## 📝 Summary:
The WP Minute reviews **GoDaddy’s Airo Site Designer**, an AI-assisted tool that scaffolds a **WordPress site in minutes**. The reviewer enters brief project details into a chat, Airo asks clarifying questions, generates a **preview**, and—after user tweaks—**builds a site in ~90 seconds**. Notably, Airo sticks to **core WordPress**: it uses the default **Twenty Twenty-Four** theme, **block patterns**, and only **four plugins** (GoDaddy’s CoBlocks suite for forms and block extensions, **Akismet** for spam, **Yoast SEO**, and **TrustedSite**). The resulting site is **clean, performant, and accessible**, aiming to **streamline onboarding** for DIY users and small businesses without layering on proprietary bloat. The tool favors **quality foundations over flash**, letting users edit content in WordPress and add plugins at will.
---
## 📖 Main Content:
The review positions Airo as a **pragmatic AI starter** for WordPress: it accelerates setup while **respecting ecosystem conventions** (core theme, blocks, minimal plugins). The UI enables quick **palette/typography/header/footer** changes and auto-inserts **relevant stock images and CTAs**. While the initial color request wasn’t perfect, the **Customizer-like panel** let the reviewer correct it immediately. The **surprise** is intentional restraint—no theme lock-in, no extra effects—just a **solid baseline** that’s easy to maintain and extend.
From an educator and OSS advocate standpoint, Airo showcases a **standards-first, low-debt** approach that can **lower barriers** for new site owners and future contributors. By leaning on block patterns and a core theme, Airo outputs are **portable**, **auditable**, and **compatible** with existing WordPress learning resources and best practices.

- Summary: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing within the WordPress ecosystem. We’re seeing various implementations for generating content, performing tasks, and providing front-facing customer support.
The technology is also being leveraged to create websites from scratch. The idea is simple enough: tell AI what kind of website you want, and the app generates one for you. The hope is that AI can solve common pain points when getting started with WordPress. However, increased efficiency can benefit new and experienced users.
GoDaddy’s Airo is a new entrant in the website generation space. It enables customers to create a personalized WordPress website within a few minutes.
The company invited us to take Airo for a spin and get a feel for how the app works. Let’s dig in and see the pros and cons of building a WordPress website with AI.

GoDaddy is a pillar sponsor of the WP Minute. However, the WP Minute retains editorial control over the content of this review. The following is our unbiased opinion of GoDaddyy's Arrow Site Designer. Hi everyone, I'm Eric Caravac from the WP Minute. I had a chance to test drive Godaddyy's new Arrow site designer app. It's an AI tool that promises to generate a custom WordPress website within minutes. The setup process was simple. I entered
a few details about my website project into the AI chat panel. Arrow asked a few follow-up questions. Once that was out of the way, the app proceeded to build a preview of the website. Arrow didn't get everything right the first time. For example, I requested a purple and pink color scheme, but that wasn't shown in the preview. However, I was able to choose a different color scheme within the previews customize panel. It's also possible to add a logo and custom images. You can also change
the site's typography and header/footer layouts. On the plus side, Arrow recognized my subject matter and added content and stock images to match. I navigated to each page and found it was on target. Each page included a call to action button as well. Once I was satisfied with the preview, Arrow built the website within 90 seconds. I was then redirected to the WordPress dashboard for closer inspection.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Arrow uses the default 2024 WordPress theme. There are no fancy special effects or extra bloat. Arrow uses a selection of block patterns to build the site's pages. It's all compatible with the WordPress block and site editors. Even more surprising, there were only four plugins installed. GoDaddyy's codblock suite is used to add a working contact form and expand the block editor's capabilities.
A kismmet is there to block spam while Yoast SEO handles search engine optimization. Trusted site is installed to help users attain various trustbased certifications. Overall, the website was clean and simple. Initial testing showed the site to be performant and accessible. It's a solid starting point for DIY users or small business owners hoping to build a website without fuss. The content and images can be easily edited within WordPress, and new plugins can be
added at any time. Plus, you can take all the time you need to edit your website before launching. Arrow makes a strong first impression. The app doesn't try to do too much or wow users with fancy features. Instead, it focuses on improving the WordPress onboarding experience and producing a quality result. That's a refreshing approach.
