
[07:00] applies to larger businesses,
[07:02] broadstrokes purposes. And so when I see
[07:04] a plumber coming to me or a nonprofit
[07:06] coming to me, I need CCPA, I I just we
[07:09] have to peel that layer back and be
[07:10] like, "No, you need to make the
[07:11] disclosures you're required to make
[07:12] because California has some nasty other
[07:14] privacy laws that are likely much more
[07:16] uh of importance that you get addressed
[07:18] rather than a law that wouldn't apply to
[07:20] you in the first place." And that's a
[07:22] really big distinction between Termagdan
[07:23] and other uh providers is we have one
[07:26] price, $119 a year, whether you need to
[07:28] comply with one law or 100. And and and
[07:30] and I like it being that simple because
[07:32] I don't want to nickel and dime people
[07:34] for, oh, you want this new law? Oh,
[07:36] that's going to cost you an extra 20
[07:37] bucks a year. Like, none of that. Like,
[07:38] it's it's annoying enough that I have to
[07:41] go through the policy generation
[07:42] process. I don't want to be nickeled and
[07:44] dimed along the way.
[07:45] >> But you mentioned uh for agencies that
[07:47] there's a reseller option. There's also
[07:49] an affiliate option. Can you tell us a
[07:51] little bit about how that works as far
[07:52] as from the agency perspective?
[07:55] >> Yeah, so um you you join as an agency
[07:57] partner. That means you have have access
[07:59] to both the reseller and affiliate
[08:01] programs. Meaning you can resell
[08:04] licenses to some clients. What is
[08:06] reselling? Instead of $119 a year, you
[08:08] can buy from us at $42.24
[08:11] per year. You can actually even get it
[08:14] less if you you buy you can buy right
[08:16] out the gate one at a time at wholesale
[08:18] rates. Um but if you want to like buy a
[08:20] bulk deal, you can even bring that rate
[08:21] down lower. But worst case, you're
[08:23] buying it from us at $42.24 24 cents a
[08:25] year and then reselling them to your
[08:27] clients at the full 119 a year. So that
[08:29] way you can make a recurring revenue
[08:30] stream while helping your clients get
[08:32] protected. Um the affiliate program is
[08:35] where your client pays term again
[08:37] directly and then we pay you recurring
[08:39] commission for the lifetime of all
[08:40] sales. That is currently 20% recurring
[08:44] commissions. Um it can go higher if you
[08:46] find our Easter egg in our website. Uh
[08:48] but I'll I have to leave it as that as
[08:49] being the clue. Um but 20% recurring
[08:52] commissions and um it's for the lifetime
[08:54] of all referrals and it's our thank you
[08:56] to you know recommending us. Um and
[08:58] there's pros and cons to both the
[09:00] reseller and affiliate program. Happy to
[09:01] give highle overviews if you'd like me
[09:03] to.
[09:04] >> Yeah, I know there's been confusion over
[09:05] that over should I do the resell or
[09:07] should I do the affiliate. It sounds
[09:08] like the resale probably gets you a
[09:10] little bit more profit. So that would
[09:12] probably go in the pros column there.
[09:14] But give us a little uh reasons why
[09:15] people might pick one or the other.
[09:17] >> Yeah. and you nailed the pro to the
[09:19] reseller program is that um you can make
[09:22] more recurring profit uh with the
[09:23] reseller program, but the con is that
[09:25] it's a lot more hands-on work. You have
[09:27] to make sure you share the license with
[09:29] the client, make sure that they've
[09:30] reviewed their their questionnaire. I I
[09:33] would say the reseller program works
[09:34] really well for agencies that have like
[09:36] very strict SOPs that they follow or
[09:38] maybe they're very niche focused where
[09:40] they know the typical license is going
[09:42] to have kind of the same foundation
[09:44] again and again. And with the reseller
[09:46] program, you can duplicate previously
[09:47] built licenses so you can like expedite
[09:49] setups. Um, so reseller program really
[09:52] beneficial if you have kind of your
[09:54] operations down. It's like boom boom
[09:56] boom and and you want to invest that
[09:57] upfront time to really learning how best
[09:59] to resell um our product. Um, the
[10:02] affiliate program is much more for like,
[10:04] you know, I want to focus on web design.
[10:06] I don't really want to do privacy policy
[10:08] stuff. I'm just going to recommend
[10:09] clients go directly to you. Um, and that
[10:12] that means the client comes to us, pays
[10:13] us directly, they go through the
[10:15] questionnaire, and then share the
[10:16] license with your partner account when
[10:17] they're done. So, you can get the codes
[10:18] to add to their site. It's way more
[10:20] hands-off uh for the agency. And we even
[10:23] have a complimentary onboarding program
[10:25] that isn't even visible publicly. It's
[10:27] only visible to our agency partners. Um,
[10:29] where you can actually connect us
[10:30] directly with your client. We'll book a
[10:32] call with them. We'll walk them through
[10:33] everything. Um, and what's great is, you
[10:35] know, you the partner, you just educate
[10:37] clients about their legal requirements.
[10:38] offer term again as a potential
[10:40] solution. Clients get connected with us,
[10:42] we walk them through everything and then
[10:43] we pay you. Um, so yeah, if you go the
[10:46] affiliate program with term again, there
[10:47] will never be a moment in time you ever
[10:49] pay us. In fact, we will be the ones
[10:50] paying you for the lifetime of your
[10:52] referrals. Um, so the con to the
[10:55] affiliate program though is the
[10:56] commissions. It's like 20% commission.
[10:58] Um, so you don't make as much money. Uh,
[11:00] no one's going to be retiring with
[11:01] Termagdon. Uh, but making a little money
[11:03] coming in every year, you know, that
[11:05] stuff adds up over time. So
[11:06] >> yeah. And you said you don't have to
[11:08] pick one or the other. You could do both
[11:10] simultaneously.
[11:11] >> Yeah. If you want to resell to some of
[11:13] your clients and then do the affiliate
[11:15] program for others, uh, by all means. My
[11:17] favorite is when agencies are like, "I'm
[11:18] going to take the fun clients, the ones
[11:20] I like, and I'm going to send you all
[11:21] the ones I don't like." And I'm like,
[11:23] honestly, I do the same. So, so yeah, by
[11:26] all means, resell to some, do the
[11:28] affiliate for others. What matters is
[11:29] you apply to be a partner and you're
[11:31] approved. you know, when you apply,
[11:33] provide a real website, provide a
[11:35] professional email, you'll get approved.
[11:36] Um, and and then from there, you have
[11:39] that access to be able to do both
[11:40] programs.
[11:41] >> Perfect. I'll make sure everybody has
[11:43] the links to all that wherever you're
[11:44] finding this video. And Hans, I really
[11:46] appreciate you taking a little bit of
[11:47] time to explain how everything works to
[11:49] us today.
[11:50] >> Thanks so much, Kyle.
[11:52] >> If you're interested in learning more,
[11:53] then go over to termageddon.com/tab
[11:56] where you can sign up for free to become
[11:58] an agency partner. that will actually
[12:00] unlock two free licenses for you instead
[12:02] of one. But more importantly, it gives
[12:04] you access to all the agency specific
[12:06] tools has developed. These will help you
[12:09] inform, educate, and sell policies to
[12:11] your clients. My two favorite of those
[12:13] are the website policies waiver, which I
[12:15] include in all of my contracts and the
[12:17] pre-written email sequences. Like I said
[12:19] before, I gain nothing from sharing this
[12:21] video or for you clicking my link. I
[12:23] just really believe in Termagdon and I
[12:25] wish everybody felt as confident about
[12:27] their solution as I do. Now, I know this
[12:29] video was a little bit different than
[12:30] what I normally do, but if you have any
[12:32] questions, let me know down in the
[12:33] comments below. ## Highlights - it.
