## 📝 Summary
- Step-by-step tutorial for updating existing Elementor websites to version 4
- Requires enabling beta tester mode and activating the new experience
- Version 3 and 4 elements work together during transition period
- Not all version 3 widgets have version 4 equivalents yet
- Tutorial is part of a comprehensive Elementor v4 series
## 📖 Main Content
This tutorial demonstrates how to upgrade an existing Elementor website from version 3 to version 4. The process involves becoming a beta tester, updating the plugin, and activating the new atomic editor experience. A key feature is backward compatibility - version 3 and 4 elements can coexist on the same page during the transition. However, the atomic editor is still in development, with only 10 widgets currently available in version 4 compared to the full suite in version 3. Elementor is gradually converting all version 3 widgets to version 4 equivalents.

## 🗣️ Paraphrase
- Elementor version 4 requires manual activation through beta tester program and specific settings configuration
- The atomic editor introduces new flexbox-based elements while maintaining compatibility with existing version 3 components
- Widget migration from version 3 to 4 is ongoing, with only essential elements currently available in the new system
## 📰 Newsletter
Elementor's version 4 atomic editor is now available for beta testing! This major update introduces a new flexbox-based editing experience while maintaining backward compatibility with existing sites. The transition process is straightforward but requires enabling beta features and manually activating the new experience.
Key benefits include improved layout control and modern CSS workflows. However, be aware that only 10 widgets are currently available in version 4, with more being migrated from version 3 over time. The good news is both versions work seamlessly together during the transition.
For WordPress developers and designers, this represents a significant evolution in page building capabilities, bringing Elementor closer to modern web development practices.

## Full Transcript
[00:00] Hello people, my name is Ferdy and in the last
video, I showed you how to install the Elementor <br>[00:04] Atomic Editor version 4 from scratch. In this
video, I will show you how to update your current <br>[00:09] Elementor website to version 4. So let's get right
on. How can you do that? I go to the backend. I <br>[00:17] already have a website made with Elementor, with
containers and the elements, nothing with version <br>[00:21] 4. So in order to update it, I go to Elementor,
I go to the editor and I go to tools. Then I <br>[00:30] go to version control, Let me close this and I
scroll down and over here, I can become a beta <br>[00:36] tester in order to update. I need to turn that on.
I enable this. I save the changes. If you want to, <br>[00:43] you can sign up. So you get information when there
are new beta versions out or new versions. Now, <br>[00:48] what I need to do, I need to go to the dashboard
to updates, and then I see there is a new update. <br>[00:56] So I select it. I click on update plugins. If you
don't see anything, sometimes you need to click <br>[01:02] on check again. Let me show you in a minute where
you can see that. Okay. If I go to updates, you <br>[01:09] can click on check again. And I don't know why,
maybe this is a cache thing. If I go to plugins, <br>[01:16] um, I already have 3 .35 beta two, but I also
get updated to the same version. You know, <br>[01:21] that's something that can happen. I click on
update now. Awesome. Now I go to Elementor, <br>[01:28] editor, settings. Then I go to the last step,
version four, and I need to activate it. You need <br>[01:35] to read this and activate the new experience, read
this. And if you read it and you understood it, <br>[01:41] then you can click on select, activate. There
it is. You can deactivate it later. So now if <br>[01:50] I go to the homepage, I already created a page
with version three. So if you click on edit with <br>[01:55] Elementor, everything you see on my screen here
at this moment, that is made with version 3 of <br>[02:05] Elementor. But now, if I click on the plus,
look at this, I have the atomic elements, <br>[02:10] flexbox, the heading. So how does it work? I also
said it in the last video. Here at the right, <br>[02:17] when you see this icon, it is made with version
4. They are continuously working on version 4 <br>[02:23] and making it better and better. But for every
single Elementor is in version 3, heading, image, <br>[02:29] text editor, video, they need to make a version
4 version. So over here, I see heading and image, <br>[02:37] but I also have that over here with the atomic
habits, a header, heading and an image. So <br>[02:42] right now we see 10 widgets elements. There are
more from version 3. So step by step, they will <br>[02:49] integrate more widgets that are now only available
in version 3 towards version 4. The great thing <br>[02:55] is if I have a div block over here and I click on
the plus, and I add a heading all from version 4, <br>[03:03] I can click on the plus and I also can go to
version 3 and add a button. So they can work <br>[03:08] simultaneously, they work together, you can work
version 3 and version 4 together and I will do my <br>[03:14] best to make use of version 4 as much as possible.
So I will close this and in the next video, <br>[03:20] I will show you how to set up your workflow,
make a framework that can help you to work <br>[03:26] really efficiently in the atomic editor, also
known as Elementor version 4. So I hope to see <br>[03:31] you in the next video. This is a series, so if
you want to subscribe, you can see every new <br>[03:35] video that's coming up and you can click over here
to go to the whole playlist and I will do my best <br>[03:40] to fill it with amazing content about Elementor
version 4 because I can tell you, it is amazing.
