## ๐ Summary
- Restream hosted a live Q&A reviewing their 2026 product changelog and discussing industry news affecting content creators
- Key platform updates covered include Twitch allowing combined multi-platform chat displays, dual format streaming expansions, and Apple Podcasts adding video support
- The session focused heavily on community questions about feature requests, platform integrations, and streaming setup optimization
- Technical discussions centered on vertical video optimization, multi-platform streaming challenges, and API limitations with various social platforms
- Restream's development priorities emphasize Studio customization, portrait mode improvements, and better integration capabilities
## ๐ Main Content
The stream covered significant industry developments affecting multistreaming creators. Twitch's policy reversal now allows streamers to display combined chat from multiple platforms without enforcement actions, removing a major barrier to multi-platform broadcasting. This change came after community feedback, particularly following incidents with creators like British streamer Gigok.
Apple's announcement of video podcast support represents a major shift in the podcasting landscape, allowing creators to upload video content alongside traditional audio. This uses HLS protocol for dynamic quality switching, similar to Netflix and YouTube, suggesting potential future live streaming capabilities.
Platform-specific developments include X updating their video player for mobile-first vertical content and Twitch testing dual format streaming in beta. These changes reflect the industry's movement toward vertical content optimization across traditionally horizontal platforms.
The technical discussion revealed current limitations with platform APIs, particularly Instagram's lack of third-party integration support and TikTok's restricted chat API access. These restrictions require manual workarounds that complicate the multistreaming experience.

So stay tuned for that.
[03:03] This is a great opportunity to kind of
[03:05] revisit all the new updates, new
[03:07] features, and cool new stuff that we
[03:09] shared um recently. And uh we'll just
[03:12] kind of like go along chronologically at
[03:15] what we uh were able to deliver and take
[03:17] your questions as we go.
[03:19] >> So that's very exciting
[03:21] >> in two months. Yes. It's only a lot of
[03:24] stuff.
[03:24] >> Yeah. Oh, here's here comes I mean only
[03:28] appropriate to celebrate that with a
[03:30] bunch of balloons. Uh but Charles has
[03:32] the link. There's also a cure code right
[03:34] right next to Charles to scan if you are
[03:37] if you have your uh cell phone handy to
[03:39] uh kind of follow along on all the new
[03:42] updates. Uh but before we jump there, uh
[03:46] there are a few things that we
[03:47] definitely want to do. Uh first of all,
[03:50] if you are not yet subscribed to
[03:52] stream's YouTube channel, please do that
[03:53] because we are trying to grow our uh
[03:56] subscribers. Uh if you're watching us
[03:58] somewhere else such as on LinkedIn X, uh
[04:01] Facebook, uh Instagram I believe and Tik
[04:03] Tok. Uh we love to
[04:08] see you guys come back and we would love
[04:10] to announce all the new upcoming events
[04:12] for you as well. So you can stay tuned
[04:14] with what's coming. We're live every
[04:15] Wednesday, so this is pretty uh
[04:18] consistent place to get to know us, to
[04:21] hang out, to ask your questions. Very
[04:23] casual format. Uh I do rotate different
[04:25] hosts uh that are hosting these events
[04:28] with me. Sometimes we have product
[04:29] managers, sometimes we have founding
[04:30] team or my uh awesome team of video
[04:34] producers and marketers like today. Uh
[04:37] we are going to look into the chat and
[04:40] see uh who we have here today. I see
[04:42] Grant from Reream is uh saying such a
[04:44] celebratory balloons. That's really good
[04:46] to see. Hello uh from YouTube. Uh Sean
[04:50] is checking in says love the background
[04:52] and the countdown. Super stylish. I do
[04:54] love that one too because it's kind of
[04:56] like it's it's a little like retro like
[04:58] little lights a little gamey but not too
[05:00] much. Uh I do think that it's really
[05:01] cool for for for an intro and of course
[05:04] the music as always. Shout out to
[05:06] designer Dmitri who creates those
[05:07] countdowns. Everything from visuals to
[05:10] the tunes. He writes music for us almost
[05:12] every time. It's a new it's a new song.
[05:14] So kudos to you man. You're very
[05:16] talented. Um, so before we go to the
[05:20] change log though, I also wanted to try
[05:22] uh one more thing. You guys are
[05:24] encouraged to ask your questions and let
[05:26] us know in the comments uh where in the
[05:28] world you're watching from. Uh what are
[05:30] what is your relationship with Reream?
[05:32] Are you already using uh Reream to go
[05:35] live on multiple platforms? Are you
[05:36] using our studio? What kind of content
[05:38] do you typically stream? It's all super
[05:40] interesting for us to kind of like fill
[05:41] the room and get to know who is there,
[05:43] who is watching. And before we dive into
[05:46] the change log, I wanted to kind of do a
[05:48] little warm-up and see a few of the
[05:50] industry news or updates that we were
[05:51] able to find on social platforms that
[05:53] are related to creators. Uh, and you
[05:55] guys are super encouraged to chime in
[05:58] and share your thoughts. Uh, and you
[06:00] know, kind of let us know in the
[06:01] comments what you what you think. So,
[06:04] one of the first things that I
[06:06] discovered a few weeks ago was uh
[06:08] something that Denlans, the CEO of
[06:10] Twitch, shared about displaying multi-
[06:13] chats or displaying comments from
[06:15] multiple different platforms on Twitch
[06:17] streams. So, let's hear directly from
[06:20] him.
[06:23] In most cases, we had not been
[06:25] proactively managing or policing putting
[06:28] combined chat on screen, but it was the
[06:30] case that if a report was made, then we
[06:33] were issuing warnings. Um, in hindsight,
[06:36] we've definitely heard the feedback. So,
[06:37] to be clear, we are updating our
[06:39] enforcement guidelines to make sure we
[06:40] are not issuing enforcement actions for
[06:43] integrating combined chat on the video
[06:45] from your stream. Now, it's important to
[06:47] note the streamer is still taking
[06:49] responsibility for what happens in the
[06:51] chat from thirdparty platforms since we
[06:53] don't control that. So sorry about the
[06:56] >> So basically what he's saying here uh if
[06:58] you haven't if you missed that news is
[07:00] that now Twitch partners and Twitch
[07:02] creators are welcome to display combined
[07:05] multi-hat uh similar to this one that we
[07:08] got here on your streams if you are
[07:11] multiccasting to re through reream um to
[07:16] platforms like YouTube, Twitch, kick and
[07:18] many others. And this is kind of a big
[07:20] deal primarily because uh that used to
[07:23] be a major limitation for Twitch
[07:25] creators. So everyone wanted to go to
[07:27] multiple platforms because it helps you
[07:29] to grow your community faster. It helps
[07:30] you reach new people, find new fans,
[07:32] meet your audience where they already
[07:33] are and of course uh monetize if you are
[07:37] growing your community fast and you get
[07:38] sponsorship deals, you get donations and
[07:40] all that good stuff. So now you actually
[07:43] but before that policy was kind of in
[07:45] the way because you had to kind of
[07:47] acknowledge chat in some kind of like
[07:48] secret way but now you can actually just
[07:50] deploy just display just like we do
[07:52] right here. Uh and I think that is a big
[07:54] win for creators because now you can
[07:58] truly multiccast simolcast and truly
[08:00] bring your community together within one
[08:02] stream experience whether it's on
[08:03] YouTube, Twitch, kick or any other
[08:05] platform. So I think I think this is
[08:06] pretty exciting. What do you think?
[08:08] >> Yeah, I think it's pretty exciting. It
[08:09] seems like it was kicked off by that
[08:12] that British streamer Gigok who's like
[08:14] an anime anime anime and ranting kind of
[08:17] guy from what I gather. Uh I'm not mad
[08:19] familiar with him actually. Not not in
[08:21] my not in my genre I follow. Um and it
[08:24] seems like there was quite a backlash
[08:26] because he sort of made some comments on
[08:27] stream that made it apparent that he was
[08:29] clearly you know uh streaming elsewhere
[08:32] and and combining his chat. And so I
[08:35] think he got a warning and that sort of
[08:36] kicked off a chain of events. And I
[08:38] think that it's a really great thing.
[08:39] It's definitely it's an acknowledgement
[08:43] >> from um from Twitch about how important
[08:46] this is and how how um they are they
[08:50] have been lagging, I guess. You know, I
[08:51] think it's it's been a long time coming.
[08:53] It was sort of inevitable, right? And I
[08:55] think now it's a it's a good time. It
[08:57] does seem like they are
[09:00] >> I mean there are two announcements from
[09:02] Twitch, aren't there?
[09:03] >> Right. So one, you know, the timing of
[09:05] it, is there anything to read into that?
[09:06] And and I wonder the other thing I'm
[09:08] thinking about is like so they are not
[09:11] taking any risk really because the the
[09:14] the onus is still on um the creator to
[09:18] take responsibility for what's displayed
[09:20] on their stream. So and that's
[09:21] particularly pertinent in like the EU
[09:23] and the UK where they have quite strict
[09:25] regulations around this you know online
[09:28] communications. So, you know, I'm not
[09:31] sure I have I don't have strong opinions
[09:34] either way. You know, how does how do
[09:36] how do you guys feel about it? Does it
[09:38] is this going to be net net positive or
[09:40] does it reduce restrictions or is it
[09:43] going to create more issues? You know,
[09:46] >> is siloing your audience
[09:48] >> better in the chat? I think not.
[09:51] >> Right. I think probably for me the
[09:53] biggest takeaway from this specific uh
[09:55] piece of news uh and I'll just come back
[09:57] to this real quick. uh we will not be
[10:00] playing it again
[10:01] >> but I think uh I think it is uh very
[10:04] important that it's to me it signals
[10:07] that uh giant platforms like Twitch are
[10:09] actually open to feedback from the
[10:10] community and uh the opportunity and the
[10:13] power that creators have when they say
[10:15] hey actually we need this we are
[10:17] benefiting from this kind of approach we
[10:19] are benefiting from this kind of
[10:20] features and from this kind of tools and
[10:21] this kind of um you know solutions
[10:25] that that goes through right and then
[10:26] eventually uh turns into changes in
[10:29] policies, changes in features,
[10:30] delivering uh better experiences, uh
[10:33] better UI, UX and so on. So to me, this
[10:35] is really exciting to see like even
[10:38] really really big platforms like Twitch
[10:39] who don't necessarily have to you know
[10:41] listen to feedback um because they have
[10:43] so much power over um you know what what
[10:46] content creators world looks like. Uh
[10:48] but they are definitely moving in the
[10:50] direction that like hey it's it's going
[10:51] to be a better world if we uh if we
[10:53] collaborate and if we listen to the
[10:54] needs of each other. So that was that
[10:56] was really uh really nice. Uh on the
[10:59] topic of Twitch, there's another
[11:01] interesting announcement that I wanted
[11:03] to also
[11:04] >> right
[11:04] >> uh cover today. Uh and I see some
[11:06] questions in the chat about dual output
[11:09] which is as always very very exciting.
[11:11] Uh so we discovered that uh Twitch is
[11:14] also starting to test dual format
[11:16] streaming on Twitch. It is currently in
[11:18] beta. It was announced recently a few
[11:20] weeks ago I believe. Uh only a few
[11:23] creators probably have access to it. If
[11:24] you're one of those creators and you
[11:26] want to share your experience, please
[11:27] please please let us know in the chat
[11:28] how did that go? Uh what what does it
[11:31] look like for you? Uh was it was it
[11:33] beneficial? Did it feel good to do it?
[11:34] Was it easy to figure out? Uh but I do
[11:37] know from our team from our technical
[11:39] folks that we are looking into the API
[11:42] for this. So we are going to proactively
[11:44] work directly with the Twitch team to
[11:46] hopefully bring this in uh into the
[11:48] restream system as well as soon as it's
[11:50] ready. So super exciting news. Uh
[11:52] basically right now YouTube already
[11:55] allows dual format which means streaming
[11:57] in landscape or horizontal and portrait
[11:59] or vertical format at the same time on
[12:01] the same channel. So you could capture
[12:03] audiences from vertical feeds as well as
[12:05] deliver your stream in the best and
[12:07] optimized way for any viewer on any
[12:10] screen out there. Uh so Twitch is um
[12:13] catching up and uh that is also great
[12:16] news for for reream creators because we
[12:18] do offer dual streaming on both uh
[12:21] options of using reream whether you're
[12:23] using it with OBS through uh our free
[12:25] vertical plug-in or in studio which is
[12:28] what we're using right now. Our stream
[12:29] is actually live in two formats on
[12:31] YouTube channel in reream. You can see
[12:34] our version in horizontal and in
[12:35] vertical. So, if you basically just
[12:37] click on reream YouTube, you should see
[12:38] two live events kind of in parallel. And
[12:40] depending on what kind of device you're
[12:43] watching on, you can choose which
[12:44] version works better for you. So,
[12:46] hopefully it's coming to Twitch.
[12:48] >> Yeah,
[12:49] >> sorry. Yeah, with that combined chat.
[12:51] >> Yeah, with that combined chat. Exactly.
[12:52] So, all the chat messages are coming
[12:54] through and then even analytics, which
[12:56] is something we'll touch on in the very
[12:57] end of the stream are also going to show
[12:59] us how many viewers we received from
[13:01] each of those events. So, really good
[13:03] way to capture uh and meet your
[13:05] audience. exactly where they are in
[13:07] whether they're on the go watching on
[13:08] the mobile phone or watching on big TV
[13:11] at home uh you know delivering the best
[13:13] experience for for all of them.
[13:15] >> It does show that uh you know these
[13:18] companies as you were saying taking
[13:19] feedback and they're recognizing what
[13:20] each other is doing and they're
[13:21] recognizing trends within the market and
[13:23] and trends in what people want. I think
[13:25] that this also raises a question though
[13:27] uh it raises a point that when you're
[13:30] making your stream you got to design for
[13:32] that stream um to be in both formats.
[13:34] you need to think about your stream a
[13:36] little bit more, especially if you're
[13:38] doing on machine, you know, through
[13:40] through an encoder like OBS. However, if
[13:42] you're using an online service like
[13:43] Reream, it's going to dynamically change
[13:46] for you. A lot of that heavy lifting is
[13:48] done in terms of not just the design, in
[13:50] fact, having a machine that's capable of
[13:52] multistreaming in dual formats and
[13:55] probably recording as well, you know, if
[13:57] you're going to be recording locally as
[13:58] well. So, you know, these are
[14:01] considerations now that it's it's it's
[14:03] twice the amount of data, right? So,
[14:05] >> yeah.
[14:07] >> Yeah, absolutely. So, yeah, would love
[14:09] to hear um any any thoughts on this one.
[14:12] If you guys uh know anything about uh
[14:14] the dual Twitch and if you tried it, let
[14:16] us know in the comments. We'll
[14:17] definitely bring this up. Moving on with
[14:20] news, uh, another big thing that was
[14:21] actually trending well on LinkedIn and
[14:24] among professional audiences is Apple,
[14:26] our friends who make iPhones and
[14:29] MacBooks decided to announce that now
[14:32] they will also allow video podcasting.
[14:35] So if you uh historically if you had a
[14:38] podcast uh you always wanted to be on a
[14:40] platform like Apple podcast or Spotify
[14:42] podcast because that is where the
[14:44] audience and the listeners can find you.
[14:47] Now, Apple allows you to also upload
[14:49] videos, and this is super exciting
[14:52] because that basically unlocks more
[14:55] opportunities for creators who use Ram
[14:57] Studio. Historically, if you wanted to
[14:59] repurpose your live shows, live series
[15:01] like the ones that we're hosting right
[15:02] now into a podcast, what you needed to
[15:04] do is you would need to download the
[15:07] audio files separately, then uh
[15:09] basically edit them because usually
[15:11] podcasts are a little bit more polished
[15:12] and edited than live events and live
[15:14] shows. and then use uh thirdparty
[15:17] platforms something like Ankor to
[15:19] distribute uh the podcast into the
[15:22] podcasting platforms like Apple and
[15:24] Spotify. So what happens now is that as
[15:26] they expand to video then that means
[15:28] that you can also add it and upload your
[15:31] video like your live show uh into Apple
[15:33] podcast and then the audience can choose
[15:35] between audio only or audio plus plus
[15:37] video. We currently do not have a full
[15:39] integration with that because this has
[15:41] just been announced and Apple is talking
[15:43] about rolling this out in spring which
[15:44] is depending on where in the world you
[15:47] are either just started or hasn't
[15:48] started yet until the 22nd of March. Uh
[15:51] we are going to pay close attention to
[15:53] this and we're super excited in finding
[15:55] a way to make this process even
[15:56] smoother. So basically allow you to take
[15:59] uh videos from Reream Studio and
[16:01] hopefully in the best and fastest and
[16:03] most efficient way possible deliver them
[16:06] to um such wonderful discoverability
[16:08] platform as Apple podcasts. So we're
[16:10] definitely looking into that. Let us
[16:12] know in the comments if you are using uh
[16:14] Apple podcasts as a creator, right? Like
[16:16] what is your process right now? What do
[16:19] you do to distribute your show? Uh are
[16:21] you doing audio only? And how do you
[16:23] feel about video? Are you excited? Does
[16:25] it sound a little challenging? Does it
[16:27] sound like it's going to be a lot more
[16:28] work? You had your microphone all set
[16:30] up. Now you have to buy a camera or does
[16:32] it sound like this is the greatest news
[16:33] ever and that's what you were basically
[16:35] looking forward to for years and now
[16:38] finally it's pretty close to be here. So
[16:40] yeah, let us know your thoughts.
[16:42] >> Pretty cool. It's very cool. I think
[16:44] this this definitely legitimizes um
[16:47] video podcasts because and you know it
[16:50] seems to be that again this is something
[16:52] that Apple often follows and doesn't
[16:54] lead in many areas but when they then
[16:57] leap in they do it well so you know high
[16:59] hopes for this and certainly
[17:01] >> uh I I don't what is the the in the um
[17:05] they're using a system is it HLS they're
[17:07] using which means it's actually a
[17:08] delivery system um
[17:10] >> so the HLS
[17:11] >> protocol
[17:12] >> yeah HLS is just the protocol I actually
[17:14] had a great conversation about this with
[17:16] Andrew our CTO yesterday because I was
[17:17] trying to understand the connection. So
[17:19] HLS is just like a very technical detail
[17:20] that explains how exactly the streaming
[17:23] protocol which is different from RTMP uh
[17:26] delivers the uh the video. It basically
[17:28] chops it into really really tiny chunks.
[17:30] Right.
[17:31] >> Yeah. And then delivers it for like
[17:33] better uploading experience. Uh
[17:35] especially if you're on the mobile and
[17:36] the go with maybe spotted internet. uh
[17:38] it just like allows for like easier kind
[17:40] of like uploads uh by by chopping it
[17:42] into smaller pieces, but it doesn't um
[17:45] for creators at Reream, if you're trying
[17:47] to create a show and you want it to be
[17:49] on Apple Podcast, you don't have to
[17:51] worry about that at all. You basically
[17:52] just record your video or audio in
[17:54] studio as it comes and then um and and
[17:58] then you upload it to Apple the same way
[18:00] you would do. So like the protocol here
[18:02] doesn't really doesn't really matter.
[18:04] The point that I was going to make is
[18:05] that uh this is this is a protocol that
[18:08] like Netflix and and YouTube use to
[18:10] dynamically switch in quality. So, it
[18:12] shows that they're not they're not just
[18:13] like, "Oh, you can upload an MP4 now."
[18:15] It's they're actually they're actually
[18:17] developing this. And one wonders whether
[18:19] that points towards perhaps live
[18:21] podcasts, you know, or live streaming.
[18:24] >> Maybe I'm just, you know, I don't know.
[18:26] I don't know. I'm just asking questions
[18:28] here.
[18:28] >> Right. Exactly. So, yeah, that's another
[18:31] important thing that uh for for now,
[18:33] this is definitely pre-recorded content
[18:35] that we're talking about. So, you you
[18:36] will use you studio mostly as a
[18:39] recording software, not necessarily as a
[18:40] live software. However, with reream
[18:42] local recordings feature as you all know
[18:44] about, it's very easy to combine the two
[18:46] and create a live show real time on
[18:49] social platforms and then take this
[18:51] recordings in the highest quality
[18:52] possible and then upload them as your
[18:54] podcast. So basically you you're doing a
[18:57] lot less work and creating content in
[18:59] different formats on different platforms
[19:00] with different distribution
[19:02] possibilities and maybe eventually the
[19:04] next step of that evolution will be live
[19:06] podcasts uh which will be absolutely
[19:08] amazing. I would totally watch or listen
[19:10] to a live podcast on Apple platforms. Uh
[19:12] that would be that would be a dream. So
[19:13] I would I would definitely enjoy that. I
[19:15] think part part of the reason for this
[19:17] move is that uh of course Apple is
[19:19] seeing that YouTube is taking a big
[19:21] chunk of that market, right? Like
[19:22] YouTube is taking over podcasting and
[19:25] they're kind of like hm what what is one
[19:28] thing that YouTube does differently,
[19:29] right? Like because they have audio
[19:30] versions too. Uh but of course they win
[19:33] big in video. So that's why I think
[19:35] Apple is um looking in the right
[19:37] direction and catching up as well. So
[19:39] that's good to see.
[19:40] >> I mean I I love I use YouTube music
[19:42] because it's sort of bundled in with my
[19:44] YouTube Premium and
[19:46] >> I find myself listening to music and
[19:48] then I'm like, "Oh, I'd like to I'd like
[19:49] to watch the the video that goes with
[19:51] this music and you just it's a single
[19:53] click and bang, it goes straight over."
[19:54] Especially if I'm in the car, I'm like
[19:56] watch the video and that now I'm driving
[19:58] now. I just want it audio only. And that
[20:00] I think that that dynamic switching is
[20:02] going to change my habits especially if
[20:04] I can do it in in Apple podcasts. I
[20:06] think and I don't think I'm alone there.
[20:09] >> Absolutely. Uh and kind of switching
[20:11] gears back to vertical uh formats which
[20:14] is all over the news this past two
[20:16] weeks. Um something that we also spotted
[20:18] on axe uh a conversation about uh
[20:21] updating video players for X. So we are
[20:25] actually live on Rereamax and my
[20:27] personal X account. Uh we might have a
[20:29] few more channels paired but I don't
[20:31] know actually what happened to that.
[20:32] That might be part of the of the little
[20:34] hiccup uh that happened earlier. But uh
[20:37] we are live on reream X and if you're
[20:40] watching us there uh you can you can see
[20:42] that currently we are going live uh
[20:45] horizontally in landscape mode but X is
[20:48] making some changes and updating its
[20:51] video player and they are looking in the
[20:54] direction of making portrait and mobile
[20:56] first content for video which also
[20:59] applies to live video. So as you can see
[21:02] there's a discussion here uh basically
[21:04] they're doing this new immersive video
[21:06] player uh and it's going to be refreshed
[21:09] and um the recommendation from X is that
[21:13] you should do vertical on X and
[21:17] basically think of X as a mobile
[21:18] platform as well. Uh we tested it before
[21:21] this update actually launched and right
[21:23] now it still seems like uh horizontal
[21:25] format is a little better for X. Uh but
[21:28] we keep keep keeping an eye on that and
[21:31] hopefully eventually
[21:33] uh landscape uh versus vertical will
[21:36] either be both possible or it will be a
[21:38] choice that you can make depending on
[21:39] where you know your audience is
[21:40] watching. If they're mostly mobile and
[21:42] most of X viewership and traffic is
[21:44] actually uh coming from mobile devices.
[21:47] Uh that might be an interesting thing to
[21:49] to look into. So potentially X is
[21:52] turning into into mobile platform just
[21:54] like Tik Tok and Instagram. So that's
[21:56] it's interesting news. Uh I am going to
[21:59] go ahead and take a few questions from
[22:01] our chat because I know we had a few
[22:04] things pinned. Uh and those are mostly
[22:06] about news that we just discussed. Uh
[22:08] and change lock is up next. So let's
[22:11] have a look. Uh there are some uh
[22:14] questions that are just kind of like
[22:15] about everything. So I'll take I'll take
[22:17] them as they come. Is this going to have
[22:19] more stuff to addit for your stream
[22:21] setup? Uh good question Jay. It really
[22:24] depends on what you mean by stream
[22:26] setup. So there are two ways to go live
[22:29] with restream, right? There's uh encoder
[22:31] path uh when you use something like OBS
[22:33] and then you connect it to reream and
[22:35] then it multiccast it on all social
[22:37] platforms at the same time. And there is
[22:38] Reream Studio where you basically use
[22:41] Reream web browser based a virtual
[22:43] studio to create your stream invite
[22:46] guests create graphics show chats and
[22:48] all the cool things that you see here
[22:50] from logos that's the logo to cure codes
[22:53] to overlays and and uh layouts and like
[22:56] how you basically position your content.
[22:58] So if you're talking about more things
[23:00] in terms of editing your layouts in
[23:02] studio, please clarify. will definitely
[23:05] update you on what's coming because
[23:06] there's definitely a lot more that is in
[23:08] development right now to make to give
[23:10] you even more flexibility with layouts
[23:12] with customizations with uh graphics. Uh
[23:15] if you are using something like OBS then
[23:18] you already have a ton of customization
[23:19] right there. There's not a lot of
[23:20] control we have over the open source
[23:22] platform. Uh so for them we just remain
[23:25] as a multistreaming uh integration or
[23:28] addition. Uh so just let us know how
[23:30] exactly you stream and what setup you're
[23:32] looking to add it more. Uh question
[23:36] number two is it's also from YouTube.
[23:39] Will stream find a way to make it easier
[23:40] to stream through Instagram? We would
[23:43] love to find that way. Um and uh yeah uh
[23:47] the challenge here is that Instagram API
[23:51] does not allow a more smooth integration
[23:54] like other platforms do. So, for
[23:56] example, when you're streaming on
[23:57] YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, uh, and
[24:00] many many other platforms, including Tik
[24:02] Tok, actually, that was one of the
[24:03] integrations that I had a uh, an honor
[24:05] to work on a few years ago. Uh, it was
[24:08] very exciting
[24:10] when the end platform allows us to
[24:12] connect through API, that allows us in
[24:14] our interface to create a simple toggle
[24:17] when you just basically enable that
[24:19] channel and then the stream just goes
[24:20] there directly. uh and it takes your
[24:23] title, your information, your video
[24:25] feed, everything that's happening on
[24:26] your studio screen and sends it directly
[24:29] to the platform. But not all platforms
[24:30] do have this integration and currently
[24:32] the difficulty with connecting to
[24:34] Instagram is on Instagram's side because
[24:36] they do not open this integration to
[24:38] thirdparty applications and partners
[24:39] like reream. Uh you have to go through
[24:42] some additional steps. in particular. Um
[24:44] the steps are to open Instagram live
[24:48] tab, copy the stream key, paste it in
[24:50] reream channel uh section and then start
[24:53] when you start a stream on reream, you
[24:55] have to go back to Instagram and hit go
[24:57] live. It's not ideal because it's a lot
[24:59] of extra steps and it's very easy to
[25:01] forget to do some of those steps. Um
[25:04] however, this is basically how Instagram
[25:06] has it set up right now. We would love
[25:09] to change that, but it depends on
[25:11] Instagram. And coming back to our
[25:12] earlier news about how Twitch is
[25:14] listening to feedback, I do believe that
[25:16] the best way to achieve that is for
[25:18] creators themselves to reach out to
[25:20] Instagram on a regular basis and ask
[25:22] them for for help and tell them that we
[25:24] need this tools, we need uh resources
[25:26] like Reream to be able to multiccast to
[25:29] Instagram to offer higher quality
[25:33] production and to also continue
[25:34] multiccasting including within mata
[25:36] ecosystem, right? Because you might be
[25:38] wanting to go live on Facebook and
[25:40] Instagram at the same time. So basically
[25:41] keeping your content within the same
[25:43] platform but just on different channels.
[25:46] So this kind of feedback would probably
[25:48] be very helpful. Um and of course on our
[25:50] side we continue working our
[25:52] integrations and business development
[25:53] team continues to work on creating this
[25:55] making this possible. Uh but right now
[25:57] the ball is on the court of tell of
[26:00] Instagram.
[26:01] >> So the short answer is not for want of
[26:03] trying like we're we're trying
[26:05] >> we're trying. Yeah we're doing our best.
[26:06] So yeah any help is much appreciated. If
[26:08] you know somebody who works at Instagram
[26:10] and would like to introduce us uh I
[26:13] would be very happy to to meet that
[26:16] person uh and get the ball rolling. Uh
[26:18] great question. Is there a timeline on
[26:20] vertical canvas editing in reream
[26:23] studio? Yes. So our portrait mode which
[26:26] is what we're using right now right like
[26:27] we are in both uh horizontal and
[26:29] vertical uh is undergoing a lot of
[26:33] construction development improvement and
[26:37] uh kind of like enhancements as we
[26:39] speak. Literally today I believe we did
[26:41] update a few um layouts that are now
[26:45] also working on portrait as as well as
[26:47] they work on landscape. Uh more
[26:49] customizations are coming. Chat overlay
[26:52] is definitely coming. So there will be
[26:54] more um customizations, more freedom to
[26:57] add it, more opportunities to move
[26:58] things around. I also believe and
[27:00] correct me if you're if I'm wrong, uh
[27:02] Trent that you're asking if you can move
[27:05] basically the So currently we we in
[27:09] studio automate how your vertical layout
[27:13] is going to look like, right? Like so
[27:14] for example, right now it's me and
[27:16] Charles, we're together and the vertical
[27:18] feed receives basically us on top of
[27:19] each other. Uh so there are a few other
[27:21] versions uh and a few other things that
[27:23] we can do with it. For example, we can
[27:25] go like this. See that creates a
[27:27] slightly different variation. Um if
[27:29] you're watching us on vertical, you will
[27:31] see that that created a little more
[27:33] space for our comment. Uh versus certain
[27:36] things like for example this will
[27:38] highlight Charles or me depending on how
[27:41] we want to do it. Uh but yeah, generally
[27:43] speaking like there are a few kind of
[27:45] preset layouts and variations that you
[27:47] can work with. Uh but uh more is coming
[27:51] to studio for sure. This is our number
[27:52] one priority right now.
[27:54] >> Customization is essentially what what
[27:57] you're saying there, isn't it? Like the
[27:58] rounded corners and you know changing
[28:00] the layouts, but of course these things
[28:01] have to work dynamically across every
[28:04] element that you have in your studio,
[28:06] you know, on your screen. So um making
[28:09] sure that it all stays correct because
[28:11] there are always cases where you know
[28:13] you'll have an element that's covering
[28:14] something else up or you got a
[28:16] particularly long comment from the chat
[28:18] and so um there takes quite a lot of
[28:20] time to actually develop the the back
[28:22] end of that I guess. Um yeah so that's
[28:24] definitely something that's being worked
[28:26] on isn't it?
[28:27] >> Yeah absolutely. So great question and
[28:29] definitely in progress. Uh Techno Media
[28:32] is asking interesting. I'm on a laptop
[28:34] but the stream is showing vertical. I
[28:36] wonder how YouTube makes the
[28:36] determination on what uh viewers see. So
[28:39] right now, as of today, when you're
[28:41] streaming with Reream, it's not YouTube
[28:42] that's making the determination. It's
[28:44] you. So when you go to reream channel on
[28:48] YouTube, and you're welcome to, I
[28:49] promise it will not disappear. If you
[28:51] leave the stream and just click on
[28:54] reream YouTube channel, you will see
[28:55] there are two parallel events happening
[28:57] at the same time, right? So you
[28:59] basically have a choice which one you
[29:00] want to join. And depending on your
[29:02] screen and your preference today, you
[29:04] can click on one and then you will pick
[29:06] the landscape or you can click on the
[29:07] other and you can pick the vertical.
[29:10] This is also partially a limitation of
[29:12] like how the API works right now. So
[29:14] eventually in the future we do hope to
[29:16] bring in more kind of like optimized and
[29:18] automated version of dual format
[29:20] streaming when it will actually
[29:22] automatically adjust to your screen. And
[29:25] YouTube is working on that. We know that
[29:26] because we met with them in December. We
[29:28] were invited to their live con event
[29:30] when they talked a lot about dual format
[29:32] streaming. So it was absolutely great to
[29:34] connect with uh the YouTube team, the
[29:36] YouTube live team and understand their
[29:38] vision of this. But right now as
[29:40] iteration one as step one, reream
[29:42] creates two separate events and then
[29:44] it's kind of up to you to pick which
[29:45] format makes sense for your screen. But
[29:47] that is going to get improved too. So
[29:50] >> interest. I'm sorry.
[29:51] >> Good note. Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. Well,
[29:52] the interesting thing is, you know, you
[29:54] you you YouTube can do it where you've
[29:57] got the same event has two different
[29:59] streams, but the way that they do that
[30:00] is by just taking the center. Am I
[30:03] right? They just take the center. So, if
[30:05] you were to do that 2our stream right
[30:06] now, you'd get this bit of me and that
[30:08] bit of you. You wouldn't get it, you
[30:09] know, get half of our f. Yeah. You get
[30:11] two shoulders and, you know, half my
[30:13] giant schnoz. But, so that's no good.
[30:15] So, you want it to be, you want it to
[30:17] react dynam dynamically. And that's what
[30:19] we're doing right now in the studios.
[30:21] What you guys can't see, Anna and I can
[30:24] see is in fact we can see both our live
[30:26] um we can see both of the live screens
[30:28] for portrait and landscape and we can
[30:30] see how they dynamically change. So we
[30:32] can see what both we can see both
[30:33] streams but you at the moment you have
[30:36] to choose.
[30:37] >> Yeah, absolutely. Uh coming back to our
[30:39] news discussion, Lawson is saying I
[30:41] think a lot of creators were were
[30:42] showing multihat anyways. They didn't
[30:44] really uh have a good way to moderate
[30:46] it. This is coming back to Twitch rules.
[30:49] However, uh do not break Twitch rules.
[30:52] It's a solid advice for everybody. Do
[30:54] not break the rules of the AMP platform
[30:56] where you grow your community. Uh but
[30:58] yes, so right now it is really
[31:00] liberating that this this rule is not in
[31:02] place anymore and now you don't have to
[31:04] make this decision whether you want to
[31:05] bend rules or you want to keep your
[31:07] community together. So that's why we
[31:08] were really excited about this update
[31:10] and um yeah, absolutely. There's always
[31:14] there's there are always workarounds,
[31:15] but it's always easier when things just
[31:17] happen naturally. And um that's that's
[31:20] what happened here. Uh Anna is
[31:22] mentioning that she loves the update. Uh
[31:25] I think this is about the Apple B based
[31:28] on the on my memory of when this comment
[31:30] uh appeared. Uh so yeah, it's really
[31:32] exciting that Apple is bringing in video
[31:34] to their podcast. So stay tuned for
[31:36] that. Uh we will hopefully we'll help
[31:38] hopefully learn more about this and and
[31:40] share with you during the next couple of
[31:41] weeks. fish fam link. Turn uh that like
[31:45] button blue. Smash subscribe to show
[31:47] your appreciation. I could not miss this
[31:49] comment because this is exactly what I
[31:52] should be saying every now and then, but
[31:53] I get carried away by content and this
[31:56] is um this is really this is really
[31:58] cool. Thank you so much, Fish Fam. You
[32:01] guys are the best.
[32:03] Um all right. Uh Ryan is asking, "Are
[32:05] you guys able to publish what is
[32:07] currently in progress of development?
[32:09] What about enhancements that have been
[32:11] suggested to uh the others to upote and
[32:14] put them in place? Uh so okay so there
[32:17] are two different things here. There is
[32:19] one which is our reream um feature
[32:23] feedback collection right so this is our
[32:28] let me show the link real quick it's
[32:30] called ideas.rresteream.io.
[32:32] So this is where you can submit your
[32:34] feature request ideas and upvote things
[32:38] um that you would like to see in reream.
[32:41] The number of up votes indicates uh that
[32:45] our product team and marketing team and
[32:47] leadership team is paying more attention
[32:49] to that because the more people are
[32:50] requesting certain features the more uh
[32:52] important it is to our community and of
[32:54] course the more priority they are going
[32:56] to get. So absolutely go to ideas.io io
[32:59] submit your feature requests and upvote
[33:01] if you see something that will really
[33:02] make your life easier and better and
[33:03] make you love your stream more. However,
[33:06] we will not be publishing openly the
[33:09] actual development road map because
[33:11] first of all it's a very dynamic thing.
[33:13] It is changing partially due to ideas at
[33:15] restream.io partially due to the
[33:17] movements of the market due to the
[33:18] things that become available due to uh
[33:22] technical opportunities that the
[33:24] technical progress majorly driven by AI
[33:27] is unlocking. So there are a lot of
[33:28] things that are happening uh that
[33:30] basically change the dynamic of that.
[33:31] It's a very like living organism type
[33:33] situation. So we do not publish it
[33:35] because uh first of all it's it's just
[33:38] something that is is not that
[33:40] consistently solid. We do not create a
[33:42] road map for a year and then just follow
[33:43] it right like we listen to the market
[33:45] and to our community and and change it
[33:47] all the time. And second because it's
[33:49] really difficult for us to commit to
[33:51] certain deadlines with this dynamic
[33:53] environment. So the best way to see what
[33:56] is something that our product team is
[33:58] looking at and considering to build is
[34:00] ideas.io
[34:02] the things that get upvoted the most and
[34:04] the things that you guys are suggesting.
[34:06] The things that are already launched uh
[34:10] is something that you can find in
[34:11] restream change log and this is actually
[34:13] the topic of today. We are going to dive
[34:16] into that right after we take a few more
[34:18] comments and show you what we published
[34:20] in the what we released and shipped in
[34:22] 2026. This is a great place to go to to
[34:24] see the updates that you might have
[34:26] missed and of course to provide any
[34:28] additional feedback to us uh as we
[34:30] launch. Thanks. So great question. Uh
[34:33] absolutely love I'm just going to bring
[34:34] it back uh what's currently in prog
[34:37] what's currently in progress and in
[34:38] development. So yeah uh we do not have
[34:41] open road map uh but we do have ideas
[34:44] and we do have change log once things
[34:45] launch. Danger zone is there a timeline
[34:48] for update to a super chat donation
[34:51] visuals? Um
[34:53] so I know that we already um
[34:56] differentiate the super chats on the
[34:58] back end to the best of my knowledge.
[34:59] It's just something that we need to
[35:00] bring in into the user experience and to
[35:03] make it more obvious and more clear. It
[35:05] is on the road map. It is on the
[35:07] timeline but I do not know exactly what
[35:09] the timeline is. So sorry for kind of
[35:11] like dancing around this question. I
[35:13] know it comes up quite often. Um what I
[35:16] will do is I will uh check in with our
[35:19] product team uh the folks who are
[35:21] working on chat in particular and get a
[35:23] little bit more uh specific answer and
[35:27] hopefully follow up with you. So thank
[35:28] you for that one. It's a good one.
[35:31] Technia is also asking is stream deck
[35:33] plugin on the road map? I am not sure.
[35:36] Can you uh can you elaborate on that a
[35:39] little bit because we do have our
[35:40] shortcuts right? Um, so a lot of things
[35:42] in studio you can actually use shortcuts
[35:43] on your keyboard and things like muting
[35:45] your microphone in inviting all guests,
[35:48] turning on and off the camera can
[35:50] already be done through uh through some
[35:52] shortcuts but um the actual integration
[35:55] or an actual plugin for the stream deck.
[35:58] I personally don't remember it on the
[36:00] road map. Uh something to consider
[36:02] uploading in ideas and something to uh
[36:05] for me to check in and know better next
[36:07] time. I don't know Charles, do you know
[36:08] anything about the stream decks? Uh the
[36:10] the only stream deck integration I I
[36:12] know of and use is is you know assigning
[36:15] hotkeys. If you go to the help center
[36:16] there is there is information about
[36:18] using a stream deck and of course
[36:19] information about using hotkeys. Uh what
[36:22] would you like to see integrated? You
[36:24] know what what things do you think would
[36:26] be needed because you can already switch
[36:28] scenes and layouts and you know muting
[36:30] microphones and you know bringing in
[36:32] screen shares and all sorts of stuff I
[36:34] use. Personally, I it's funny actually.
[36:36] I've written and was making a short on
[36:38] the hotkeys uh right now and I was going
[36:40] to call it clickbait which I thought was
[36:42] amusing. So, um yeah, you know, I think
[36:45] uh there's it's definitely interesting
[36:48] because you know, actually we were
[36:50] looking at Elgato um products just this
[36:53] morning with their their wave 2.0 um I
[36:56] think they're calling it uh sort of um
[36:59] software that's being released into
[37:01] their into their new product. So, um,
[37:04] you know, integrating with Elgato or the
[37:08] cat, uh, product is definitely a good
[37:10] idea. Is that right, isn't it? Elgato.
[37:12] It must be. It must be the cat.
[37:13] >> It's It's the cat in Spanish. Yeah,
[37:15] absolutely. It might be in other
[37:16] languages, too, but in Spanish it's
[37:17] definitely cat and specifically the male
[37:19] cat because Spanish words have gender.
[37:23] Yeah.
[37:23] >> So, it would be elata. Is that what
[37:25] >> lagata? Yeah. For the girl. Yeah. Okay.
[37:28] Off topic there.
[37:29] >> Off topic there. Uh I really like I
[37:31] really like what you said though about
[37:33] like what kind of commands would you
[37:34] like to see because uh the shortcuts uh
[37:37] are actually super easy to update for us
[37:39] from the best uh from what I remember in
[37:41] early days we did have certain uh
[37:43] customers who would sometimes come in
[37:45] and say hey if only I had a way to like
[37:47] bring in all the guests or bring in uh
[37:50] screen shares was a simple shortcut I
[37:52] would love to have it and it's actually
[37:53] not that hard for us to program. So if
[37:55] there's one uh or two very specific uh
[37:58] things that you are trying to achieve in
[37:59] studio and you you're just dreaming
[38:01] about the shortcut for that let us know
[38:02] in the comments right now and also
[38:04] report to our support chat 247 live real
[38:07] humans uh a lot of times they would pass
[38:09] it directly to uh the product team uh
[38:12] you can also DM me you can find me on X
[38:15] or LinkedIn and uh send me a direct
[38:17] message because I would love to see what
[38:18] is that shortcut uh that you're looking
[38:20] for and maybe maybe I can push for it. I
[38:22] I can think of two things off the top of
[38:24] my head. I'd love to be able to just hit
[38:26] one button and my subscribe graphic come
[38:28] up and maybe fire off. Yeah. Yeah. And
[38:31] but but specific overlays
[38:33] >> and it would also maybe soundboard would
[38:35] be an interesting thing to have. I
[38:38] actually have set up a soundboard in the
[38:40] past
[38:41] >> going through reream using a stream deck
[38:43] and uh it wasn't the simplest or most
[38:46] trivial. This was maybe four or five
[38:49] years ago. It wasn't the most It was It
[38:51] was not a trivial experience. I could
[38:53] get the sounds to fire off, but the
[38:55] looping of the audio, so integrating it
[38:57] to the studio would be nice.
[38:58] >> Well, I'm going to do something crazy
[38:59] here because I do have the Roadcast Duo.
[39:03] Um, and it has some integrated sounds.
[39:06] The issue is I can press the button and
[39:09] the audience will hear what I did, but
[39:11] we will not hear it. So, I'm going to go
[39:13] with a trombone for whatever that is. So
[39:16] remember, I do not hear it, but I'm
[39:17] gonna just press it. And
[39:19] >> I'll do that. I'll do that even though I
[39:20] can't hear it.
[39:21] >> Yeah. So I did it and I think it did it
[39:24] did a thing. Uh we will have to come
[39:26] back. No, we can't hear it here. But
[39:28] allegedly the audience can. So let us
[39:30] know. And I'm also do I'm also going to
[39:31] do applause because it's something that
[39:33] I can very easily imagine. Uh so let's
[39:36] let's see what happens if we just click
[39:38] that. All right. Hopefully it's doing
[39:40] this. Uh we're going to come back. Uh,
[39:44] >> I'm gonna look at the comments, see
[39:46] >> we're gonna come back to uh to the
[39:48] actual live video and uh to the replay
[39:49] and see what what it did. If you are in
[39:51] the comments and you heard something, if
[39:53] you hear something, say something that's
[39:55] going to be um interesting to know what
[39:58] what you guys heard. All right. Uh so
[40:01] many more questions are coming in. Uh I
[40:03] will take
[40:04] >> We have a show we were meant to be doing
[40:05] right now.
[40:06] >> We were Yeah, we had we wanted to talk
[40:07] about change log, but of course uh so
[40:09] this is kind of like the style of this
[40:10] uh of the shows that I like to keep. I
[40:12] want to focus on the community. I want
[40:14] to focus on your questions more than I
[40:15] want to focus on the slides. Uh I
[40:16] already showed you the change log link.
[40:18] You can always go there. I would love to
[40:20] go through some of the updates with you
[40:21] live in real time. React, get your
[40:23] questions. But the questions that you
[40:24] already submitted are more important.
[40:26] You're here. Your time is valuable. You
[40:28] took the time to type up the question
[40:29] and I definitely want to prioritize
[40:31] that. That's why we're doing questions
[40:32] first and encourage you to continue
[40:34] asking. So the question is are there any
[40:37] plans to have more than one channel
[40:39] input for SRT or RTMP? Uh potentially
[40:43] yes. Um SRT is one of our business
[40:45] features. Multiple SRTs might be
[40:47] something that we could entertain on
[40:49] custom plans and enterprise offerings. I
[40:52] would definitely recommend reaching out
[40:53] to our sales team and see what is
[40:54] possible. I do know that they do have
[40:56] kind of a customized business and
[40:58] enterprise plans. And the more requests
[41:00] like this we receive the more u
[41:02] possibilities that will open. As of
[41:04] right now on self-service it is not
[41:05] possible but uh we definitely would like
[41:08] to look into your use case and
[41:10] understand what you're trying to do like
[41:12] what is your application and depending
[41:14] on how many more applications of that
[41:16] kind we we see among our creators uh we
[41:19] might we might look into that there's
[41:21] also not uncommonly possible path that
[41:24] there's a workaround right there's
[41:26] possible that you will reach out to us
[41:27] and say hey I'm trying to do this I need
[41:29] multiple ingest and maybe there's
[41:31] another way to do to achieve the outcome
[41:33] that you're looking for without
[41:34] necessarily uh making it more
[41:36] technically complex. So, let us know
[41:38] what you're trying to achieve. Um talk
[41:40] to our sales if you um if you're running
[41:42] like big broadcasting production uh and
[41:45] see what we can do. Great question.
[41:47] Danger zone is asking, "Will there be a
[41:49] way to add a dual format stream titles
[41:52] before going live or possibly toggling
[41:54] it off midstream to cancel it?" Right
[41:57] now, uh it's rigid. I'd like to add uh a
[42:00] vertical
[42:01] >> uh in the title on um on top of to help.
[42:05] So to the best of my knowledge and I'm
[42:06] just going to open the panel right now.
[42:10] Uh I'm well I mean why not, right? Like
[42:12] why don't we do just a little bit of
[42:15] testing. Uh okay, I see what you're
[42:17] talking about. So now if I open the um
[42:19] channel that goes both horizontal and
[42:21] vertical uh there is one title, right?
[42:25] And then there is only one basically you
[42:28] can add a title in the middle of the
[42:30] stream. By the way, you absolutely can
[42:32] do that. But to your point, it is going
[42:34] to change both. So if you're trying to
[42:35] do vertical on one and horizontal on the
[42:38] other, it's not something you can do. I
[42:39] do believe it is possible to do it in re
[42:42] in on the end platform. So if you go to
[42:43] YouTube itself, if you have a
[42:45] co-producer, because I wouldn't
[42:46] recommend doing that if you want to
[42:47] focus on your comments, your community,
[42:49] and your content. But if you have a
[42:51] co-producer who has access to your
[42:52] YouTube channel, you might ask them. I
[42:54] could do you want me to go and have a
[42:55] look see if I can do
[42:56] >> you could try yeah absolutely because
[42:57] you have access to YouTube channel and
[42:59] see if you can uh gently add it the live
[43:02] uh version of it if it's possible to do
[43:04] on YouTube it is very possible that it's
[43:06] not exposed through API so that means
[43:08] that we don't get the opportunity to do
[43:10] it on reream but it's a great feature
[43:11] request and it's a great thing for us to
[43:13] follow up with the YouTube team on and
[43:15] we will definitely bring it up because
[43:17] it makes perfect sense if you could just
[43:19] signify that this is a vertical one that
[43:22] also answered the question that we had
[43:23] earlier Like how do I pick which one if
[43:25] it's very clearly marked?
[43:27] >> Yeah.
[43:27] >> Okay.
[43:28] >> Are you doing it?
[43:29] >> I'm going to I'm going to try. Okay.
[43:30] Hang on. You want the cell phone?
[43:33] >> Yeah.
[43:34] I hope I'm changing the right one. I've
[43:36] checked. All right. I've Okay. So, cell
[43:38] phone users, have a look now. See
[43:40] whether it's
[43:41] >> whether you got the little cell phone
[43:43] emoji in the title for our vertical um
[43:46] stream on YouTube on the reream channel.
[43:48] Yes. So, you can do it. You just have to
[43:49] do it on the ad platform.
[43:51] >> Not ideal, not as convenient. I was
[43:53] playing I was getting you twice. That
[43:55] really confused me for a second
[43:57] >> because you're Yeah.
[43:58] >> Yeah.
[43:58] >> So, you can do it. Yeah. Apparently, you
[44:00] can do it just on the end platform. Uh
[44:01] but I'm going to bring it to our uh
[44:03] channels team and see uh if there is a
[44:06] better way because there might be. Uh
[44:08] another quick question here. If uh using
[44:10] backup stream um does system pass
[44:14] through 708 captions from main and the
[44:18] backup ingest hm if you're using backup
[44:22] stream uh I believe you have to use an
[44:25] encoder to the best of my knowledge
[44:27] there is no uh easy way to use backup
[44:29] stream on in studio and correct me if
[44:30] I'm wrong because I know we've been uh
[44:32] working on releasing that feature uh
[44:34] recently so it's somewhere close to
[44:37] release but to the best of my knowledge
[44:38] historically backup upstream was
[44:40] something that you would do with OBS or
[44:42] other streaming software and in that
[44:44] case captions are basically limited to
[44:46] the captions of your streaming software.
[44:48] Um but if you are using a backup stream
[44:51] in studio once it becomes available uh I
[44:54] do believe that the number of captions I
[44:57] mean logically it should just apply like
[44:59] however many you have on your main
[45:00] stream the same amount you should have
[45:01] on the backup captions is not something
[45:03] that takes a lot of power uh to the best
[45:06] of my knowledge. So yeah, I don't think
[45:08] that would be a problem. But it's an
[45:09] interesting it's an interesting um
[45:10] observation and request to look into. Uh
[45:13] team, if you know the answer to that
[45:16] question, the support folks like if you
[45:17] if you work a lot with backup streams,
[45:19] uh feel free to jump in here and correct
[45:23] um correct us.
[45:24] >> 708 is like closed captioning, right?
[45:26] It's a different embedded
[45:28] >> it's a bit an embedded signal.
[45:31] >> Yeah. Um,
[45:33] >> yeah, we we don't do closed captioning
[45:35] uh live close captioning just yet. Uh,
[45:37] but yeah, it's it's just something to uh
[45:40] yeah, maybe the sport team can can share
[45:42] a little bit more on that or it could be
[45:44] a feature request because yeah, closed
[45:45] captions like live closed captions is
[45:47] not something that Reream offers right
[45:48] now. Code uh on X is asking, do you guys
[45:52] accept requests for affiliate or uh what
[45:55] is the road map for creators? I would
[45:57] like to utilize the platform more
[45:58] because it's so convenient to stream
[46:00] right on X and plug my community into
[46:02] the ecosystem. So the affiliates, we
[46:04] have two things. Uh we have an affiliate
[46:06] program. Uh that's something where uh
[46:09] you can apply and if you promote Reream
[46:12] and people from your community sign up
[46:14] for Reream accounts, you actually get a
[46:16] commission. It's a recurring commission
[46:17] for a year. It's up to 30%. So it's a
[46:19] very good deal if you have a lot of
[46:21] creators and uh video producers in your
[46:23] ecosystem. It's a great way to uh get
[46:26] some additional income. So that's our
[46:27] affiliate program. Uh that's something
[46:29] that you can simply reach out to our
[46:30] support team and they will uh point you
[46:32] in the right direction. They will send
[46:33] you a link. You'll need to apply. We'll
[46:35] need to see your community. Make sure
[46:36] that uh you you have some establish
[46:39] established presence on social uh and
[46:42] after that you you will get that
[46:44] affiliate uh link that you can promote
[46:46] uh that allows you to generate that
[46:48] extra income. There's another thing that
[46:50] we're looking into right now is some UGC
[46:52] content. Our marketing team is always
[46:54] looking for people who can create uh
[46:56] short vertical videos uh that are
[46:59] talking about restream features, reream
[47:00] benefits, restream abilities uh that we
[47:03] could use uh on as organic as well as
[47:05] boosted content. So basically uh we will
[47:08] pay to promote those shorts. Uh if you
[47:11] do great work, that's something to talk
[47:13] to me and my marketing team about. So
[47:15] feel free to reach out in DM. Uh we'll
[47:17] review your content, your style, and if
[47:19] that matches what we're trying to
[47:20] achieve, then we will be happy to work
[47:21] with you. and basically outsource your
[47:23] creativity to make videos for us um and
[47:26] put you in front of a lot of um a lot of
[47:29] audiences on social media. So there
[47:31] there is a collaboration opportunity
[47:32] right there as well.
[47:35] Nice. Uh danger zone is clarifying super
[47:37] chat sticker or something instead of $5
[47:41] when I put it on screen would be
[47:43] awesome. I love that. Yeah. So right now
[47:44] we're showing like the exact amount that
[47:46] people paid. I understand that it's not
[47:47] that exciting and you would like to see
[47:49] something more uh kind of like
[47:51] encouraging and inviting. Great idea. $5
[47:54] sounds less exciting that splash
[47:57] sticker. So, we will look into that.
[48:00] Love it. Internet tour guy love the
[48:02] service. I know incorporating Tik Tok
[48:03] chat has some unique challenges. Is that
[48:06] on the road map? It is on the road map
[48:08] because we would love to intro introduce
[48:09] it. It is unfortunately something that
[48:12] Tik Tok currently controls and does not
[48:14] uh expose their API. So they do not open
[48:17] uh the ability for third-party
[48:19] applications like Reream to collect
[48:21] chats from Tik Tok. So they ask you to
[48:23] keep your Tik Tok live monitor open as a
[48:25] separate tab in order to monitor your
[48:27] comments. Uh not ideal but something
[48:29] that is currently entirely in the hands
[48:32] of Tik Tok. The more feedback you get to
[48:34] you give to Tik Tok team, the more
[48:36] chances are that they will uh change
[48:39] that policy and open it up. the second
[48:41] they do, we would love to bring to bring
[48:43] this Tik Tok chats into our multit
[48:45] because of course uh currently it's not
[48:47] ideal and we would love to change it. So
[48:49] it is on our road map as soon as Tik Tok
[48:52] opens it up for us. I mean look at look
[48:54] at Twitch's recent updates and it's
[48:56] clearly a reaction to
[48:58] >> you know market forces and so on like
[49:01] these companies have to a balance
[49:04] between what their own interests and the
[49:06] interests of their their customers and I
[49:08] think if the customers get noisy about
[49:10] these things then they have to take them
[49:11] more seriously. So it's definitely worth
[49:13] reaching out to
[49:14] >> to everyone you know.
[49:15] >> Yeah totally
[49:17] >> be be heard
[49:18] >> be seen be heard
[49:20] >> be seen be heard. So, I see that Grant
[49:22] said uh he did not hear the applauses.
[49:24] I'm going to try to do it again just um
[49:28] for fun actually because I think I know
[49:31] what happened there. Uh I'm going to try
[49:33] it one more time because I did not have
[49:36] the volume on that control up. So, I did
[49:39] press the button, I promise, but I
[49:41] didn't realize that there's like a
[49:42] little toggle. So, now I did it. Uh and
[49:44] let me know if that if that worked. Um
[49:47] okay, cool. So uh can you guys do a
[49:51] screen share for mobile? Uh not yet but
[49:54] great feature request. It's actually not
[49:56] very trivial to do. Uh especially if you
[49:58] are streaming from mobile and you're
[50:01] also looking at your stream and your
[50:02] chats on mobile and then you also want
[50:03] to share screen of a separate tab I
[50:06] guess because I don't think you'll be
[50:07] sharing what you're streaming. You want
[50:08] to share something else. It's not a
[50:10] trivial task but it is something that um
[50:14] uh that that is something that uh we we
[50:17] understand the use case and the need uh
[50:20] not yet easily possible. I do have a
[50:22] workar around for you however if you
[50:23] have something in particular that you're
[50:25] showing on your screen if it's not like
[50:26] super reactionary real time but if you
[50:29] just want to demonstrate something that
[50:30] you're doing on the mobile right or
[50:32] maybe show something just in a different
[50:34] tab right on a different website you can
[50:36] record that on your phone. um and then
[50:39] use upload it as a video and then play
[50:41] it uh as as a video within studio. So it
[50:46] will look like your mobile screen
[50:47] recorded. And we actually have a few
[50:49] examples today of how we recorded some
[50:51] vertical videos and we'll play them for
[50:52] you. So you'll see how that could look.
[50:54] So that's one of the ways to kind of
[50:56] like achieve that. Not necessarily in
[50:58] real time, not necessarily as simple. Uh
[51:00] but if you are trying to show something
[51:02] that you do on mobile, just just make a
[51:04] video of that and upload it. That might
[51:05] be uh your best bet today.
[51:08] Um, thank you for answering the
[51:10] question. That would be amazing. Who do
[51:12] I contact on stream page? Uh, so yeah,
[51:15] you can find me. Uh, it's Anya. Uh, and
[51:18] you can DM me about the affiliate stuff.
[51:22] Just let me know what you're looking for
[51:24] in particular. If you're looking to
[51:25] promote, uh, if you are looking for
[51:26] affiliate links or if you're looking to
[51:28] create content for us and I will send
[51:30] you in the right direction.
[51:31] >> Where is the what is the easiest way to
[51:33] get hold of you? What's what what's the
[51:35] official channel for you? Yeah, it's
[51:36] going to be the official channel. Uh
[51:38] it's going to be uh if you are on X,
[51:40] which I see uh you are, it's going to be
[51:42] Ana Resina 1. Uh and uh you will see you
[51:47] should be able to just DM me. I might
[51:50] have some restrictions there, but um
[51:54] definitely try. I I will I will check my
[51:55] DM today. And also you can find me on
[51:57] LinkedIn uh by the same first and last
[51:59] name on. All right. Uh and Grant says,
[52:02] "Still no plauses." Okay. Well, I guess
[52:04] um I guess I need to I need to play with
[52:06] it a little more to make it work. All
[52:08] right, let's get to our change log. Uh
[52:11] this uh is going to I know that I just
[52:13] like changed us, right?
[52:15] >> I am going to go ahead and get our
[52:19] shared screen in here.
[52:22] And this is the recent change log.
[52:24] >> You pressed H to bring up a new screen
[52:27] share.
[52:28] >> Yeah, that's exactly what I did. Except
[52:31] Except I'm not a shortcut person at all.
[52:32] It was so funny. I think to me like
[52:34] mouse and just like in the Minority
[52:37] Report type controlling things is just
[52:38] so much more natural.
[52:41] >> Video editing is I I I could not
[52:43] possibly and live switching. I couldn't
[52:44] possibly work with only the mouse.
[52:47] >> I know. I mean, I I I I hear that for
[52:49] sure. Uh it makes sense. It's just a
[52:51] matter of habit, right?
[52:53] >> But uh reream.io/changelock
[52:55] is where you can get a lot of great news
[52:58] on what we shipped. Um, and we're just
[53:01] going to go through a few things from 20
[53:03] uh 26. Uh, I'm just going to stick to
[53:05] this screen share today so we can show
[53:08] you as many things as possible. If you
[53:09] see something that's interesting or you
[53:11] have questions or clarifications, let us
[53:13] know in the comments because we'll have
[53:15] another Q&A session for the change log
[53:17] right after this. So, hitting the ground
[53:20] running, the update from literally
[53:22] today,
[53:23] >> custom duration for the countdown timer.
[53:26] So for the for a long time, we received
[53:28] a lot of um requests for customizing
[53:32] your countdown, right? Like so we
[53:34] originally created a ton of options on
[53:36] how long your countdown timer should be.
[53:38] That is based on our own kind of ideas
[53:40] of like what makes sense. Uh I
[53:43] personally stick with a two-minute
[53:44] countdown because to me this is the best
[53:45] way to kind of equalize the platforms,
[53:48] right? Like so the stream goes live on
[53:50] all platforms and it starts at the same
[53:51] time. Uh it is also a great time to kind
[53:53] of like notify people, get them ready,
[53:55] and it is a good time for me to kind of
[53:58] get my moment of meditation before we're
[54:00] actually diving into this. Uh we do see
[54:04] um in the past we've seen that the
[54:06] countdowns that last longer than 5
[54:08] minutes actually do tend to drop
[54:10] viewers. So once the stream starts on
[54:14] all platforms, you get this like really
[54:15] nice little spike. People are excited,
[54:17] people are joining in. But if they're
[54:18] asked to sit for more than five minutes
[54:20] and just stare at even the most
[54:21] beautiful music and countdown and
[54:22] promotional video, eventually they will
[54:24] start dropping off ba based on our
[54:27] audience and based on our experience. It
[54:29] could be different for for you, but
[54:30] that's just something to keep in mind.
[54:32] Uh we do offer kind of preset countdowns
[54:34] for up to 15 minutes and as of today we
[54:37] are offering a custom ones. The custom
[54:39] countdown can go up to one hour. And uh
[54:43] that is actually excellent if you have
[54:44] kind of like a pre like if you want to
[54:47] create a hybrid stream and kind of like
[54:48] show like a whole thing that can last
[54:51] for up to one hour as a countdown and
[54:53] then you join uh with live Q&A, maybe
[54:56] live commentary uh or just like a
[54:57] different segment. Uh you can create
[55:00] this one custom time and then it saves.
[55:02] Uh so this is what this image is
[55:03] showing. So somebody created uh a very
[55:06] uncharacteristical 4 minutes and 27
[55:08] seconds countdown like very specific uh
[55:11] and then once you create that custom
[55:13] time it actually stays within your
[55:14] selection. So next time you can just
[55:16] simply check it. Uh one of the
[55:18] applications for this can also be
[55:19] matching a specific song or a specific
[55:21] video promotion uh like a promo reel uh
[55:24] that you would want to play in the
[55:25] beginning of the show. So you can
[55:27] actually match the countdown to exactly
[55:28] that uh duration. Uh but yeah, you are
[55:31] pretty much only limited by one hour uh
[55:34] which is a long time. So play with it.
[55:37] Uh let us know what you think and uh
[55:39] yeah it is now here uh 100% built by
[55:42] your request. You guys ask for this and
[55:44] this is why it is here as of March 4th.
[55:48] as March 4th, as as a co-producer or
[55:50] producer, I I use that time to check
[55:53] that that the channels are going live.
[55:55] >> And yeah, in the studio, it's nice that
[55:58] I can see a preview of other guests and
[56:00] people in the studio. So, I can I can
[56:02] I'm muted, but I can wave at you and we
[56:04] can, you know, you have that little
[56:05] moment. It's uh so two minutes is the
[56:07] sweet spot. I think you're right there.
[56:09] >> Absolutely.
[56:11] Uh another update also uh in studio is
[56:14] that we introduced new fonts. So, um,
[56:18] how would you read this, Charles,
[56:20] because I feel like I'm going to mess it
[56:21] up. Is it,
[56:22] >> you know, so funny. I'd probably say
[56:24] gist, but
[56:25] >> gist.
[56:26] >> I don't know. Gist.
[56:28] >> Yeah, I would say gist or gist. Uh, if
[56:30] you're from Verscell and watching us,
[56:33] let us know. Spell it out for us. Let us
[56:34] know how you pronounce this. But this,
[56:36] uh, this is basically the new font
[56:37] style. um which uh as you already know
[56:41] we introduced a big collection of fonts
[56:43] for your captions, your questions,
[56:46] basically live comments, your tickers
[56:49] and your um titles. Uh and now this
[56:53] collection has been extended to uh the
[56:56] new uh versel phones. So inspired by
[56:59] Swiss design. They're very simple.
[57:01] There's several of them. There's regular
[57:02] mono and uh pixel variations. We are
[57:04] using one of them right now. This is how
[57:06] your comments are showing up. This is
[57:07] how our names are showing up and this is
[57:09] also how our ticker uh when we ask you
[57:12] to ask questions is appearing. So we are
[57:14] using this font. It's brand new. Give it
[57:16] give it a go. Play with it. And if
[57:17] there's another font that you are
[57:19] absolutely in love with and you would
[57:20] like to see in studio uh definitely go
[57:22] to ideas.resteream.io and submit it
[57:24] because we are planning to expand this
[57:26] collection more and more. Um as
[57:28] customizations and interesting fonts I
[57:30] believe uh it's a small detail that
[57:32] makes your live stream look much more
[57:34] elegant and much more interesting.
[57:36] Right.
[57:37] Yeah, I'm I'm laughing because you're
[57:38] inviting comic sands comments,
[57:41] >> right?
[57:43] >> Right. Uh yeah, I mean, but again, if
[57:45] that's if that's your vibe, it should it
[57:47] should definitely be there.
[57:48] >> You know what? Yeah, why not? Why not? I
[57:50] mean, yeah, this is a this is a great
[57:52] font. Designers love this font, and you
[57:54] know, it's it's great for for UI and and
[57:56] it h it's really good for legibility on
[57:58] all different screen sizes and, you
[58:00] know, at all different sizes. And I
[58:02] think what's interesting here in this
[58:03] image even it shows that even with
[58:05] pretty crazy colors on the background,
[58:07] it's still very legible. Like it's still
[58:09] very easy to read, which in the end of
[58:11] the day is the main role of the message,
[58:14] right? Like the job of the message is to
[58:15] be read and to be clear and to be
[58:16] understood. So this uh this shows that
[58:19] like on different
[58:20] >> backgrounds and different variations of
[58:23] colors, it looks it looks really clean
[58:24] and I really like that.
[58:26] >> Very very fun stuff. Uh February
[58:29] updates. Uh this one is something that
[58:31] you guys have seen a lot. We had a
[58:33] dedicated stream on that and this is
[58:35] what we're using right now. We now allow
[58:37] you to stream in landscape and portrait
[58:38] at the same time in studio. It's very
[58:41] simple um and very uh very useful
[58:44] because it allows you to appear in
[58:46] vertical feeds, meet your viewers on the
[58:49] type of screen that they're watching. We
[58:50] actually covered quite a bit of this in
[58:52] the beginning when we covered the news.
[58:54] Uh but this is uh something that we
[58:56] introduced uh relatively recently and
[58:58] have we have been streaming in dual
[59:00] format since then. If you had a chance
[59:01] to try it, let us know in the comments
[59:03] how did it go for you. I would love to
[59:05] hear your feedback. For those who are
[59:07] new to this and have a question of where
[59:10] the heck is this, how do I find it? This
[59:12] is how when you are in studio in the
[59:15] bottom right corner, you have this
[59:17] little icon that shows you either a
[59:19] little laptop icon or a little phone
[59:21] icon. So this is your orientation.
[59:23] Historically, you had to pick one. You
[59:25] could either go vertical or horizontal.
[59:27] Now, you have a version with two of them
[59:29] kind of together. And if you click on
[59:31] that icon, you can pick this dual
[59:34] orientation. And that will immediately
[59:36] split your studio preview, which is what
[59:38] is happening to us right now as we're
[59:39] looking at it into two different
[59:41] canvases. One is going to be landscape
[59:44] and the other one is going to be
[59:45] portrait. And you will see the preview
[59:47] exactly how it will show up on that
[59:49] platform. So you can see what it does to
[59:50] your layouts, to your guests, to
[59:52] different sources. Uh, and you can
[59:54] basically play with it a little bit. And
[59:56] then you can assign specific channels to
[59:59] the orientation. For example, you can
[60:00] say that my portrait stream is going to
[60:03] go on Tik Tok, Instagram, and YouTube.
[60:05] And then my horizontal is going to go on
[60:07] LinkedIn, Twitch, and YouTube. Uh, as
[60:10] well, same one. Uh, which is also one of
[60:12] the updates that we will cover. But uh,
[60:14] this is this is how you get there. Uh,
[60:16] this in studio is a paid feature. So you
[60:18] have to have a professional plan or
[60:19] higher in order to uh use it. We do
[60:23] offer trials if you are on other plans.
[60:25] Uh if you want to just explore it and
[60:26] make sure that is right for you. So
[60:28] basically play before you pay. Uh if you
[60:30] don't see that trial but and you have
[60:32] not tried it yet and you would like to
[60:33] try, please reach out to our support
[60:35] team. They should be able to set you up
[60:36] for a 7-day trial. We definitely want
[60:39] you to try it and to use it and give us
[60:41] feedback. Uh so uh there is definitely
[60:44] as we just launched it there's
[60:45] definitely going to be a lot of
[60:46] opportunity to explore. Uh feedback is
[60:49] always welcome and if you are using
[60:51] something like OBS the dual output is
[60:53] available through our free vertical
[60:56] plug-in. So you don't have to use
[60:57] studio. You can use it for free in OBS.
[60:59] And in studio, um you will need a
[61:02] professional plan and this little button
[61:04] that does landscape plus portrait.
[61:06] >> And if you are streaming to YouTube,
[61:09] that count as both vertical and
[61:11] horizontal, that counts as one channel.
[61:13] >> Single channel. Exactly. So for those
[61:15] who are uh looking at their limits of
[61:17] destinations uh for example if you're
[61:19] looking at five channels uh so yes your
[61:22] same YouTube in two orientations within
[61:25] studio is still going to count as one
[61:26] channel. So no worries about uh reaching
[61:29] your limit there. Uh but
[61:31] >> thank you for taking away that still of
[61:33] me going like this.
[61:35] >> Yeah right.
[61:36] >> You took that still.
[61:38] >> Yeah I I did probably which was not very
[61:41] thoughtful. It was not very thoughtful
[61:43] of me. Um,
[61:45] >> I'm not I don't know.
[61:46] >> Yeah, there's another one. Good still.
[61:49] Good still of you. But this uh Well,
[61:51] hey, look. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna
[61:53] make it.
[61:53] >> It's okay. Honestly, I'm not live.
[61:56] >> Yeah. So, this one this is a great
[61:58] update that we also had a whole
[62:00] dedicated stream to. This one was about
[62:02] chat overlay. Uh we demonstrated it
[62:04] earlier and we will demonstrate it again
[62:06] during our Q&A session. Uh this allows
[62:08] you to put your whole chat uh on top of
[62:11] your video. And there are a few
[62:12] variations and customization with it. So
[62:14] you can actually control the size, the
[62:17] theme, the opacity, and the position of
[62:19] this chat overlay. You can put it
[62:21] exactly where Charles has it in the demo
[62:23] video, and you can put it in the middle,
[62:24] you can put it on the side. So there are
[62:26] ways to resize, move it around. It's
[62:27] pretty, it's almost a free move type
[62:29] thing. Uh and you can also create like a
[62:32] separate block for it so it doesn't
[62:33] cover your video. So there are a lot of
[62:34] things to play with. Uh it is relatively
[62:37] new. Definitely build build by your
[62:39] requests and per your um your ideas,
[62:43] submissions and up votes. Uh we had a
[62:46] dedicated stream for that. There's a
[62:47] tutorial video that you can find uh to
[62:49] see how exactly that works. And we do uh
[62:52] show it on our stream and we'll show it
[62:53] in the end during the Q&A session as
[62:55] well.
[62:56] >> We had a lot of fun with it, didn't we?
[62:58] We had Yeah, because there are a lot of
[63:00] themes that are kind of like we try to
[63:02] create like an interesting compilation
[63:04] of different themes and and vibes,
[63:07] right? And we had the comic one that is
[63:08] like more for entertainment. We have
[63:10] like this really clean professional one
[63:12] that we have here uh and that we use
[63:13] most of the time. So there's some
[63:15] specific gaming themes like Fortnite and
[63:18] stuff like that. Um so yeah, all kinds
[63:19] of stuff and we are looking to expand
[63:21] that collection. So it is also a living
[63:23] organism. It's work in progress. And if
[63:25] there's any specific theme you would
[63:26] like to see in chat overlay is that's
[63:27] not yet there, your ideas.io is a great
[63:31] space to do that as well as our support
[63:32] team. Reach out to us. Uh let us know
[63:35] what you think. It's always good to hear
[63:37] your feedback. Uh moving on, still in
[63:40] February, generating clips from parts
[63:43] that matter. So, that is an update uh
[63:46] that I just want to refresh real quick
[63:48] because we had yet again a dedicated
[63:50] stream uh for just uh new clips features
[63:55] last week. So, you can come back to that
[63:57] if you're not afraid of my sick husky
[63:59] voice that I was hosting that stream
[64:01] with. Uh you're in for a treat. There's
[64:03] a lot of updates that we shared with
[64:04] Roario, our product manager for AI
[64:06] Clips. uh he was kind enough to go live
[64:08] with me and explain uh all the new
[64:11] things that they were building, they
[64:12] were busy with and answer some
[64:13] questions. Uh I do want to bring up this
[64:16] update because it is definitely
[64:17] something very new and very different.
[64:19] Uh creators asked for the opportunity to
[64:22] select specific part of the stream and
[64:25] then clip from there versus clipping
[64:27] from the whole video. Why this matters?
[64:29] For example, in this stream we started
[64:31] with news, right? Uh we were looking at
[64:33] specific tweets and specific uh
[64:35] announcements and updates that are
[64:37] relevant to creators economy and to
[64:39] creators industry and some of them were
[64:41] super big like Twitch allowing multi-hat
[64:45] uh from different platforms to be
[64:47] displayed on Twitch streams. Uh Apple
[64:49] announcing video in their podcast like
[64:51] big deal thanks right so we definitely
[64:53] would want to repurpose those
[64:54] conversations into clips in the end of
[64:56] this uh stream. So now instead of uh
[64:59] basically going through um the whole
[65:03] video and then asking uh our clipping
[65:07] system clipping algorithm to figure out
[65:09] what exactly we want in clips we can
[65:12] actually guide it a little bit and say
[65:14] hey this beginning this first 15 minutes
[65:15] when we're talking about news we want to
[65:17] clip from there and get as many viral
[65:19] and interesting moments as you can. So
[65:20] that kind of like guides our AI editing
[65:22] tool towards what exactly we find more
[65:25] meaningful. Uh and also saves you some
[65:27] clips because you can determine uh as
[65:29] you can see in this demo how many clips
[65:31] do you want per section. Uh and in just
[65:35] a second here see how like you have all
[65:37] this control. So here for example you
[65:39] can select the theme for your captions.
[65:41] Uh you can also select this is it the
[65:44] number of clips. Uh it was right here a
[65:46] second ago. So you can say, hey, from
[65:48] this section I only want two or maybe
[65:49] this section was was gold. It was pure
[65:52] madness and this is where we want like
[65:55] all possible clips to come from. Uh so
[65:57] those are the benefits of selecting
[65:59] specific specific size. Is that how you
[66:01] do it, Charles? Do you do you look at
[66:03] specific segments when you uh when when
[66:05] you when we're clipping our shows?
[66:08] Uh I tend to look at the whole show
[66:10] because we don't necessar I think if we
[66:14] had specific guests then I would
[66:16] probably
[66:17] >> chop up look at you know individual
[66:19] guests perhaps for the for the best bits
[66:21] rather so that I would take the best
[66:23] bits of each guest rather than the best
[66:25] bits of the entire show so that I knew I
[66:28] was getting the hot takes you know and
[66:30] the hot bits because otherwise it might
[66:32] be that one guest is better than the
[66:33] other. You know what I mean? So I tend I
[66:35] tend to you know I look at the I tend to
[66:38] look at the entire in the entirety but I
[66:40] can see how this is useful and again
[66:43] this has come from feedback from the
[66:44] community and this is speaking to it
[66:46] seems to be a sort of common theme in
[66:48] today's show is that feedback and
[66:50] community um input is is vital.
[66:54] >> Yeah. I also think what's interesting
[66:56] here is that if you look at this
[66:57] timeline right here it actually also
[67:00] allows you like to cut. So, one way to
[67:02] look at this is that this is the
[67:04] selection, right? Like, oh, I only want
[67:06] clips from minute 15 to minute 30,
[67:08] right? Like, so this 15 minutes is when
[67:11] everything happened in my opinion. But
[67:12] there's also an opportunity to cut off
[67:15] that one hour long countdown timer that
[67:18] you decided to customize for example,
[67:20] right? and basically tell our clipping
[67:22] system that like hey do not clip from
[67:24] there because uh a lot of times that
[67:26] countdown could be just music and image
[67:28] but for some people it might be a
[67:29] promotional video or even a whole
[67:31] previous event right and basically by
[67:34] selecting uh the timeline from where you
[67:37] want to clip you're telling our system
[67:38] that hey this is this is already
[67:40] pre-recorded we already got the clipping
[67:42] done there let's just focus on this
[67:44] other segment here so you can basically
[67:46] just move that toggle uh like if if if
[67:48] we could move the toggle from basically
[67:50] left to right, right? They can say,
[67:51] "Hey, this this is the introduction that
[67:54] I uh I would love to keep clip free and
[67:57] let's clip them from further on."
[67:59] >> You know, and if you're going to be
[68:00] automating this system, it could be that
[68:02] you have a guest that doesn't want to be
[68:03] on certain platforms. You're like,
[68:04] "Okay, well, I'd like you to
[68:06] automatically clip and post a bunch of
[68:08] these clips. I don't want to have to go
[68:10] through and vet all of them in, you
[68:11] know, in a specific way because I know
[68:13] that this guest doesn't want to be on
[68:14] this platform or this guest doesn't want
[68:16] to be involved in in any of the
[68:18] promotion for my stream at all." So you
[68:20] can just you know work around that and
[68:22] this is helping to automate that
[68:23] process.
[68:24] >> Absolutely. Speaking of automations, the
[68:27] next update in our change log is about
[68:30] clips API.
[68:31] >> You see what I did there? That was
[68:32] deliberate.
[68:33] >> Yeah. Oh, you did. I was like, how did
[68:36] he know?
[68:37] >> It really was. I
[68:38] >> Maybe because he reviewed Yeah. Maybe
[68:40] because he reviewed the scenes before we
[68:41] before we got here.
[68:43] >> I read I also read the change log.
[68:45] >> That's awesome. Yeah, the change log. uh
[68:49] everyone should read it. And uh one of
[68:51] the updates that we did also in February
[68:53] is Clips API. We didn't really promote
[68:54] it too heavily because it's kind of like
[68:56] a nichy thing. Uh basically what Clips
[68:59] API does is it allows you to build an
[69:02] API to access your projects and uh
[69:05] basically create workflows if you are
[69:08] using AI tools uh or integrations and
[69:10] automations. It allows you to access
[69:12] your your your clips and integrate them
[69:15] into
[69:17] uh things like for example your content
[69:18] management system. So maybe you have
[69:20] some really large content man management
[69:22] system something like uh Sprout Social
[69:24] and you want to be able to access your
[69:26] reream clips and just basically feed
[69:28] them into your social media scheduling.
[69:31] Um maybe maybe there are other uh other
[69:34] things that you use clips for internally
[69:36] and you basically can access those
[69:37] projects and like and pull uh the
[69:39] information about like how many clips
[69:41] you have, what kind of titles, what kind
[69:42] of varietality scores you're getting. So
[69:44] all kinds of different things. Um it is
[69:47] um again slightly more technical uh like
[69:50] that's not something that I typically
[69:51] work with like I do not build uh this
[69:53] kind of workflows but uh I do know that
[69:55] a lot of um like basically video
[69:58] production and content production is
[70:00] moving in the direction of like more and
[70:01] more AI assistant or workflow driven um
[70:04] ways to to manage your work. So if you
[70:07] are uh if you're using this automations
[70:09] definitely check out this API and let us
[70:11] know uh how is it working for you and if
[70:13] there's something else that you would
[70:15] like to see there. Uh it's very fresh
[70:17] brand new uh just just launched in
[70:19] February as an experiment. uh but uh as
[70:23] we hear kind of coming back to news
[70:25] right like I don't know if you heard
[70:26] those news that uh slack and I think
[70:28] teams but definitely slack started to
[70:30] sell seats for agents like for AI agents
[70:33] like it's a very clever way to basically
[70:35] say okay you clearly have um you know AI
[70:39] employees on your on your team at this
[70:42] point so why why not sell them a seat so
[70:44] it's I thought it was very clever uh so
[70:46] as we as as more and more companies are
[70:47] starting to build for uh for agentic
[70:50] workflows
[70:51] uh we are we're experimenting with that
[70:53] as well. So let us know if you had a
[70:55] chance to check it.
[70:56] >> So an API is application programming
[70:58] interface. It allows computer to
[71:00] computer communication but it means that
[71:02] your system can be used those so for the
[71:05] >> uh until recently it was also Neoi on
[71:07] this stuff. Uh it allows your system to
[71:10] be interacted with by another system
[71:11] without revealing too much of your back
[71:13] end and any sensitive information. So it
[71:15] means that people can use our clipping
[71:18] service and integrate it with their own
[71:21] functions. They could even build their
[71:22] own clipping service using our
[71:24] technology but without us revealing any
[71:27] of our secret source or any of our user
[71:29] data or anything sensitive. So it means
[71:31] that that you know it's an interaction
[71:33] between two different platforms or
[71:35] programs. You know we'll use the API for
[71:38] the platforms that we stream to that we
[71:39] offer stream.
[71:40] >> Absolutely.
[71:42] Absolutely. So, Clips API, give it give
[71:44] it a check. Uh, another slightly uh more
[71:48] specific update uh that goes to uh our
[71:53] business and enterprise customers. So,
[71:56] uh this is also a popular request that
[71:57] we received a lot from uh from our uh
[72:00] more like professional broadcasting
[72:02] creators. Uh this is the disconnect
[72:04] protect. uh this is uh primarily
[72:08] applicable to SRT and whip but you can
[72:10] also do it with for RTMP streams. So the
[72:13] video protection uh basically
[72:16] automatically plays uh your placeholder
[72:19] video in case your stream drops and
[72:22] keeps your event live in case um you
[72:25] have a small downtime. So this is kind
[72:28] of additional or uh it's not a
[72:31] replacement but it's an additional thing
[72:32] you can do with fallback or stream
[72:35] backup uh that we had a question for uh
[72:37] earlier. So what it does is uh you can
[72:40] basically create like a be right back
[72:42] screen which is what we have in the demo
[72:44] here but it can also be your sponsor
[72:45] segment your promotional video your uh
[72:48] little teaser or or like your show reel
[72:52] that basically takes over in case you
[72:54] have a little hiccup. uh the major
[72:56] benefit and the biggest value there is
[72:58] that you do not lose the event, right?
[73:00] Like so if it's an event that was
[73:02] scheduled and actively promoted on
[73:04] YouTube or LinkedIn, uh this kind of um
[73:07] little um disconnect protection um
[73:11] commercial break allows you to keep that
[73:14] same event and not lose uh the URL where
[73:17] you already directed your your audience
[73:19] and viewers. Uh so give it a try. Uh if
[73:22] you are on our business plans are higher
[73:24] and if it's something that you feel like
[73:25] your production needs, reach out to our
[73:27] sales team and they will set you up.
[73:30] All right. Uh we also have some updates
[73:33] that we talked about uh when we covered
[73:35] our studio updates. So this is just like
[73:37] a little a little thing to repeat. Uh we
[73:40] now allow screen sharing uh previewing
[73:44] and zooming directly in studio. This is
[73:46] actually what I'm doing right now. I'm
[73:47] not jumping between multiple tabs. Um I
[73:50] will show you uh a little video here uh
[73:53] just because I think it's easier to show
[73:54] it like this. Uh but yes when you are in
[73:58] studio now you can uh one time allow us
[74:01] access to your screen sharing and then
[74:04] once you selected the tab or the window
[74:06] that you're sharing then you can simply
[74:08] scroll your uh content directly in
[74:12] reream preview and you can also click on
[74:14] this little zoom button uh to enlarge
[74:17] certain elements. This is super cool
[74:18] because I always historically have been
[74:20] annoyed by the idea that I need to jump
[74:22] between the tabs and like lose my my
[74:26] sense of like what my co-host is doing,
[74:28] what is my chat doing, how do I look in
[74:30] camera. So, this is a really cool
[74:32] update. Um, if you missed that, uh,
[74:34] definitely give it a try. Uh, pretty
[74:36] pretty easy. Um, in addition to that,
[74:39] uh, let me go back to
[74:42] >> Can I just say something about this?
[74:43] >> Yeah. Absolutely. Something very cool
[74:45] about this is treated like it's almost
[74:47] treated like a an extra camera in that
[74:49] your local recordings will record that
[74:51] movement. It will record that screen
[74:53] capture. Uh the other thing that I don't
[74:56] know if we've mentioned this too much, I
[74:58] can't control your screen, right? So you
[75:00] are protected from me then trying to
[75:02] move around on your machine. Only you
[75:05] can control that screen share. You the
[75:07] sh the share the sharer the sharet
[75:12] >> the person sharing. Yeah, the sharer
[75:15] sharer sharer.
[75:16] >> Uh, yeah, that's really cool. Yeah,
[75:18] >> you know, when I come to edit these
[75:20] shows, um, do the cut downs, I have that
[75:23] in the as a as a source in my local
[75:24] recordings, and it's placed in the local
[75:26] recording exactly where it was we
[75:28] started sharing. So, you started sharing
[75:29] this before the stream even started. So,
[75:31] I will have the entire length of this
[75:35] >> episode.
[75:37] Mic drop. Yeah, that's that's that's
[75:40] lovely. Uh yeah, because sometimes it's
[75:41] super handy because when you're talking
[75:43] about something that you're showing on
[75:44] screen, it's so cool to just have it as
[75:46] a as a source uh ready to go. Uh yeah,
[75:49] that's a really cool cool addition. Uh
[75:51] and on
[75:51] >> this means you don't if you want, you
[75:53] know, screen sharing is used a lot. It's
[75:54] so useful. You don't have to then say,
[75:56] "Oh, hang on one second. Take a
[75:58] screenshot, drag it into the studio,
[75:59] just share that tab that you're like,
[76:01] "Oh, I'm looking at a thing." Just share
[76:02] that tab. It's it's fabulous.
[76:04] >> Yeah. Which is a great use case what
[76:05] we're doing right now. We decided to
[76:06] build this whole stream around change
[76:09] log, right? and show you what we built
[76:10] and how how we post and inform you about
[76:12] this and like basically go through this
[76:14] live in real time with you. Um, and
[76:17] yeah, that's a great that's a great use
[76:18] case for screen sharing, scrolling and
[76:20] zooming. So on that side also now you
[76:23] can share up to three screens at the
[76:25] same time. It used to be one screen
[76:27] share per guest or per video
[76:30] participant. Uh, now you as a host can
[76:32] share up to three at the same time.
[76:35] Super useful if you're showing your
[76:36] workflows, how you work, and you
[76:38] typically operate with multiple
[76:39] monitors, multiple different windows or
[76:41] tabs. Now, you don't have to choose or
[76:43] switch between them or invite yourself
[76:45] as a guest uh in order to to share
[76:47] additional one or open some incognito
[76:49] windows and things like that. You can
[76:51] simply create those tabs that you want
[76:52] to share and bring them all together.
[76:55] Note that that does strain your
[76:57] computer. So if you are doing multiple
[76:59] guests, multiple screen shares, local
[77:02] recording, you know, really high
[77:03] production and maybe not the best
[77:05] internet in the world, it might slow
[77:07] down your system a little bit. When we
[77:09] played with it, uh we kind of stretch
[77:10] the system to the point when things
[77:12] started to freeze a little bit with two
[77:14] guests and three screen shares. Uh but
[77:17] again, it depends on the capability of a
[77:18] computer and how important that is for
[77:20] you to do it. Uh now that option is
[77:22] there. So if you have three screens to
[77:24] share, you can do it. I love Dimmitri's
[77:28] what he's doing there is he's showing
[77:30] all the different plugins that he's
[77:31] using on his Look at you zooming in. I
[77:33] love it. So he's showing his workflow in
[77:35] in his music studio. So he's able to
[77:38] actually do these realtime changes
[77:39] instead of having to share the entire
[77:41] screen. He's able to share three
[77:43] separate little windows and he can do
[77:45] these changes live. People are seeing
[77:47] what he's doing live. It's it's such a
[77:49] it's so it looks really slick, you know.
[77:51] It doesn't it's not just functional.
[77:53] It's actually looks good,
[77:55] >> which is something that we tend to
[77:56] strive towards, isn't it? You know,
[77:57] >> exactly. Offering not just really
[78:00] functional things, but things that look
[78:01] great.
[78:02] >> Yeah, absolutely. Good design. Uh good
[78:05] for design shows, too. If you're
[78:06] showing, for example, how you work some
[78:08] uh on on certain files in Figma and then
[78:10] how maybe you have an inspiration or
[78:12] like a mood board or some kind of like a
[78:14] brand book. Uh that's a really good way
[78:16] to kind of like keep keep people uh
[78:19] together with like your mindset and like
[78:21] multiple things that you're looking at
[78:22] without without keeping that too
[78:24] distracting. I do think that three
[78:26] screens is a little bit hard to monitor
[78:28] and watch at the same time, especially
[78:30] if you're scrolling and zooming on all
[78:31] of them. Uh but um yeah, it's it's
[78:34] definitely there. Also very cool for
[78:36] trading for
[78:37] >> But imagine Oh, I'm sorry.
[78:39] >> No, no, go ahead. Oh, I imagine you had
[78:41] three screen shares and you want to
[78:43] scroll and zoom on all of them. Prior to
[78:45] this, you had to go to each tab and move
[78:48] around. Now, you can just hover over it
[78:50] and say, "Look at this one." You can
[78:51] move around on the each tab. It's it's
[78:53] it really is uh it really is excellent.
[78:55] >> By simply clicking a little button, you
[78:58] just you just get it you just get it
[78:59] done.
[79:00] >> Lovely. Uh and a few more. So, there are
[79:03] a few more updates on clips. Um we are
[79:05] not going to get too focused on this but
[79:08] yes the clips get refreshed look uh
[79:11] there are more there's more information
[79:12] there you can see the whole transcript
[79:14] you can see the virality score and like
[79:16] a little explanation on why the score
[79:18] has been assigned so definitely uh play
[79:21] with reream clips uh we have a separate
[79:24] live show dedicated to clips from last
[79:26] week give it a check um and if you are
[79:29] completely new to reream clips uh that
[79:32] is our own solution, our own feature
[79:36] that allows you to turn your long form
[79:38] videos such as streams or recorded
[79:40] content into short vertical highlights.
[79:42] Uh, really great to expand your content,
[79:46] perfect for repurposing, really awesome
[79:48] for pre-production and basically teasers
[79:51] and pre-promotion and announcements
[79:53] because you can create like a little
[79:54] short video that explains what your
[79:56] streams and your uh, live show is going
[79:58] to look like and basically give people a
[80:00] little taster. Uh really good for ads.
[80:03] If something really exciting and
[80:04] insightful happened during your live
[80:06] show, you can create that clip and run
[80:07] it uh boost it with with additional
[80:09] budget and actually run it as an ad. So
[80:11] many different applications all in one
[80:13] platform, same reream ecosystem, same
[80:16] account. Uh give it a try and if you're
[80:18] already using reream clips, let us know
[80:19] how that goes. We always love feedback
[80:21] on that one. And I think we transitioned
[80:24] into January at this point. uh small but
[80:28] mighty update about how our channels uh
[80:31] changed and I actually am going to show
[80:34] you this video because I believe it's a
[80:36] little easier to just watch it like this
[80:38] on the side when it's more enlarged. Uh
[80:41] so what this update does is it allows
[80:43] you to uh control and manage your
[80:46] channels a little bit easier. But my
[80:48] favorite part is that now when you click
[80:50] on any particular channel such as
[80:51] YouTube, you can see a ton of
[80:54] information. And I'm just going to pause
[80:55] here because I think this is super
[80:56] important. You can see a lot of
[80:58] information on what this channel is
[81:00] capable of, right? So basically it's
[81:01] like the whole technical background uh
[81:04] on whether this channel is going to
[81:05] accept chats like the questions that you
[81:07] guys ask a lot. Can we get chats from
[81:10] Tik Tok or uh Instagram for example? So
[81:12] for YouTube it's a check right like you
[81:15] do. What is the maximum quality that you
[81:17] can reach there? For YouTube it is 4K.
[81:19] Not all platforms do support that, but
[81:20] you can actually connect your channels
[81:22] and immediately find all that
[81:23] information. And also you can see in
[81:25] which streams, past or future, this
[81:28] channel is enabled. Really cool way to
[81:30] see what went live on your YouTube
[81:31] versus what went live on your LinkedIn.
[81:33] Uh and uh I think we are going to
[81:36] continue improving this uh showing you
[81:38] more like whether the stream was
[81:39] vertical or horizontal, like all kinds
[81:41] of uh cool and interesting information.
[81:43] So overall, uh the goal here is just to
[81:45] make it easier and more efficient for
[81:48] you to use channels so you can kind of
[81:50] sort and update them. Uh and the the
[81:53] main major goal here is just help you
[81:55] move faster when you prepare your
[81:57] streams uh and keep you informed. So um
[82:00] that is our update on channels. And the
[82:03] next one is actually very exciting for
[82:06] our YouTube creators because as of
[82:08] January, we do allow you to set your
[82:12] monetization settings for YouTube
[82:14] directly in reream. And how that is
[82:18] going to work, we'll probably just hear
[82:20] from Charles, but a pre-recorded
[82:23] Charles. So, let's uh let's have a look
[82:26] at the short that you created about this
[82:28] this new ability.
[82:32] Now your streams can earn while you are
[82:35] live. Creators, a quick note about
[82:37] money. Don't let your income live on one
[82:39] platform. Monetize wherever you can,
[82:42] especially when multistreaming. YouTube
[82:44] actually lets eligible streamers opt
[82:46] into ads during the show. Find YouTube
[82:48] in your channel list, hit edit, toggle
[82:51] run ads on stream, pick a midroll
[82:54] frequency, conservative, balanced,
[82:55] aggressive, and then save. And if you
[82:57] aren't eligible just yet, no stress. You
[83:00] can still monetize in other ways like
[83:02] merch. Although personally I am
[83:04] completely immune to merch and special
[83:08] >> uh
[83:10] the the Costco pun intended. Uh but yeah
[83:15] uh so
[83:18] >> you don't want to know how long I lined
[83:20] up to get that hat.
[83:21] >> Oh my god, I can't imagine. But no, it
[83:23] works. It works here and I think I think
[83:25] it's lovely. But yeah, the the gist of
[83:27] it is that if you are eligible for
[83:28] monetization on YouTube, you can set it
[83:30] directly in reream and um it is uh
[83:34] something that a lot of our YouTubers
[83:36] were asking for uh and and now it's
[83:38] there. So let us know if you tried it
[83:40] and if it helps uh and on on that uh oh
[83:46] let me very quickly transition us back
[83:49] to our change log screen. So we don't
[83:53] have a lot of updates left. Uh I believe
[83:57] the last thing that we will be showing
[84:00] today is actually around the settings.
[84:04] So uh there are some new uh settings
[84:07] that you can um basically just like a
[84:09] new look for settings uh that also gives
[84:11] you a little bit more context and like
[84:14] better and unified design. So if you
[84:16] haven't seen our settings page in a long
[84:18] time, you're in for a treat. uh this was
[84:20] something that our product manager uh
[84:23] created I believe kind of vip coding in
[84:25] a vip coding style. So that was very
[84:27] interesting uh experiment uh for for us
[84:30] kind of like changing the way we work
[84:32] internally and uh a lot of times uh
[84:35] settings and uh this kind of like
[84:37] backendish pages do not get enough love.
[84:40] Uh but our settings did get a revamp and
[84:42] a little makeover. So have a look. It's
[84:44] really good because it helps you to find
[84:45] information about your billing, about
[84:47] your um encoder settings, your
[84:51] uh your protocols like all the
[84:53] selections. If you're using encoder, you
[84:55] can select between RTMP, SRT and whip.
[84:58] Uh all of those settings are there. Uh
[85:00] and of course uh there is
[85:01] authentication, password, privacy, uh
[85:04] notification settings. So all the good
[85:05] stuff. Uh give it a try. Have a look. It
[85:08] looks it looks very different and very
[85:09] cool right now. Uh so and on this in
[85:14] there's probably things in there that
[85:15] you didn't know you could affect. You
[85:17] know, things like setting up um a preset
[85:19] style for the clips, your clips when
[85:21] they're generated or you know, running a
[85:23] speed test, things like that.
[85:25] >> Absolutely.
[85:25] >> To see make sure you're on the local
[85:27] server and things like that. So, there's
[85:29] actually there's a bunch of really
[85:30] useful stuff in there that you is worth
[85:32] exploring. Speed test is really lovely
[85:34] because sometimes you can see not only
[85:35] the speed test of your own internet but
[85:37] you can also collect to one of our
[85:40] servers and just kind of see how well
[85:41] that connection works because sometimes
[85:43] when people come in and say, "Oh, we're
[85:45] having issues with race."
[85:47] >> Um especially when people do that on
[85:48] social media. It's very interesting to
[85:50] see because there's so many different
[85:51] things that could affect that. Uh, and
[85:53] that's why we always encourage you to
[85:54] reach out to our support to our 247 real
[85:57] humans because those folks know their
[85:59] stuff and they can investigate your
[86:02] exact account. And one of the first
[86:03] thing they will always check is how is
[86:05] your connection to our servers working?
[86:07] >> Mh.
[86:07] >> And sometimes just simply transition you
[86:10] to another server uh that might be
[86:12] geographically a little further but it
[86:14] might make sense for the moment because
[86:17] one of the servers can be overloaded or
[86:18] something might be happening to it. Uh
[86:20] could a lot of times solve your problem.
[86:22] But before you go live, you can simply
[86:23] go to settings and actually give it a
[86:25] little health check. Um, so that's yeah,
[86:27] that's actually a really good point,
[86:28] Charles. Thanks for bringing that one
[86:30] up. Um, speaking of health and other
[86:34] things, I am going to give you a little
[86:37] teaser of what is going to be our next
[86:40] show next week, next Wednesday. Uh,
[86:43] because it's a super exciting update
[86:44] that is still in progress. It is rolling
[86:46] out as we speak and we are going to talk
[86:48] about it in depth next week. Uh it is
[86:51] drum roll uh the drum roll that I don't
[86:54] have um the fan whatever
[86:56] >> it will have to do this uh the reream
[86:58] analytics we are we received a lot of
[87:01] requests and a lot of uh feedback from
[87:03] our creators that it would be so much
[87:07] more useful uh to use multistreaming and
[87:10] multiccasting software if we actually
[87:11] got a lot more information on what
[87:13] different platforms are doing and how
[87:14] they uh perform. There were also tons
[87:17] and tons of feedback even from me
[87:19] personally that I would love to come
[87:20] back to my chat. I would like to see the
[87:22] comments that I miss. I would like to
[87:23] run them through uh certain applications
[87:27] potentially maybe slightly AIdriven to
[87:29] understand the sentiment uh the best
[87:32] questions that are that could be
[87:34] interpreted as feature requests u maybe
[87:35] some feedback maybe some uh interesting
[87:38] insights on how people use certain
[87:39] features or products. So now with the
[87:41] new restroom analytics you'll have all
[87:42] these options uh and so much more. This
[87:45] is just a tiny tiny snippet of the very
[87:48] first MVP version of what the rich
[87:50] stream analytics the new reimagined ones
[87:52] are going to look like. So if you want
[87:54] to learn more about how the re the live
[87:56] stream reporting uh the insights the
[87:59] stats are going to look like don't miss
[88:01] our next show. It's next Wednesday. My
[88:03] co-host will be Matt who actually built
[88:05] this and we are going to take you in for
[88:08] a very exciting ride. So we would love
[88:10] to see you there. Um, with that in mind,
[88:14] we are going to go ahead and go right
[88:16] back into the chat. And honestly, I'm
[88:18] going to just pop it on because we
[88:20] talked about live stream overlay uh for
[88:23] comments and I think we should we should
[88:26] just do it. Show on stream.
[88:29] All right, I am going to
[88:33] make a compact. So, I'm just going to uh
[88:36] this is uncharacteristically of me.
[88:38] Instead of preparing it, I'm actually
[88:40] going to
[88:43] >> Oh, look.
[88:43] >> to put it here.
[88:44] >> How easy it is for you to move around.
[88:47] >> But yeah, that was part of the idea. I
[88:48] wanted to show it um as as a whole
[88:52] and I am going to also highlight a
[88:55] couple of questions.
[88:57] There's so many so many cool comments. I
[89:00] love it. I'm going to go back to the
[89:01] pinned ones and uh and we we're going to
[89:04] take a few and um hopefully hopefully
[89:08] answer it. All right, I think we stopped
[89:11] at um Love it guys, you got my vote from
[89:16] the internet tour and still no applause.
[89:18] Sad stuff. Uh so the next one is going
[89:20] to be from Circuits FM custom
[89:22] countdowns. Yes. Uh that is literally
[89:25] update from today. So, it was super
[89:26] exciting to announce it and uh yeah, let
[89:28] us know what kind of customizations
[89:30] you're going to do for it. Uh it's
[89:32] always good to see what you guys are up
[89:33] to. Uh and how long do you think your
[89:36] countdowns are supposed to be and what
[89:38] is a good timing for countdown. My vote
[89:40] goes for two minutes. That that's that's
[89:42] as long as I'm I'm willing to countdown,
[89:44] but let me know if you if you do it
[89:46] differently. Danger zone. It would be
[89:48] nice for when the countdown ends and the
[89:50] scene switches if it could also kill the
[89:52] music track since my intro is usually
[89:55] next with its own track. It does do
[89:57] that. It does have a smooth uh smooth
[90:00] kind of like transition. And if you have
[90:02] the outer switch on once your countdown
[90:05] timer is done, if you selected a custom
[90:07] specific music for that countdown, which
[90:09] we always do because our designer Dmitri
[90:11] creates those for us, uh it once it
[90:13] transitions to our actual scene, uh the
[90:16] music stops. Um, so, so that's that's
[90:18] already there. Definitely check it out.
[90:21] Uh, seriously, time by song would be
[90:23] great. Yeah, you can do it. So, right
[90:25] now, um, I I I see what you're saying
[90:28] here. I think right now you have to know
[90:30] your song timing, right? And you have to
[90:32] still set it up, but it would be cool to
[90:33] automate that. Imagine if you could say,
[90:35] "Hey, countdown to this song. Customize
[90:38] by by the song duration." And it just
[90:39] like automatically does it and says,
[90:41] "Okay, that's going to be three minutes
[90:42] and 15 seconds for you today." Uh that's
[90:44] a that's a good that's a good little um
[90:47] detail request.
[90:48] >> There are quite quite a lot of details
[90:50] that you could add to the countdowns,
[90:52] but then you sort of get into that
[90:54] territory of having too much
[90:56] >> when you have like when when it's overly
[90:58] complicated, it might become less usable
[91:01] and there so there is a balance to be
[91:02] found there. But that's I think that
[91:04] that's actually quite a good suggestion.
[91:06] >> Yeah, that's really really cool. Uh all
[91:08] right, so there's Wow from Danger Zone
[91:11] with Fire. Hopefully that was about one
[91:13] of the updates that we shared on change
[91:14] log. Uh but that's yeah that's that's
[91:17] really cool.
[91:19] There is a skipper of veteran nation. I
[91:21] still wish I could use OBS and bring in
[91:24] guests through reream instead of
[91:25] choosing between OBS or guests. Um well
[91:29] yes. So you can use OBS as a as a
[91:32] virtual camera I believe. Uh I I I think
[91:35] you do that a lot right for your
[91:36] tutorials.
[91:36] >> I do a lot actually. I use I use OBS but
[91:39] OBS as a virtual camera. only the
[91:41] camera. It's not sound.
[91:43] >> Yes,
[91:43] >> you can bring people into OBS. Like that
[91:45] is that is possible. You can send invite
[91:47] links and bring people into OBS. I
[91:49] haven't used it in a professional
[91:51] setting. I've experimented with it and
[91:53] it works.
[91:54] >> Yeah.
[91:54] >> Can't I can't speak on it, you know, in
[91:58] in anything other than the sort of
[91:59] experimentations. But you can actually
[92:01] you can actually send out like links to
[92:02] people.
[92:04] >> I haven't done it for a while. I think
[92:06] it's just so much easier to do it
[92:07] through studio though because uh guest
[92:09] management in studio is just so much
[92:12] more simple and it's al so so much more
[92:13] simple for guests. I don't know what the
[92:14] flow is for the OBS guests to join you.
[92:17] I'm sure there are some steps that they
[92:19] need to take. Uh in studio it's so
[92:21] simple. First of all, it is just a
[92:23] simple link they click and it's kind of
[92:24] like joining a Google meet. They don't
[92:26] need to do anything. They just enter
[92:28] studio, allow access to their camera and
[92:30] mic and here they are ready to to rock
[92:32] with you. There's also major benefit of
[92:34] bringing guests in studio and that's
[92:35] pairs. If your guest has big audience
[92:38] and following on the channels, they can
[92:40] rebroadcast and amplify your event on
[92:42] their channels through studio and that
[92:44] is not possible through OBS. So that's
[92:45] another big uh big advantage there. Let
[92:48] us know in the comments uh if you can
[92:51] why you would prefer to have guests in
[92:53] OBS versus studio. what is missing in
[92:55] studio for your workflow and for your
[92:57] show uh to um to kind of like still try
[93:00] to it sounds like you're choosing
[93:02] between that means that there's value
[93:03] there. Uh so I would like to know a
[93:05] little bit more about that and maybe
[93:06] there's something that we are already
[93:08] building or that's something that should
[93:10] be planned or requested.
[93:12] Nice stuff. Uh with all these tips and
[93:14] enhancement I should be able to stream
[93:16] while asleep uh by the end of 26. Yes,
[93:19] >> we can.
[93:20] >> You already can. Yeah. Uh one of the
[93:24] things that we will do soon uh we've
[93:26] been kind of uh piling up this episodes
[93:28] uh to reach to the critical mass to the
[93:31] point where we can actually uh create a
[93:34] whole live show made of uh basically
[93:37] best of episodes of our previous
[93:39] streams, right? And we are actually
[93:41] going to schedule up pretty soon so you
[93:43] can stitch up the best of moments of
[93:45] your live streams as well as tutorials
[93:47] and maybe some other videos that you
[93:48] created and use reream, upload and
[93:51] stream. Uh it's a pre-recorded videos
[93:53] made live uh feature uh and uh basically
[93:57] schedule streams for while you are
[93:59] asleep unavailable uh or you know when
[94:03] whenever you want. Uh this is really
[94:06] good for capturing other time zones that
[94:07] you might not be awake for. This is also
[94:10] great for the times when you just need a
[94:11] break uh vacations uh family trips just
[94:14] just a time off. And it's also possible
[94:17] to schedule pre-recorded video as a
[94:20] polished edited event. Make it appear as
[94:23] live on all social channels and then
[94:24] jump into the chat. So you can still
[94:26] keep this interactive element and talk
[94:27] to your audience by typing and answering
[94:30] their questions. But the content is
[94:31] polished. It's perfect. Uh and it's
[94:33] ready to go. Another major benefit of
[94:36] uploading a stream and I promise I will
[94:38] end this shameless plug right after that
[94:40] is that when you upload your video and
[94:43] then schedule it to go live it is
[94:46] completely immune to any kind of
[94:47] technical issues. So as long as Reream
[94:50] exists, as long as internet is available
[94:52] on planet Earth, once that video hit
[94:55] Reream servers, it is already there and
[94:58] it's going to go live. Even if your
[94:59] internet crashes, if your computer
[95:01] accidentally fell into the river and
[95:04] whatever happens to uh to to you doesn't
[95:07] really affect how that video is going to
[95:10] play. So, it's already on our servers.
[95:12] It's going to go live at the exact time
[95:13] that you selected for it to go live and
[95:15] it's going to be yeah, it's going to be
[95:17] exciting.
[95:18] >> And it so it is a live stream so you can
[95:20] still interact with your combined chat.
[95:22] Yeah,
[95:22] >> it is a live stream. So, you're get, you
[95:24] know, if you're going to a platform that
[95:26] requires a certain amount of hours
[95:28] >> of of content before you can monetize,
[95:31] it's going to contribute to that. And as
[95:33] you say, you can do it, you can you can
[95:35] just set it, forget it, or you can then
[95:37] just dip in and out and chat with your
[95:39] community. It's a
[95:39] >> Yeah,
[95:40] >> it's a it's really good. And the the
[95:42] other thing about it is, let's say
[95:43] you're not so confident on air, um you
[95:46] can pre-record and just edit it, make it
[95:48] perfect, maybe try it again, and then
[95:51] upload and stream it. And um streamed
[95:54] content is uh pushed harder by
[95:57] algorithms. And so there is a benefit to
[96:00] actually if you're going to release a
[96:01] podcast, why not why not just live
[96:03] stream it as a you know, why not rather
[96:06] than just uploading it? You may as well.
[96:09] >> Absolutely. Absolutely. Good stuff. Um,
[96:12] >> hard cell there.
[96:13] >> Hard sell there. Uh, Nick is asking, "I
[96:17] have been using the vertical reream
[96:18] plugin and I love it." That's so good to
[96:20] hear. This is this is just music to
[96:23] yours. Thank you so much. Uh, let us
[96:24] know if we can make it better because
[96:25] we'd love to. Uh, you guys have been on
[96:27] a hot streak for 2026. Vertical Reream
[96:30] plugins analytics. What's next? Yeah, so
[96:32] analytics are next. Uh, so definitely
[96:34] join join us for that one. Uh and then
[96:37] and then we'll see because we are
[96:39] building and we're cooking and we are we
[96:41] we have no plans to stop. We are going
[96:43] to service our community the best we
[96:45] can. Uh look at our ideas and up votes.
[96:48] So whatever you guys need, we'll keep
[96:50] building. Uh but analytics is exactly
[96:52] what is coming up shortly.
[96:54] >> You know, our CEO, Alex, his uh his
[96:57] internal messaging um icon is him with a
[97:00] chef's hat. So we're cooking.
[97:03] >> We're cooking. You know you're cooking
[97:04] when your CEO is like, I'm cooking.
[97:07] >> Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Uh one more from
[97:10] Nick here. Any plans for landscape and
[97:12] portrait Twitch stream combined into one
[97:14] uh similar to how you have on YouTube?
[97:16] So we uh covered that a little bit in
[97:18] the beginning uh because Twitch recently
[97:20] announced that they will be doing u
[97:22] announcing a dual format streaming on
[97:24] Twitch as a beta. It is rolling out as
[97:27] we speak and they are going to offer it
[97:29] to uh the API partners such such as
[97:32] Reream. So, we are going to get access
[97:34] to this very soon. It's just in very
[97:36] early stage. As soon as they're ready,
[97:38] as soon as we are ready uh and tested,
[97:41] uh it is going to be available. We're
[97:43] literally uh I I talked to our CEO uh
[97:46] today when he showed up in our studio as
[97:49] a little surprise and he was like,
[97:50] "Yeah, we're looking into this
[97:52] proactively and this is something that
[97:53] we're definitely going to offer." So,
[97:55] stay tuned for that. As soon as it's
[97:57] ready, we will uh we will bring it to
[97:59] you and we'll announce that. So yes,
[98:00] definitely on on the road map,
[98:02] definitely in our plans. Uh will we be
[98:06] able to run a live stream on loop like
[98:09] in OBS? So you can already uh upload
[98:13] your videos through uploaded stream, the
[98:15] shameless plug we did just a few minutes
[98:16] ago. Uh so basically turning it record
[98:18] video into live and there is an option
[98:20] to loop it up to 10 times. So for
[98:21] example, if you have a video that is a
[98:23] few hours, you can loop it 10 times.
[98:25] That's almost a 24-hour stream. you um
[98:29] you can schedule multiple of those. Uh
[98:31] if you're looking to have like a more of
[98:33] a 247 like non-stop always on type
[98:37] channel, that is something that we're
[98:38] looking to offer on our enterprise
[98:40] plans. So reach out to our uh sales team
[98:43] and see what they're offering today.
[98:45] There are some limitations there uh just
[98:47] technical limitations uh but uh we are
[98:50] looking in that direction and looking to
[98:51] do more and more of that. But you can
[98:53] already create a video, create a long
[98:55] video and loop it. We also have a
[98:57] feature called playlists. So if you
[98:58] don't want to necessarily do any editing
[99:00] and you just simply want to upload
[99:02] multiple different videos and make us
[99:05] stitch them together as you would for
[99:07] example like a countdown and like video
[99:09] replace uh you can already do that in
[99:11] studio. So whenever you enter reream
[99:13] dashboard and then you create new the
[99:15] options that you get is connect an
[99:17] encoder enter studio to create a studio
[99:19] room like this one or um create a
[99:22] prerecord video or playlist. If you
[99:23] choose that one, you can then uh drop a
[99:26] few videos, upload them to our to your
[99:28] video storage on reream, select the ones
[99:30] you like and then send them out as a
[99:32] playlist. So there are a few things uh
[99:34] and of course that playlist can consist
[99:36] of, you know, multiple videos kind of
[99:38] like repeating themselves. So that's
[99:39] another way to sort of kind of loop your
[99:41] content, but there is a looping option
[99:43] for um your pre-recorded videos up to 10
[99:46] loops. So check it out. Good stuff. All
[99:49] right. Uh I think we are going to start
[99:53] wrapping up there. There are many
[99:55] different comments coming in. I I really
[99:57] love this. Um so this is
[99:59] >> sounds like fake British potentially
[100:01] Australian. Is that about me? You think
[100:04] >> I I don't think it's about me because I
[100:06] definitely don't don't sound remotely
[100:08] fake British because I don't sound
[100:10] British at all. Uh I think I think what
[100:12] happened here uh if you wonder is that
[100:14] Charles spent a lot of time in United
[100:16] States. So, he's
[100:17] >> sort of kind of transitioning and losing
[100:19] his accent. I'm actually going to remove
[100:21] the chat because we're we're wrapping
[100:23] wrapping up. Um,
[100:26] uh, there is a little little love icon.
[100:28] I guess that was all coming from a very
[100:31] kind and right place in
[100:33] >> British be I'm guessing is British
[100:34] bulldog.
[100:36] >> I'm guessing. I don't know.
[100:37] >> What is a British bulldog? Is it like a
[100:39] just a breed?
[100:40] >> The British bulldog is the sort of the
[100:41] spirit of of Britain. It's a it's a sort
[100:44] of wartime, you know, it's like the
[100:46] British bulldog is the is is an icon of
[100:49] of British
[100:50] >> fortitude and spirit.
[100:52] >> Yeah. It can also be associated with
[100:55] other movements, but uh generally
[100:58] speaking, it was a sort of my best
[100:59] understanding is a sort of all time
[101:01] wartime effort. You know, you don't mess
[101:02] with a British bulldog.
[101:04] >> Gotcha. Okay, cool. That's a cool
[101:06] animal. I love bulldogs. It's very cool
[101:07] dog.
[101:08] >> Fun.
[101:08] >> Yeah. Amazing. Well, thank you so much.
[101:11] And I see a lot of love here from our um
[101:15] wonderful chatters. Uh you guys are
[101:17] amazing. One of the main reasons why uh
[101:19] in the beginning of this year, it's kind
[101:21] of related to change log but not really.
[101:23] Uh I was very comfortable to commit to
[101:25] weekly streams because we will not
[101:27] always have big announcements launched
[101:29] every week. But I was happy to do that
[101:31] is because I knew that we have wonderful
[101:33] community, absolutely amazing audience
[101:35] across all channels and you guys always
[101:37] come prepared. You have great questions,
[101:39] great insights, epic feature requests
[101:41] that we are happy to build and turn into
[101:43] announcements as we go. Uh you have
[101:45] great comments and you always share a
[101:47] lot of love with us in the end. Uh it is
[101:50] truly something that I look forward to
[101:52] every single week. The Wednesday
[101:53] afternoon is my favorite time of the
[101:55] week and my favorite job to do within
[101:57] Reream. There are a lot of things we do
[101:59] at product marketing, but this is the
[102:00] one that keeps me fueled and thriving
[102:03] and like really really drives and um
[102:06] excites me every day. So, thank you so
[102:09] much. You guys in the chat are the ones
[102:11] that make the streams possible and
[102:12] exciting. Uh and of course, thank you
[102:15] very much to the rest of the Reream
[102:16] team, to the studio folks who build the
[102:18] studio and allow us to stream to Grant,
[102:21] our moderator in uh YouTube today.
[102:24] Thanks for keeping the audience uh
[102:25] engaged and excited and answering
[102:27] questions that we cannot take live.
[102:29] Thank you to you, my co-host, video
[102:33] producer, co-producer, editor, uh
[102:36] writer, uh shorts actor, so many
[102:39] different hats that you're wearing,
[102:40] >> hat wearer,
[102:41] >> hat hat wearer. Uh it is always a
[102:44] pleasure. Uh and the dynamic we have is
[102:46] always my favorite. So, thank you so
[102:48] much for showing up today, starting
[102:49] super early for California time and like
[102:52] hanging out with us in our uh in our
[102:55] community. Thank you, Becca, our
[102:56] co-producer today behind the scenes,
[102:58] painting the chats, uh managing
[103:00] everything, making sure that we look
[103:03] great no matter what. Uh and helping us
[103:06] uh helping us with um
[103:09] with with managing the stream and a lot
[103:11] of work that happens before the
[103:13] production. uh how much work both
[103:15] Charles and Becca do to create the
[103:17] videos, to create the screencasts, to
[103:18] build the scenes and help me show up and
[103:21] run this uh like like a professional TV
[103:24] show uh is absolutely unbelievable.
[103:26] Thank you everybody. Um all the
[103:27] creators, all the viewers, all the
[103:30] restream team folks, we will see you
[103:32] around next week. So cheers. You want to
[103:36] do this?
[103:38] >> Oh yeah. Oh, hang on. There you go.
[103:39] >> Ready?
[103:43] >> We did it. Come on. T
[103:44] >> T. Yeah.
[103:47] >> Well done to you. Thank you to you. You
[103:49] do such a great job. You're such a pro
[103:51] at this and you keep it all running
[103:53] smoothly. So, good job to you.
[103:56] >> Well, thank you
[103:58] and cheers.
[103:59] >> Thank you for watching.
[104:12] Heat. Heat. N.

## Highlights
- you guys have seen a lot. We had a dedicated stream on that and this is what we're using right now. We now allow you to stream in landscape and portrait at the same time in studio. It's very simple um and very uh very useful because it allows you to appear in vertical feeds, meet your viewers on the type of screen that they're watching. We actually covered quite a bit of this in the beginning when we covered the news. Uh but this is uh something that we introduced uh relatively recently and have we have been streaming in dual format since then. If you had a chance ([View Highlight](https://read.readwise.io/read/01km13tbkv60fs8em3qygrfa4c))

- say that my portrait stream is going to go on Tik Tok, Instagram, and YouTube. And then my horizontal is going to go on LinkedIn, Twitch, and YouTube. Uh, as well, same one. Uh, which is also one of the updates that we will cover. But uh, this is this is how you get there. Uh, this in studio is a paid feature. So you have to have a professional plan or higher in order to uh use it. We do offer trials if you are on other plans. Uh if you want to just explore it and make sure that is right for you. So basically play before you pay. Uh if you ([View Highlight](https://read.readwise.io/read/01km13tbkzw994hz9ggqteps0q))

- separate block for it so it doesn't cover your video. So there are a lot of things to play with. Uh it is relatively new. Definitely build build by your requests and per your um your ideas, submissions and up votes. Uh we had a dedicated stream for that. There's a tutorial video that you can find uh to see how exactly that works. And we do uh show it on our stream and we'll show it in the end during the Q&A session as well. >> We had a lot of fun with it, didn't we? We had Yeah, because there are a lot of themes that are kind of like we try to ([View Highlight](https://read.readwise.io/read/01km13tbm4v00g35hv672pw3tv))

- space to do that as well as our support team. Reach out to us. Uh let us know what you think. It's always good to hear your feedback. Uh moving on, still in February, generating clips from parts that matter. So, that is an update uh that I just want to refresh real quick because we had yet again a dedicated stream uh for just uh new clips features last week. So, you can come back to that if you're not afraid of my sick husky voice that I was hosting that stream ([View Highlight](https://read.readwise.io/read/01km13tbm8dvjs68c1w61vmpe1))
