## 🎯 Overview & Goal of Landing Pages
- Landing pages target a specific audience from a specific traffic source to drive a single, clear call to action (CTA). Homepages are broader and route users to different destinations. The landing page should either sell, subscribe, or capture leads through forms. [0:00–0:55](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=0s)
## 🧱 Blocks vs Block Patterns
- Blocks are individual components (images, columns, buttons).
- Block Patterns are curated, reusable groups of blocks that make building faster and less overwhelming, especially for complex sections like pricing tables or hero areas. [0:55–2:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=55s)
## 💸 Adding Pricing Tables
- Insert pricing table block patterns from your theme or core patterns; customize plan names, descriptions, alignment, and buttons. Example: “Individual”, “Group”, price points like “$199”. [2:15–3:45](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=135s)
## 📬 Adding Contact/Request a Quote Form
- Add a “Contact” block to create a lead capture area; configure for “Request a quote,” service selection (e.g., Single vs Group). This can be the primary CTA. [3:45–4:35](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=225s)
## 🏛️ Using the WordPress.org Pattern Library
- If your theme lacks suitable patterns, use the official Pattern Library at WordPress.org. Search for “pricing tables,” copy a pattern, and paste it into your editor. Community-contributed patterns are available, and you can contribute your own. [4:35–5:40](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=275s)
## 🚀 Publishing & Driving Traffic
- Publish the page, then drive targeted traffic via blog posts and ads that link directly to the landing page. Each landing page should match traffic intent and encourage a specific action. Don’t be afraid to use blocks/patterns to build quickly. [5:40–6:44](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS705N_uS2Q&t=340s)
## 📝 Summary:
This GoDaddy Pro video shows how to build a focused WordPress landing page using Gutenberg blocks and, importantly, block patterns to speed up layout creation. It walks through creating a new page, selecting and customizing pricing table patterns, adding a “Request a quote” contact form, and leveraging the WordPress.org Pattern Library for additional sections. Finally, it emphasizes publishing and promoting the landing page through targeted content and ads to match user intent and maximize conversions.
## 📖 Main Content:
- Intent-driven design: Landing pages should welcome a specific audience and guide them to a single action (purchase, subscribe, inquire).
- Blocks vs patterns: Patterns reduce the cognitive load of assembling complex sections from scratch; they’re reusable and theme- or community-provided.
- Practical build steps:
- Create page in WP Admin.
- Insert pricing table pattern; edit plan names (“Individual”, “Group”), adjust price and button styling, tweak alignment.
- Add a contact/request form; configure fields relevant to your service (e.g., service type).
- Pattern Library workflow:
- Browse WordPress.org Pattern Library for “pricing tables.”
- Copy pattern, paste into editor; iterate visually.
- Launch and distribution:
- Publish page; connect with traffic sources—blog posts, targeted ads—and align messaging to audience intent.
- Mindset: Don’t be intimidated—patterns accelerate quality output and keep the process approachable.

## 🗣️ Paraphrase:
1) Original idea: “Building a page from blocks can feel overwhelming; using patterns, which are pre-grouped blocks, simplifies the process.”
- Paraphrase: Constructing entire sections piece by piece can be daunting. Prefabricated block patterns bundle layout and styling so you can drop in a complete section and tweak content instead of assembling from scratch.
2) Original idea: “Landing pages should target specific audiences and drive a focused action; homepages are general.”
- Paraphrase: A landing page is purpose-built for a particular visitor segment and a single conversion goal, whereas a homepage acts as a broad overview that routes people to various areas of the site.

[Music]foreign[Music]my name is Drew wild and I'm fromGoDaddy Pro and the managed WordPresshosting team and today we're going to betalking about building landing pageswith blocks anddifferent ways to use blocks and blockpatterns in order to build your landingpages so the first thing we have to dois come over here to our WP admin comeover here to my pages sectionand what we're going to do is we'regoing to click add new
I'm going to click on the add new pagesection because I havemy specific theme it does give me acouple of options to add a template thisis the Go theme from GoDaddy and itStyles my pages specifically and if Icreate a new page I get a couple ofdifferent templates that I can use fortoday's purposes I'm going to create ablank page now when we're creating alanding pagewhat we're going to want to make sure itdoes is speaks to a specific audience an
audience that might be coming from aspecific traffic channel for examplemaybe a blog post links to your websiteand you don't want them to landspecifically on your home page which ismore generic maybe you want them to landon a specific landing page that welcomesthat audience in in order to drive aconversion or to drive a follow upsubscribe whatever it may be or alanding page could be used tolanding page to sell my subscription
service so the other major purpose oflanding pages is is a very targeted callto action that you're going to want tomake sure happens when somebody comes toyour landing page to increase conversionyour home page is more designed toeducate and to drive action to differentlanding pages perhaps a contact page ora landing page to buy or a landing pageto subscribe to input a contact formwhatever it may be so for today we'regoing to create a landing page to sell
my subscription service and what I cando here using blocks is I have access toall the different blocks I can evensearch foryou know different things like maybe Iwant to add an image as the first thinghere for my landing page and I caninsert an image and I can kind of comeinto herefor today's purposesI want to make sure it's very wellunderstood thatyou know building a page from blocks outof the box could be a bit more
difficult and for me it's a bitoverwhelming at times to think that Ihave to create a whole landing page justusing blocks and so what I use manytimes are these patterns the patternsare a grouping of blocks so it's thesame exact thing it's just thatdevelopers other users of Wordpress haveessentially savedblock patterns as specific items thatyou can add all together so if I comeover here to the column section here I
can see that there is a pricing tableblock pattern that I can insert rightinto my page I just click it and thereit is if I were to search for pricingtable you would have seen a differentpricing table here that I could add letme add the one from my theme you can seethere's two different options justwithin context of mybuilding experience here that I couldadd tosell my subscription service and so this
is a single I'm going to call this one agroupplan and I'm going to call this one agroupPlusplan and you can just you know addwhatever it may be maybe you don't likethe way the button looks you can startto change a few of these items I wantthis to align to the bottomof the page you know whatever it may beyou can start to tweak thepage however you want it to look or
however you want it to be I'm going toadd another option here that saysuhgood for 5 to 10 people you know you cansee here the blocks once they're addedthey're very easy to useforeigncan add different items or maybe youwant to say I'm going to start lookingat this particular planI'm going to call this one my
individualand this is my group and this is 199that is now and I can say Okay Yep thisis how I'm going to you know build up199. so one dollarso you can see here okay these are acouple different options I have and thelast thing I want on my landing page isa contact form so if I can justsearch for contactI can just add a contact form right here
actually going to be arequest a quoteoption hereyou can say the services and ones areare single or groupor whatever it may be you can say okaygreat now I'm going to create a contactfor maybe that's the only thing that Iwant on my landing page you can see thedifferent options that you have forcreating a landing page with blocks andspecifically block patterns now if youare thinking that your theme or your out
of the box WordPress experience doesn'thave the right patterns for you thereare different pattern galleries that youcan go to the one that I'll show offtoday is the wordpress.org patternGallery you can search patterns here ifI go pricingif I just search for the pricing tablesoh you can look here there's a ton ofdifferent pricing table options you canjust click and copy this and you canjust paste it right into your site justby copying it onto your clipboard fromthe pattern Library here on
wordpress.org and these arethese are block patterns that peoplefrom the community have built and maybeyou create a block pattern you can evendo that yourself and save it here andlet other people use itonce we're done here with our creating alanding page obviously this one's alittle hectic with a couple of differentplanning or pricing tables so I'm goingto actually remove this one keep thisone keep my contact form here I'm goingto publish this page
I'm going to goto this page URLyou can see that this has now become apart of my page and from here you cansay all right how am I going to get thislanding page out to out to my potentialcustomers I'm going tocreate you know have blog posts thatlink to this page specifically orperhaps you want to have specific adsthat drive traffic specifically to thisparticular page but regardless the
landing page either has specific trafficin mind or specific customer action inmind that you want your traffic to takein order to help your business help yoursite grow in the way that you want it tobuilding landing pages in WordPressshould be something that you do not feelafraid of I hope that youcan use blocks and block patterns toyour advantage in creating these pagesand continue on your WordPress Journeythank you very much have a wonderful day[Music], Building Landing Pages With WordPress Blocks, GoDaddy Pro, 01gph2vfvchfb66bhvjkv76wme.
