## ๐ Main Content
Smart Sync is a new extension in Ollie Pro that solves a common WordPress design workflow problem: having to manually style each similar block in repetitive layouts like card grids, feature sections, and pricing tables. The traditional approach requires clicking into each block individually and repeating the same style changes, which is time-consuming and inefficient.
The extension works by automatically detecting similar blocks within a section and offering to synchronize style changes across all matching elements. When you modify one block's styling (font size, colors, spacing, etc.), Smart Sync displays a popup asking if you want to apply those changes to similar blocks. This transforms what used to be dozens of individual edits into single-click updates.
The feature includes manual controls, allowing users to enable or disable syncing on specific sections. It integrates seamlessly with WordPress's native interface and works across various block types including grids, columns, and other repetitive layout patterns.

[00:00] Hey, folks.
[00:01] Mike here from Ollie.
[00:02] And today I'm excited to
[00:03] introduce Smart Sync, a new
[00:05] extension in Ollie Pro that's
[00:07] going to save you a ton of time
[00:09] when working with repetitive
[00:10] layouts in the WordPress block
[00:11] editor.
[00:12] If you've ever built a page with
[00:14] a row of cards, a grid of
[00:15] features, or any kind of
[00:17] repeating layout, you know the
[00:19] pain.
[00:19] You style one block exactly how
you want it, and then you have
[00:22] to click into each similar block
one by one and repeat those same
[00:26] changes over and over.
[00:27] It's tedious, it's time
consuming, and honestly, it's
[00:30] just the kind of thing that
should be easier by now.
[00:32] That's exactly what Smart Sync
solves.
[00:35] Instead of styling each block
individually, you can now make
[00:38] your changes once and apply them
to all similar blocks instantly.
[00:42] Let's hop into WordPress and see
how it works.
[00:44] All right, so here we are in
[00:46] WordPress Block Editor, and we
[00:47] are looking at a pricing page
[00:49] layout.
[00:49] And I thought this would be a
great example because there are
[00:51] lots of columns and grids and
information stacks, which means
[00:55] there's a lot of repetitive
tasks that we're doing in
[00:57] designs like these.
[00:59] So normally if I wanted to
[01:00] change the font size in a grid
[01:01] like this, I'm going to come
[01:02] over here and change it right
[01:05] here.
[01:05] Same with this.
[01:07] And you know, if I'm changing
this button I'm going to make it
[01:09] a smaller font size.
[01:10] Now, I was able to do that
pretty quickly.
[01:12] Not not a huge deal, but look at
the rest of the grid items.
[01:16] They have the same design.
[01:17] So then I have to come in here.
[01:18] This is what a lot of people do.
[01:19] This is what I do as well.
[01:21] Um, and change it all manually.
[01:24] And, uh, there's a few ways
around this.
[01:26] You can copy and paste styles on
[01:28] some elements, and maybe you
[01:30] could use a synced pattern in
[01:31] some instances, but you're still
[01:33] just left with doing a ton of
[01:35] repetitive tasks.
[01:37] And so we decided to solve this
[01:38] with something called Smart
[01:39] Sync.
[01:40] So I'm going to flip over to
that same grid.
[01:42] And now watch what happens when
I change this font size.
[01:46] I get a pop up down here in the
corner.
[01:47] It says sync six similar blocks.
[01:50] And if I click the sync, you can
see it took that same style and
[01:53] applied it across the same text
items in the grid.
[01:56] Let's try it again.
[01:59] And you can see it took it
again, automatically styled all
[02:02] of those elements for me.
[02:03] Let's just go ahead and finish
[02:05] it off with the button size
[02:06] there.
[02:08] And it synced it.
[02:09] So what's happening is it's
determined that this whole
[02:11] section can be safely synced
together for our styles.
[02:14] And it's, um, if you click a
grid item, you can see there is
[02:17] a synced status on it.
[02:19] And if I go up to the the grid,
the overall grid level as well.
[02:22] You can see it's synced there.
[02:23] Now I can turn this off and I
[02:25] can go back to making my changes
[02:27] and it'll work like it did
[02:28] before.
[02:29] Um, or I can come in here and
[02:31] manually turn it on just by
[02:32] clicking this little icon in the
[02:34] toolbar.
[02:35] So now these items are synced
again and say I wanted to just
[02:38] really quickly get a dark mode
style going here.
[02:43] And I wanted to make this a
little punchier like that.
[02:48] Um, so you can see how quickly I
[02:50] was able to change all those
[02:51] styles.
[02:51] And this is really cool because
it's, uh, it's really nice to be
[02:54] able to quickly iterate on a
design kind of while you're
[02:57] working on it, and not have to
get lost in all these settings,
[03:01] panels and everything.
[03:02] And so I'm just doing the work
[03:03] once, and I can make changes on
[03:05] any of these grid items, by the
[03:07] way, and it will automatically
[03:09] do that.
[03:10] So again, it's like I'm not
having to hunt and kind of, uh,
[03:13] select certain elements.
[03:14] I'm just, uh, I'm just moving
and designing quickly.
[03:17] So same thing down here.
[03:18] This is not a grid, but it is a
repeated design.
[03:21] And so I can come in here and
change this font size.
[03:24] And it asks if I want to sync
it.
[03:26] I say yes and there we go.
[03:28] It's changed those styles there.
[03:30] Maybe I want this to be a little
bit bigger as well.
[03:34] We have a pricing table at the
top.
[03:36] Maybe we can work the styles
there a little bit.
[03:38] Asks if I want to sync it, I say
yes.
[03:41] Let's go ahead and maybe make
this a little more interesting.
[03:45] And we can change all the font
[03:47] sizes in here just by selecting
[03:49] the group.
[03:50] And let's make this a little
punchier.
[03:53] So as you can see, I just was
[03:55] super quickly able to make a ton
[03:57] of changes all at once with
[03:59] Smart Sync.
[04:00] And the really cool thing was
obviously this.
[04:02] This saved me a ton of time, but
[04:03] it was actually fun to design
[04:04] this way.
[04:05] It felt kind of magical to to be
[04:07] able to apply those changes so
[04:08] quickly and just move on to the
[04:10] next thing.
[04:11] So this is going to save people
a ton of time, and I cannot wait
[04:14] to see how you guys use it.
[04:16] So that's Smart Sync.
[04:18] A faster way to keep your
repetitive layouts consistent
[04:21] without the repetitive work.
[04:23] And just like all of our Pro
[04:24] extensions, it blends right into
[04:26] the native WordPress interface
[04:28] and feels like it's always been
[04:29] there.
[04:30] Head on over to OllieWP.com to
[04:32] get started with Alli Pro and
[04:34] unlock Smart Sync along with our
[04:36] full suite of powerful
[04:37] extensions.
[04:38] All right.
[04:38] Thanks for hanging out with me.
[04:39] I'll see you in the next one.
