Weekly Review ❧ December 12, 2025 ![rw-book-cover](https://img.youtube.com/vi/5H45t3T8tpQ/maxresdefault.jpg) Hey friends, here we are on Friday, not the 13th, Friday the 12th, and I wanted to watch the video I put out on Monday saying what my goals for the week were and then see how I did against those goals. Let's go. I'm a content creator, so my goal is to make content short, medium, long, so I want to do a short a day. I did a short for each day this week. Wins, duds, mids. Wins is more than a,000 views. Duds are less than 100. Mids are in between 100 and 1,000 views. I've got 21 videos, 12 wins, seven mids, two duds. So yesterday's and today's could go from mid to win and one looks like it will 792. The big thing I'm looking at is monthly audience which is showing 7.2 and that's engaged views. So people that actually watch the shorts feel good about shorts. >> Goal for the week publish a 5 or 10 minute video on syntax about something related to this Oasis license. >> Yeah, I was really glad to get that out the door. It was a lot of work. Monday I spent the rest of the day on Monday. Pretty much the whole day on Tuesday. I wrote a blog post, published it, I made a video. Long story short, good learning experience this week about working with the syntax team and the logistics of timing of publishing to the main channel and then also in terms of voice. Huge win in the mid and yeah and the work got picked up you know over a,000 views on the fizzy video which again for my channel is great. Made a pull request. Talked to David on the pull request. DHH good Twitter engagement ended up in Paul Sawyer's newsletter right alongside Matt Mullenweg and Dice Weart. So felt really good about that timeliness um win this week with fizzy. Makes me want to do more of it. Mediums short medium >> is Ukraine the long short medium long Thanksgiving. I just want to feel like I really logged good time this week on that project. >> I did log good time on Ukraine. Spent most of Wednesday and Thursday on it. Today I was out for coffee this morning with a friend Pete. Shout out Pete. Oldtime open source Python guy. Super connector. knows a lot of people. Um, so that was this morning. Snuck some bureaucracy around the edges. This week I had this idea to try and work with chat GPT and so I have like beat sheets like save the cat beat sheets. I ended up using chat GPT to help generate I think I got some good ideas out of it. I was using it in a way that was just trying to clarify my own thinking about what I'm trying to say in this episode. Yeah. And I did start getting back into the edit into the timeline and trying to figure out trying to figure out how to cut it. There's so much more to do, though. I want to do it. There's so much potential here. Oh, I also put the studio back together. Um, we had to take the studio apart to reinforce some of the wall up there. That got done. Next week, more shorts, a medium. I liked getting the medium out of the way at the beginning of the week, Monday, Tuesday. So, here' be the ideal would be to publish on Tuesdays on the main syntax channel. That would be dope. It worked pretty well, I think, to publish on blog and Twitter at the end of the day, schedule YouTube for the next morning. I think that's a good idea. And then I would have the whole rest of the week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday to focus on long form.
