you can use AItools to make research more effectiveand today I'm going to share with youthe Epic prompts that I have found thatyou can use to make it easy to analyzeyour data look for gaps in theliterature as well as kind of synthesizeyour thoughts and ideas around certaintopics and Fields here we go this is howwe start so to set up first of all whatyou need to do is get yourself the edgebrowser I know I know it's noteveryone's favorite thing but it's got Bing automatically kind of included inthe top here so all you have to do isopen upum the edge browser and then click onBing at the top and then what you've gotis this chat area and this is where youcan ask the AI anything about anythingthat's in the window the reason this isgreat is because in the past I've beencopying and pasting text from uh likepapers into chat GPT and that justdoesn't work when you've got a load of information text information sometimesyou reach the limit as to how much taxyou can paste in here those limits arecompletely removed as far as I can tellso we go in here and you can see hereI've got different types of papers sohere I've got a review article and thenI've got one of my papers and then I'vegot my thesis as well so here we'regoing to look at how you can actuallyuse all these different prompts forfinding out things about a field a paper a thesis that would take you hours tosynthesize on your own so here are allof the different prompts that I havefound are particularly powerful in thischat area so we've got summarizing andAnalysis potential research questionsand gaps and methodology and techniquesso we'll be going through each of thoseand I'll share those down in the chatbelow if you want to use them yourselfbut importantly to get this up andrunning you have to first of all givechat access to whatever's in this window the way you do that is you go up tothese dots up here and you go onnotification app security and you makesure that page context is open if that'snot open the chat bot cannot read what'sactually in the window I've tried itokay so here we go over there perfectwe're all good so let's go back to theum the different papers and so let'sjust start asking it questions let's askabout summarizing the stuff so I'm going to take one of these identify the keyfindings and implications of Thisresearch paper and what it will go awayis actually just start looking throughthe HTML documents and looking for thekey findings and implications and Ithink that this is just a fantastic wayto query research find out new thingsand save you hours and hours of work soas you can see here it's coming up withdifferent types ofbullet pointed things that you need to know about this paper and I think thisis fantastic and you can query and go asdeep as you want with these prompts butthese are great starting prompts if youneed to just find out what something isabout immediately one thing I love aboutthis is it's not just uh using HTML froma web page it can also use PDF documentsnow these PDF documents are ones thatI've got from my computer I've got oneof my papers and I've also got my thesis from2010 isn't that a long time ago we I canuse exactly the same prompts on thesethings so if I take anotherum prompt from my summarizing andAnalysis uh prompts I want to know thestrengths and weaknesses of thismethodology let's see what it says aboutmy research paper so analyze thestrengths and weaknesses of thismethodology boom let let's see what it saysnow I gotta say that is pretty good sowe've got the strengths which is youknow why I got the paper uh published inthe first place which is great but theweakness is I think are a great place tostart if you're looking at building ontop of someone else's research so thematerials uh the process involvesmultiple steps and materials so it'svery complex to produce I agree and thenperformance of the result in planar electrode may depend on the quality andconsistency of the materials used Icompletely agree on that as well sothere we are now we've got two avenuesthat we could take this paper and sousing these prompts we've just sort oflike really shortcut any of the hardlifting we need to do now obviously youneed to go back in and have a look tosee if that makes sense for this paperbut it really really works now let'slook at how you can actually use promptsto look at research questions and gaps all right let's start with my thesis soI'm going to ask it to give me anypotential research questions based onthis thesis so let's say list potentialresearch questions related to thisthesis to extend the work and let's justsee what it says and because it's gotaccess to all 256 Pages we're going tostart seeing it pump out someinformationoh I'm sorry I don't have information about the thesis you're referring to whydon't you have access you had accessearlier when I was asking you let's gocheck in here Ah that's because I text Iturned off page contacts that I told youto do in the beginning so turn that backon let's get rid of this and let's askit againI'm an idiot all right it's kicking outsome pretty interesting extendedresearch questions efficiency improvewell that's what we're all trying to dolong-term stability that's great my thesis didn't actually look at that howdo different fabrication methods andmaterials affect the performance cannanoparticle-based organic divorces bescaled up to commercial production andhow do environmental factors such astemperature and humidity affect theperformance all of these are reallygreat extension questions that I knowthe research group I worked on areworking towards right now so fantasticuse of Bing's integrated AI chat I think that there's a really great way to usechat on papers and that's to extractrecipes for what you need to do if youwant to reproduce someone's work orextend on it so let's head over to mypaper let's clear this and let's justask let's ask it to createa recipefor the process used in this paper andlet's see what happens it's pretty crazy that it even sayswhere to purchase like the the uh silvernanowires from and the single Wardcarbon nanotubes so it is producing arecipe for me to follow and uh it'sdoing it perfectly so I could use thisto not only then sort of like start myresearch process but also then to seewhat really doesn't work and try to findthe gaps in the research based on the reproducibility of someone else's workit really is doing a fantastic job thisis a really complicated table withmultiple steps and it's still going andkicking it out so overall I really feellike this is the way of the future forum asking questions about papersunfortunately it's in everyone's leastfavorite browser arguably Microsoft Edgebut if this gets put into other browsersI think will be in a whole new world of productivity for researchers whendealing with the literature with Theseswith massive documents that uh it justmakes it so much easier incredible sothere we have it that's how you can useawesome Epic prompts on Researcharticles on review articles on thesis onanything that you want to know about inthe edge browser with Bing chat it isreally really powerful and it beats copying and pasting all of that textinto the chat GPT box because sometimesyou run out of space and it doesn'tprocess it this is a way of analyzingmassive documents and I really feel likeit's a huge game changer let me know inthe comments what you would add and ifthere's any other tricks that you knowabout and there's more way Jews canengage with me the first way is to signup to my newsletter and when
