I've been waiting 6 years to get this out cuz it never fits in a sermon. All right, let's see it. Jesus ascended into heaven when he was standing on in Acts chapter 1 the Mount of Olives. And he specifically said in Acts chapter 1, he said, "I'm going to come in the exact same way that I go." And there are other prophecies. I'm going to read them here in a second that specifically make it sound like it's clear when Jesus returns and he descends, he's going to descend and stand right on top of the Mount of Olives again. >> So, I want to jump in briefly and talk about this photo that Josh just shared. That is the western slope of the Mount of Olives. Now, here's a satellite photo and on the left you can see the old city and the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock. And then I've used a yellow highlighter to circle more or less what is shown in the center of that photograph. That's the western slope of the Mount of Olives directly across the Kidedron Valley from the Temple Mount. We are going to come back to this cuz this is important. Let's go a layer deeper. So if you're ever there on the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Olives is east of the Temple Mount. So, in Ezekiel 43, it's one of the passages that Jewish people for millennia have been like, "That's a messianic prophecy." Listen really close, bro. This is insane. Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing the east, and it was shut. It is to remain shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it. And when it says has entered through it, this is prophetic forcehortening talking about a future event as if it were in the past. This right here is East Gate as seen from when you're standing on the Mount of Olives. That's literally what you're looking at right there. East Gate right there. So, this is known as the Golden Gate. It is sealed up and it has been for 500ish years and it is on the eastern wall of the temple mount and has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the temple or the gate that Ezekiel saw in vision. And there are a number of reasons for this. Primarily because that temple and that gate don't exist, have never existed. That's supposed to be the new temple that is going to exist in the end times. And in that temple, that eastern outer gate is supposed to be directly east from the gate of the sanctuary itself, which is supposed to be directly east from the Holy of Holies. It's all supposed to line up. And the golden gate is actually significantly north of where the temple was located and where a temple would be located if it were built on the existing temple mount. So it would not line up and therefore definitely is not the outer gate that Ezekiel saw in vision. Additionally, that gate was not built during Herod's expansion project when he significantly expanded the size of the Temple Mount. The Temple Mount is actually bigger than what Ezekiel saw in vision and doesn't line up at all with the dimensions or the orientations that Ezekiel saw in vision. And that gate wasn't built until the sixth or seventh centuries CE on top of the remains of earlier walls and earlier gates. So while Josh is going to try to draw connections between the gate from Ezekiel 44 and the golden gate on the east of the temple mount, there are no connections to be drawn. They cannot be related. >> Now you look at it, you're like, "Where's the gate, bro?" Cuz it's all bricked up. The guy's name was Sultan Sullean. He conquered uh Jerusalem in 1517. the Islamic guy had fear of the future Messiah coming and this specific prophecy and he's the dude that bricked up the east gate because he was going, I'm going to make sure that prophecy can never get fulfilled. Okay, now check this out. Zechariah 14:3 and 5, his feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west, making a large valley. Half of the mountain shall move to the north and half of it to the south. In 1964, look this up. There's a million news stories about this. >> There are actually zero news stories about this because what Josh is about to share is something that was made up about 20 years ago. >> These Jewish dudes want to build a hotel on the top of the Mount of Olives. They've got to get a geological survey done before they build on the top of a historic mountain. When they do the geological survey, they discover that there is a fault line that runs right underneath the Mount of Olives. >> So, none of that is true. This is all entirely made up. There was a hotel that was built on the Mount of Olives in 1964. It was built as an intercontinental, although it is now known as the Seven Arches Hotel. And during construction, there was controversy because a parking lot and an entryway were going to destroy a Jewish cemetery. So things had to be moved because of that. There was no geological survey that discovered a fault line underneath the Mount of Olives. And no such discovery changed anything about the construction of the hotel. Now Josh shared this image on the screen and this is based on an actual geological publication. However, some people have written some things on it and those things are lies because as you can see it says Mount of Olives in red on the right. And so it looks like that fault line which is actually there runs right through the Mount of Olives and where it crosses over the name Mount of Olives is more or less even with the old city and the Dome of the Rock. Here's where the lie is. That's absolutely not where the Mount of Olives is. As we saw on the satellite photo earlier, the Mount of Olives is directly across the Kidron Valley from the Temple Mount. It is very close to the Temple Mount. Here is a more updated and a higher resolution version of that geological publication. Now I want to zoom in here and you see a little yellow circle and that is around the Hebrew of the map that is underlying the geological overlay and you can't really read it very well but it says Harazim which means Mount of Olives. Now that is right across the Kidron Valley from the Dome of the Rock, the Temple Mount, the old city. That is not where the fault line is. The fault line is further south. It doesn't touch the Mount of Olives. It actually goes right underneath the peak of the mountain that is just south of the Mount of Olives known as the Mount of Corruption. And then you see some other fault lines that seem to be kind of nestled under the south end of the outcropping that is the city of David. There's no fault line that touches the Mount of Olives or the Temple Mount. That is all just made up. And just to drive home the point, here is the image that Josh shared again. And here is that image with the yellow circles where the actual geological publication places the Mount of Olives. It has nothing to do with that fault line. But Josh is going to make things so much worse in a moment. It is an east to west fault line that runs right from the top of the Mount of Olives right to the east. So even the image that Josh shared in the edited version of this video flatly contradicts what he just said. And I'm sure that he did not have this image up when he was recording this podcast because in this image you can see that the fault line doesn't come anywhere near the Golden Gate or the Dome of the Rock or the Temple Mount. At best, you have a fault line further south at the bottom of the outcropping of the city of David. Additionally, it doesn't pass through the middle of the Mount of Olives. It passes right under the peak of the mount of corruption. So what Josh is claiming is flatly contradicted by the image he shared that has been doctorred to falsely represent this fault line as passing underneath the Mount of Olives. >> When Jesus returns, he'll descend on that mountain. And I think what's going to happen is the Bible talks about the earth and the heavens being shaken. I think that in fulfillment of this prophecy, that whole valley will just do this. All those stones that that dude put in front of that thing are going to fall right down and he's going to walk right through that thing, stand on that temple mount, be like, "Where you at now?" >> While I'm sure that felt good to say, none of that is true. That is just a pile of misunderstandings and misinformation. It's lies. And this is an issue that I have with Josh's content creation because all I see from him is right-wing authoritarian identity politics and misinformation that is intended to juice evangelical anticipation of the second coming and make them feel better about endorsing right-wing authoritarianism and fascism. And what bothers me the most is I don't think Josh cares that this video is just a bunch of lies piled up on top of each other because it seems to me that his priority is not sharing truth. Certainly not thinking critically. It seems to me his priority is just curating a brand. And so I think he's fine with this video being full of lies. I don't think he's going to care. I certainly don't think he's going to take it down and publish an apology and a correction, but I would love to be proven wrong. Now, I don't know if Josh will ever see this video. He's already blocked me on Instagram. And if he does, I assume that he's just going to ignore it, but I would like Josh to prove that he is a man of greater integrity than I think he is. I want you to prove me wrong, Josh. Show me that you're a bigger person than I think you are. And the fit for this video.
