The 23rd edition of the Developer Nation global survey looked at active software developers from 163 countries, finding that Javascript is the most widely used programming language and Java has almost doubled in size over the past two years. It also found that 25% of developers are currently working on or learning about blockchain applications, and 73% of developers contribute to vendor-owned open source projects. Additionally, students aspire to gain expertise and solve problems, and professional game developers are almost equally distributed across different game studio types.
