Bethel’s Forced Apology: Part 2

So Bethl finally apologized for not warning people about Shawn BS and his fake prophetic words as well as the sexual allegations against him from his former staff. So in the last video I talked about Chris and Dan's portion of the sermon where they went up to take accountability and a little bit about Bill. So basically one thing I did not love is how he skipped over the TBN portion. So, if you're not familiar, basically Bill did a joint appearance with Shawn after he knew all of this, after he had talked to a victim. And I
feel like that was just completely brushed over in his apology. He said that he showed up. And I go into it a bit more in my last video. But to me, that was not a good enough explanation. And to me, the only way to explain it is that I genuinely don't think that Bill cares, that these people are cons. That is why he continued to promote him in my opinion. Um because I've also just heard things that make me feel like he does not have the best character. So I didn't love his apology really and I still
didn't feel like he truly understands what the victims have been through. And one thing that they kept talking about is just restoring leaders and how much that means to Bethl to restore these fallen broken men. And unfortunately, Bethl has a long history of platforming people who have done horrible, horrible things all in the name of, I guess, restoring them. But they often don't really think about how that affects the victims to see their abusers platformed
by people like Bethl. Um, also I don't believe that some of those people ever changed. So, um, yeah, didn't love that portion of the sermon. And you know when you go to a job interview and they ask you what your greatest weakness is and you're supposed to say something like I care too much. Um that's my biggest weakness and my biggest weakness is actually a strength. Um he kind of did that in the sermon. He was saying that one of his biggest weaknesses is believing in people too much. So this idea that he's just really naive and
just believes in people um is his greatest strength and weakness at the same time. If you guys have not listened to my podcast episodes with Jedadiah Hartley, his dad is Bob Hartley and Bob Hartley was also another prophetic minister in these circles and he was loved by Bethl and Bill Johnson adored him, promoted him and he was also getting these words of knowledge from online and also through church directories and he was also abusing
women. And when Bill Johnson was made aware of this, he was made aware of this. Okay. Numerous times. Um, and Bill still had a meeting with the three of them with Jedadiah, Bob, and Bill. And Bill said, "You and Bob Jones are the most important prophetic voices to come out of Bethl or to speak here at Bethl." And to me, I mean, when you know that information, you know that he has been accused of this or his son is telling you, "Hey, like I know that this is
happening. I've seen it with my own eyes." and for you to still say that and validate that um and to not protect your congregation from him. That is one of my biggest issues with Bill Johnson still because there were parts of the sermon that did ring true. But the issue is that there's so many other people that Bethl have platformed like Bob Hartley and they they hadn't really made any sort of formal announcement to the the public. I think that they had sent out a staff email. Um, there's also the Mike Bickle
of it all and the IHOP. They stayed completely silent on all of those issues. And then, like I said, there's things that I'm not allowed to talk about. Um, because I think it's [laughter] just a lot of cover up types of things that and I have been sworn to secrecy. So, um, there are things that make me feel like Bethl has still not addressed the things that they're not being called out on. And it is hard to take the accountability seriously when
you know that this accountability was not chosen. It was forced like 100% because people were complaining about this for over a year now when I first started to make my videos and the alumni were demanding answers and people were completely iced out and people came to them in good faith. I know people personally who had one-on-one conversations with Chris Belton expressing frustration and um he didn't like care guys [laughter]
you know so I mean this is not the first time that people have been begging these people to care to say something to warn people to like they were even explaining you don't understand people could be living out these prophetic words you could be saving lives look at Jubilee's story and they didn't care genuinely didn't care. Um, and I think a lot of it just has to boils down to loyalty and also I do believe that a lot of these people in the charismatic sector have dirt on each other. Um, so I think that
that was part of it. Um, but who knows? I mean, I don't know. For all I know, Bethl is going to release a statement saying, "Here's the other things we've stayed silent on now that we have made this new commitment that we are going to be transparent and here's other things that are still left unsaid." Maybe they're going to do that, but if they don't do that, this is how I feel about Bethl. Also, this statement was supposedly from Dan, Chris, Bill, and Danny Silk, but Danny wasn't there and
he didn't speak, so he might not have been in town, which is fine, but somebody sent this to me and said that this was sent out from Danny. And I have to reiterize a couple of things because to me it doesn't seem like he's on the same page of taking full accountability like it seemed during the sermon. It seems like he still has some interesting beliefs about this whole thing. So he said this is why it is so important to say clearly reluctance to confront is not the same thing as deception. Bill's
hesitation was not a cover up of Shawn Bza's actions. It was the result of a deeper tangle, a web of shared beliefs, fears, loyalties, and leadership dynamics that made clarity difficult and unity elusive. Leaders were trying to find a path forward that minimized damage, protected people, and preserved the organization. Bottom line, in my opinion, even as agreement remained frustratingly out of reach, this story does not need villains. It needs wisdom. There are no
bad guys here, only flawed people navigating pressure and misunderstanding and moments where fear outweighed clarity. So, while I appreciated Chris Valton saying, "I completely messed up. I made a mistake." I don't know what that is. I mean, to me that it's like there's no bad guys here, only people who we really did our best and there was no deception involved at all. And I just don't believe that. And some of the reactions from people are driving me
absolutely crazy. People saying, "Thank you guys for always choosing humility. I have never been so proud to be a daughter of this movement and just giving Bethl their flowers, for handling this in such a beautiful way." Okay, [laughter] that's so crazy because this took many years of forcing their hand and they were afraid that they were going to lose money. And yes, was it the right thing to finally address this? Yes. And I am thankful. I will say it looks like Shawn Bulls's page is down.
It doesn't seem like it exists anymore. And then I also heard that he had something up either on his website or through an email that he's stepping away. So yes, it it is a huge win that he is not going to be conning people, at least for now. I wouldn't be surprised if he's like, I'm restored. And honestly, maybe Bethl would even be like, we will restore him. Um, who knows? But I guess, you know, that is a win. And I am glad that Bethl finally said that. It does feel validating to
finally have all of these people realize that all of us who were causing such a ruckus because a lot of us in the BETHL alumni page and yeah, just the alumni in general who were trying to raise awareness, people were so mean and vicious and saying to just shut up, to just drop it. And it was a very painful year. Honestly, I've had people harassing me in my DMs, calling me a liar, a professional victim, uh just being absolutely atrocious. So, yeah, in
my opinion, this is the bare minimum that Bethl could have done. So, yes, it's good that they address this, but there is 10 million other things that they haven't addressed. And I think that they're framing it as this is a mistake that we made, but this is a pattern of behavior that they still have not fully taken ownership, Bethel’s Forced Apology: Part 2, YouTube, 01kgfxjfpyv43ydg25vbh35ra0.
