While the update might sound minor, it fundamentally changes how developers can work with AI-generated WordPress blocks. Telex allows users to describe WordPress blocks in natural language and generates the complete code automatically. The new persistence feature means that once you install plugins, themes, or add content to test your blocks, that environment is saved across sessions. This creates what the presenter calls a "personalized development studio" - an environment where you can iteratively refine blocks with AI assistance while maintaining your specific setup. The demonstration shows creating a WooCommerce product carousel by simply describing the desired functionality, then installing WooCommerce and sample data to test and refine the block. The tool addresses a common pain point in block development: the need to repeatedly set up testing environments. With persistence, developers can build a library of testing scenarios and continue development work seamlessly. ## ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Notes #### โฑ๏ธ [00:00](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=0) โ€” [H1] Telex receives major persistence update - Key idea: Small update with profound implications for WordPress block development - Evidence: "A small but very, very big update was rolled out to Automatics Telex" #### โฑ๏ธ [00:30](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=30) โ€” [H2] Building WooCommerce carousel demonstration - Key idea: Natural language prompts generate complete functional blocks - Evidence: "I want a carousel block to display my WooCommerce products" #### โฑ๏ธ [01:15](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=75) โ€” [H3] Installing WooCommerce for block testing - Key idea: Block requires WooCommerce plugin to function properly - Evidence: "I don't have WooCommerce installed at this point" #### โฑ๏ธ [01:45](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=105) โ€” [H2] Adding sample content for development - Key idea: WooCommerce provides dummy content for testing purposes - Evidence: "WooCommerce actually comes with some dummy content" #### โฑ๏ธ [02:15](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=135) โ€” [H1] Block appears with real data - Key idea: Integration allows immediate visual feedback with actual content - Evidence: "Here we can see the actual carousel block" #### โฑ๏ธ [02:30](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=150) โ€” [H2] AI-integrated development studio concept - Key idea: Environment combines AI generation with traditional development tools - Evidence: "I've got my own little development studio tightly integrated to AI" #### โฑ๏ธ [02:45](https://youtu.be/RJ4ywX9Cje8?t=165) โ€” [H1] Persistence feature explanation - Key idea: System remembers all installations and customizations across sessions - Evidence: "It'll remember that I've installed WooCommerce. Telex.
[00:04] Telex is an online Tool
[00:06] that lets you create WordPress blocks
[00:07] Just by talking to ai.
[00:09] And the update's gonna make it much easier for you
[00:11] to create amazing looking WordPress blocks
[00:13] and take your block build into the next level.
[00:15] So today I'm gonna show you how I built a
[00:17] beautiful carousel block with
[00:18] It. And as I show
[00:19] you the demonstration, see if you can
[00:21] Work out what the update was.
[00:22] I will tell you at the end, though,
[00:24] but first, here's the carousel.
[00:26] Here's my carousel that I built.
[00:27] It's actually a WooCommerce carousel
[00:29] that lists my products that I choose.
[00:31] And this is how I built it.
[00:32] So I went to the Telex website
[00:34] and I just put into the prompt, I want a carousel block
[00:37] to display my WooCommerce products.
[00:39] And then I just click build.
[00:40] And then Telex does its thing, it goes off
[00:43] and writes all the code for you.
[00:44] Now, I speeded this up a little bit.
[00:46] It took a bit of time, but not too long.
[00:48] Now after that, once it actually built the block for me,
[00:51] the next step is I jump into my WordPress dashboard
[00:55] because I don't have WooCommerce installed at this point.
[00:58] So here I'm actually gonna go off and add WooCommerce
[01:00] because I need the WooCommerce plugin, the base plugin,
[01:03] to actually be able to use the block.
[01:04] And here you can see me just going
[01:06] through the normal WooCommerce setup.
[01:08] I'm skipping a few steps that I don't need.
[01:10] And then what I'm gonna do here is actually
[01:12] add some sample content.
[01:13] WooCommerce actually comes with some dummy content,
[01:16] which I've downloaded.
[01:17] And I'm just gonna re-upload this to my telex site.
[01:20] Click continue. And now I've got WooCommerce installed
[01:23] and I've got some sample content.
[01:25] So when I go back and start editing my block within
[01:27] telex, I should be able to see something.
[01:29] And here we go. Here we can see the actual carousel block.
[01:32] And now essentially I've got my own little development
[01:35] studio tightly integrated to AI
[01:37] because I've got WooCommerce installed sample data,
[01:40] and now I can just finesse things and re-prompt
[01:42] and make it exactly what I want.
[01:44] And what's incredibly powerful is that when I go back
[01:47] and reopen my project,
[01:48] these are all the projects that I've built with telex.
[01:50] I'm slightly obsessed. It'll actually remember everything.
[01:53] It'll remember that I've installed Woo Commerce.
[01:55] It'll remember my sample data.
[01:57] So it really is like building your own
[01:58] little development studio.
[02:00] So the small but big update to telex is persistence.
[02:04] Doesn't sound very exciting, but it's really
[02:06] Profound. What it means in
[02:07] practice
[02:07] Is you can install any plugins you like,
[02:10] Any themes you like.
[02:11] So essentially you are setting up your
[02:12] own little development studio
[02:14] That's fully integrated into ai.
[02:17] If you want to take it for a spin yourselves, go
[02:19] To Telex.automatic.ai
[02:21] and you can start building WordPress blocks completely
[02:23] for free, just using ai.
[02:25] Also, if you like this video,
[02:26] if you can hit the like button, it'd
[02:27] Be fantastic. 'cause it does help spread
[02:28] the word. It
[02:29] Really, really does. And if
[02:30] you want to see more content like this, hit
[02:32] that subscribe button and you'll be notified when we release
[02:35] new exciting WordPress content.
[02:37] Thank you again for watching. Cute.
[02:38] Well, and I'll see you soon. Bye for now. ## ๐Ÿ“บ Video ![](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ4ywX9Cje8) --- # ๐Ÿ“ Full Notes (Deep-Read Analysis) # ๐Ÿท๏ธ Title: Something small but BIG just happened to WordPress AI ## ๐Ÿงฐ Action Inbox - [H1] Try building a carousel block with Telex โ€” free AI block builder #wordpress-ai - [H2] Install WooCommerce sample data for testing โ€” demo content available #development - [H3] Set up persistent development environment โ€” customize with plugins/themes #telex ## ๐Ÿงญ Table of Contents - [๐Ÿ“ Summary](#-summary) - [๐Ÿ“– Main Content](#-main-content) - [๐Ÿ—’๏ธ Notes](#๏ธ-notes) - [๐Ÿ“š References](#-references) - [๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Paraphrase](#๏ธ-paraphrase) - [๐Ÿ“ฐ Newsletter](#-newsletter) - [โœ… Action Items](#-action-items) - [๐Ÿงช Hypotheses](#-hypotheses) - [๐Ÿ“Š Methodology](#-methodology) - [โ“ Questions](#-questions) - [๐Ÿ”ฎ Future Research](#-future-research) - [๐Ÿ’ก Implications](#-implications) - [๐Ÿง Learning Styles Assessment](#-learning-styles-assessment) - [๐Ÿ“Š Accessibility Assessment](#-accessibility-assessment) - [๐ŸŒ DEIB Assessment](#-deib-assessment) - [โœ… Logical Validity](#-logical-validity) - [๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ DARVO Analysis](#-darvo-analysis) - [๐ŸŽฏ Conclusion](#-conclusion) ### ๐Ÿ”— References - [Telex AI Block Builder](https://telex.automattic.ai) - [WooCommerce Plugin](https://woocommerce.com) ## ๐Ÿ“ Summary - Automattic's Telex AI block builder received a "persistence" update that maintains plugins, themes, and data across sessions - The tool allows users to create WordPress blocks by describing them in natural language - Demo shows building a WooCommerce product carousel through AI prompts and refinement - The persistent environment creates a personalized development studio integrated with AI - Tool remains free to use at telex.automattic.ai ## ๐Ÿ“– Main Content Automattic has updated Telex, their AI-powered WordPress block creation tool, with a significant persistence feature. Telex is an online tool that lets you create WordPress blocks just by talking to AI. And the update is going to make it much easier for you to create amazing looking WordPress blocks and take your block building to the next level. So today I'm going to show you how I built a beautiful carousel block with it. And as I show you the demonstration, see if you can work out what the update was. I will tell you at the end though. But first, here's the carousel. Here's my carousel that I built. It's actually a WooCommerce carousel that lists my **[00:30]** products that I choose. And this is how I built it. So I went to the Telex website and I just put into the prompt, "I want a carousel block to display my WooCommerce products." And then I just click build. And then Telex does its thing. It goes off and writes all the code for you. Now I speeded this up a little bit. It took a bit of time, but not too long. Now after that, once it actually built the block for me, the next step is I jump into my WordPress dashboard because I don't have WooCommerce installed at this point. So here I'm actually going to go off and add WooCommerce because I need the **[01:01]** WooCommerce plugin, the base plugin, to actually be able to use the block. And here you can see me just going through the normal WooCommerce setup. I'm skipping a few steps that I don't need. And then what I'm going to do here is actually add some sample content. WooCommerce actually comes with some dummy content, which I've downloaded and I'm just going to re-upload this to my Telex site. Click continue. And now I've got WooCommerce installed and I've got some sample content. So when I go back and start editing my block within Telex, I should be able to see something in here. Here we go. Here we can see the actual carousel block. And now **[01:33]** essentially I've got my own little development studio tightly integrated to AI because I've got WooCommerce installed, sample data. And now I can just finesse things and re-prompt and make it exactly what I want. And what's incredibly powerful is that when I go back and reopen my project, these are all the projects that I built with Telex. I'm slightly obsessed. It'll actually remember everything. It'll remember that I've installed WooCommerce. It'll remember my sample data. So it really is like building your own little development studio. So the small but big update to Telex is persistence. Doesn't sound very **[02:05]** exciting, but it's really profound. What it means in practice is you can install any plugins you like, any themes you like. So essentially you're setting up your own little development studio that's fully integrated into AI. If you want to take it for a spin yourselves, go to telex.automattic.ai and you can start building WordPress blocks completely for free just using AI. Also, if you like this video, if you can hit the like button, it'd be fantastic cuz it does help spread the word. It really really does.
