No, I don’t have a hoverboard. What is the German word for ‘returning to something after many years to discover nothing has really changed, yet everyone else finds it new and surprising’? (Well, OK, obviously the admin interface has gone to hell, but I wasn’t so far out of the loop I didn’t know that already. Still. *Oof.*) So I saw [this post](https://ask.metafilter.com/382321/Alternatives-to-Wordpress) on ask mefi, was all like ‘oh lord what has he done now’, and ended up on the [subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress/). Which was fun. Honestly I’m just here to delete the spam, make a backup for my own records, and link [some](https://gist.github.com/adrienne/aea9dd7ca19c8985157d9c42f7fc225d) [timelines](https://bullenweg.com/). Matt-related stuff was tagegorised under [megalomania](https://wank.wordpress.com/category/megalomania/), but I don’t expect anyone to wade through all that, so here are some of my personal favourites: * [who’s your daddy?](https://wank.wordpress.com/2005/04/01/whos-your-daddy/) * [how wordpress democracy works](https://wank.wordpress.com/2006/08/15/how-wordpress-democracy-works/) * [but glue is sticky](https://wank.wordpress.com/2007/04/12/but-glue-is-sticky/) * [wp, phone home](https://wank.wordpress.com/2007/09/24/wp-phone-home/) * [on the founding of the founderation](https://wank.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/on-the-founding-of-the-founderation/) Be well.
