First Look: Easy MCP AI ![rw-book-cover](https://d34adp677peecb.cloudfront.net/static/images/article4.6bc1851654a0.png) 🔗 **Source:** [First Look: Easy MCP AI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6LOIINMY8E) [00:00:00] As crazy as it sounds, AI and WordPress is heating up. There's a lot of stuff happening with AI for different plugins, different vendors, themes, plugins, services, a lot of competition in the space, and we have a new entrant, EasyMCP AI. And we're going to take a look at EasymcP AI today from a broad level. Uh we're going to look at some of its use cases and we're going to punch into one specific thing that you see right here on the homepage. Zero hosted relays. Before we continue, this is a sponsored video from Easy MCP AI. Uh but all the thoughts and presentation are my own. Let's continue to dive in. So you can get the plugin for free at [00:00:43] easymcpai. We're going to download the plugin. And I'm going to do this as like a first take. I haven't used the plugin yet. going to install it, going to configure it. We're going to see how easy it is to get this off the ground. Before we do, let's talk about this hosted relay section. Uh right here on the homepage, we see 10,000 active installs, 280 total MCP tools, five out of five on WordPress.org rating, but zero hosted relays. And what they're trying to emphasize here is that they're not collecting or gathering any data through a typical relay. That is when you ask your agent to do something via MCP for [00:01:26] your WordPress website like install this plugin, modify the homepage, it's not tracking that. Uh it's not tracking it through a relay. I can't attest for anything else that's happening on uh tool calling, but everything is supposed to be local to your WordPress website. So, zerohosted relays is something that maybe more people will be uh will pay attention to uh in the future like how much information and what is that data policy look like with the MCP service that you're using. At the end of the day, I think a lot of people are going to be a lot of product companies in and WordPress and hosting companies will be competing at that MCP level. How do I uh add my plugin? How do I add [00:02:09] add-ons to my plugin? And then how is that plugin recommending other ecosystem plugins in um that particular vendor's ecosystem? You know, MCP is a place where I think a lot of product companies are going to be heading, especially if they have, you know, a lot of integrations and they just want to make it easier for people to agentically configure their uh their stuff. So, if you haven't jumped into the MCP game and this is your first time looking at MCP for WordPress, maybe you give EasyMCP AI a try. Okay, we're going to install the plugin. It is available for free on WordPress.org. We can see it here. Five stars, 11 reviews. So certainly five out of five was was definitely achievable. Let's go ahead and install this. I'm [00:02:52] going to install this on a live site which doesn't get used very often. And I haven't updated this thing in a long time. I think there's some dates that are wrong. There's obviously some plugins that are disabled or that need to be updated. And we're going to try to do that with EasyMCP. So let's go ahead and add plugin. Easymc AI. Again, this is like a first take for me. First look, first take, first trial of using EasyMCP. I don't know what is about to happen. So, let's go ahead and activate this. It says I can connect to Cloud Code. Opens Cloud AI with the server prefilled. Confirm signin approves. Done. No token needed. ChatgPT or cursor. One click. Very nice here to [00:03:35] do that. More ways to connect. Terminal command. So, I can copy command and add that here. Same thing with codeex and open code using a different agent or client. Paste this into chat. Copy my prompt. I did a video on automatic space fast. Just as an aside and one of the things that I appreciated with space fast is exactly what they're doing here uh with easym is I just got all these copy commands. Right? In a world where like there's so much competition in the AI space, you can't just hope that your customer, your end user in me in my case is using one of these. In fact, I'm using all of these. [laughter] I'm using all of these services these days. Uh but be able to copy and paste this stuff or [00:04:19] one click uh is a thumbs up for me. So, let's go ahead and run this in the terminal and we will um activate it. All right, I got my terminal up. Let's go ahead and copy command into cloud code. Hopefully I don't run out of tokens today cuz I was burning a lot this afternoon. So, let's go ahead and add this. As uh things go with AI, sometimes these setups and just waiting for AI to complete takes a little bit. So, I'll cut that if uh if I need to. But we can see here one command uh it added the WordPress MCP server connected up to my site, but it isn't usable yet. Its status is needs authentication. It's saved in your local config, so it only applies to this project. to connect to it MCP in the session. Select WordPress. [00:05:02] Choose authenticate and open the plugins login flow from the browser. So, I'm going to just go ahead and click on verify connection. Let's just see what happens. Waiting for your AI to say hello. Finish the connection in your AI tool. Approve the access screen and sign into your terminal. The page updates by itself. So, let's go ahead and try that. Let's say MCP. We'll go to WordPress. I don't see WordPress. Let's go ahead and exit and then come back in. And now we'll say MCP. We'll select WordPress [00:05:47] needs authentication. So we are going to authenticate and we will do full access. two everything is connection connected in the terminal I see authentication successful I see authentication successful right here in the browser let's go back here and it says still waiting but let me go ahead and refresh this page here you can actually you know speaking about not having the relay uh you can opt in to contribute anonymous telemetry data which I think a lot of people are going to probably say no to that. But uh here are all the different prompts that you can copy to get things [00:06:30] going. Let's go to the dashboard and just see what this looks like. We have 117 registered tools. Let's talk about that in a moment. Connect uh another client. We have Claude code connected this week. It says connect an AI client tools informations and diagnostics. Let's take a look at this diagnostics. Everything seems to pass except for this authorization header. And um yeah, this is a pretty cool uh interface. We just manage connections just to see if it shows cloud code WordPress uh local host status is active. So it does look like it did get access to it. Let's just see how many posts in my WordPress site. Let's just see if it knows. It's calling [00:07:14] WordPress. Let's just see how many posts we have, which is probably one. [laughter] None. Uh there are zero. Yes, you are correct. Your WordPress site has zero posts. It's non-published, drafted, scheduled, private, or in the trash. Uh, there is one autodraft, but it's it isn't a real post. I don't know where it pulls that from, but let's just query it again to see how many pages we might have. How many pages are available? And I misspelled that. I said, how man pages are available. Your site has nine pages, which publisher nine. So, we're connected. Let's just see if we can see how many plugins are in need of update. And we'll go to our plugins. Again, I [00:07:57] haven't updated this site in a while. Side project that I thought I was going to dive into in 2025, which I never was able to do. [laughter] Uh but uh we'll see if we can handle some of that stuff today. All seven can be installed directly. None needs manual download. So, really cool. Gives me that installed and available. Uh you can see here that it's been a while since I've updated a lot of these things. So let's just say um can you run through and update all of the plugins? Now speaking of tools uh and tool calling, we have a 127 that were available. 117 117. This is nice. Success rate 24 hours. 100% tool calls in the last 24 hours. Three. We'll look at their tool page on the website in a [00:08:40] moment. Let's just see how many Let's just see if the tool is available out of the box for me to update plugins. Uh this is something that you could consider a destructive action like if you were to update plugins that you didn't want to update or delete, modify, install, etc. Um so let's go see what we can do. Can you run through and update all of the plugins? And while that's Oh, let's just see. I didn't uh update anything. The WordPress connection gives me no tool for installing plug-in updates. That's what I thought. The update check tool refers to the WP update plug-in tool, but this is session doesn't have it. And search of the WordPress tools didn't find it. It has has probably been turned off in the easymi tool settings. All right. So, [00:09:23] let's see if we can turn that on. Uh, this is really nice. We have this recent activity here, which is showing the recent activity. If you didn't realize, uh, that's what that was. But if you have a lot of people working on a site, uh, which is an interesting, I don't want to say dilemma, but interesting how agencies now might be handling MCP connections up to client servers. How are how is your staff, you know, managing MCP connections? Uh, what can they do on clients sites? What can't they do on client sites? What's that policy look like? Um, [snorts] so pretty cool. Nice, clean, easy activity log, which is nice. All right, let's take a look at these tools and let's just search for uh WP update [00:10:08] plugin. So say WP\_update plugin uh is a disabled tool call. So let's just see if we can enable it. I don't know how to enable. We can read, write, but it is disabled. Can I see if I do that? So, we'll go to the dashboard here and go to tools and information. 117 tools available. We knew that some tools are hidden. Uh, some installed tools are turned off. Reenable them in tools. Let's go back to tools. Why can I not? Uh, the WordPress tools sites gets the destructive ones can be disabled for every client under settings advanced. Okay, so we go settings advanced. Let's go and turn on [00:10:52] the plug-in updates. WP update plugin is now unchecked. and a lot of other interesting advanced settings here uh which you can play with if you install the plugin. Let's save the changes. Let's go back to view all all things. We can see that we tried to run that again. All right, so say try again. All right, it's telling me I have to uh recall this. I might have to restart the session one more time. All right, we can see that uh after reauthenticating, after enabling the tool, we can start to update our plugins. Again, caution on any kind of destructive setting. I'm not [00:11:35] advising it. It's just uh I will cowboy code the site cuz it's my site. It's not doesn't have a lot of severity to me right now. So, it's going through the updates. It's doing Gravity Forms right now, followed by the kit add-on. and it's, you know, complete. It says I couldn't check any PHP errors caused by the updates because the site doesn't keep an error log. If you want that in the future, turn on WP log in the config. That's a server side thing. And it's reminding me, hey, because of a big jump for some of these plugins, which certainly I think I'm okay on the Gravity Forms side because it's just simple contact forms. Uh, and I happen to work for that company. So, I kind of know that there shouldn't be anything that that breaks from from the jump that I did. Um, but Ali Pro might have an issue. it might need to be reauthenticated with their own license [00:12:17] server. But let's go ahead and refresh. And we can see here all of the tool calling that it did when it was modifying it. And this is pretty cool, too, cuz we're seeing some changes in that tool call and what happened uh during that, which is, you know, really good to see. We can also see that obviously my updates notifications are gone. Let's go to the front of the site, front end right here. And everything works. very simple page. Obviously, this is just a landing page, but we can see we have a project that I started back in 2024, which I said was going to launch in 2025. And um you know, we're in the tail end of 2026. So, maybe we should update some of these, and that'll be the next test to see if this MCP can handle that. [00:13:02] Oops, I didn't want to go there. So, let's go ahead and run those commands right now. So, we're going to say update the 2024 in the footer of the website to 2026. Let's just see how well that tool calling works. While that cooks, as the kids say and as AI says, let's just jump over to look at the total core tools that they have. Uh, it says 130 core WordPress MCP tools. And you can kind of go through all of these if you're wondering. a lot of destructive ones on this on this on this screen for sure. Um, if you're wondering about all the tool calls that they have, uh, you can go and search through that. So, that's [00:13:43] really cool. And, um, go back to features, it says 280 AI ready WordPress tools. And if we go back, we're seeing 130. So, the team might need to update that. Let's just take a look. I haven't changed the footer yet. The WordPress connection is missing the tool that edits templates. The 2024 master WP line uh, is in the footer template part of your all theme. So, it knows all that. that sees all that. It's the same situation as the plug-in updates. Enable WP update template. So again, destructive stuff is going to be off by default. Let's go ahead and turn that on so we can make these so we can make these edits. So let's go master WP dashboard easymcp settings. [00:14:27] And this one is called WP update templates. WP update templates. Uncheck that. And now I will reauthenticate again. All right, I've reauth go for it because that's the kind of prompts that I like to put in. Let's just see if it will recognize that context and go ahead and modify my footer. And it actually already called to attention the sub headline that I have, which is professional WordPress training for teams coming in 2025. That I'm gonna have to put 2027. Uh, but it did call it out and say 2025 [00:15:11] is there. Uh, about that was going to be the next modification that I uh that I was going to make as a sample here. So, uh, let's just see what it says. Your footer now reads 2026 masterwp. I read the footer. I read the footer back after saving and the year was the only thing that has changed. And let's just go ahead and view that. There it is. 2026. And then here's the sub headline right here. It says, "Master WP is launching in 2025. Change that 2025. Should I say 2028?" Let's go 2027. Maybe I'll do it next year. Change that 2025 to 2027. Now, there's a whole bunch of other things that we could test. Uh, of course in this, like if what we've experimented [00:15:53] with is a literal first look, uh, without me reading the manual, uh, just installing the plugin and getting it up and running, I didn't have any real issues. It's pretty straightforward, pretty easy, and I like the interface that I'm looking at. And then tool calling, we just have to understand that the destructive stuff is going to be off off by default, which totally makes sense. Obviously, we want to be careful before you do destructive stuff to your WordPress website. But, uh, once they're enabled, you can modify. You can update plugins. I didn't demo any installing plugins, but if I'm updating them, I can certainly install them. And then modifying text uh on the site. Again, very simple site. So, if you wanted to start making blog posts and planning stuff uh with uh content calendar and [00:16:38] making edits to a site, you'll be able to do that with Easy MCP AI. So, it says done the footer tagline. Oh, the footer taglines. I see I didn't change the context. I just said change that 2025 to 27. Um, the footer tagline now reads professional WordPress training for teams coming in 2027. So, let me go ahead and refresh that. Oh, there's another one right there. Okay. And so let's test this out. On the homepage, there's a block that says, "Can Whoops. Can you update that to 2027?" [00:17:23] Now, sometimes I talk to AI. I use fluid voice for that. Uh, but I'm not using it right now. I'm just being lazy and clumsy and just typing. So, let's just see if it can modify that block. Now, now the template parts it didn't have an issue with, but let's just see what it can do. A search for 2025 found on the other page that still has it. Thanks for signing up. The homepage now says, "All right, so let's go ahead and refresh this." Boom. There it says 2027. So, there you go. Tool calling and um an accidental tool call to change something that I didn't know [laughter] was there. And I wasn't just reading probably because I'm half paying attention while I'm recording this stuff. So, very cool. Easy MCP. It was uh easy to set up. Let me know what you think in the comments. Free plug-in as [00:18:06] of this recording. Uh let me know what you think. Thumbs up if you like the video. Subscribe to the channel if you want more. There'll be another video for Easy MCP in the future. Uh they're telling me that there's a road map with some really cool things coming. Uh let's just see if I can find that on their site right here. Let's find the road map. Search for road map. There it is. Road map right here. We can go to road map. Uh what's happening now? human in the loop approvals. Undo for AI made changes. Progressive tool disclosure, uh, which is cool, and plug-in abilities on by default, which is what we just did. So maybe you'll see that by the time you try that. And then batch call tools, batch tool calls, and then what's up next? AI site design with custom content types, WordPress, [00:18:49] WooCommerce product gallery management, and easier connection on difficult hosts. And then later there's a whole other host of things. So really cool road map. Really nice to see that from a product company. Check it out. Easymci.com. It's the wpmin.com. Number one way to stay connected is the wpmin.com/subscribe.
