## ๐ Summary
- Content creator reviews weekly goals against actual performance across short, medium, and long-form content
- Successfully achieved daily shorts goal with strong performance metrics (12 wins out of 21 videos)
- Completed medium-form video about Oasis license for Syntax channel with good engagement
- Made solid progress on Ukraine long-form project using ChatGPT for creative assistance

## ๐ Main Content
This weekly review demonstrates a systematic approach to content creation goal-setting and accountability. The creator tracks performance across three content formats: shorts (daily), medium (5-10 minute videos), and long-form projects.
The shorts strategy shows strong results with a clear metric system: wins (>1,000 views), mids (100-1,000 views), and duds (<100 views). Achieving 12 wins out of 21 videos represents a 57% success rate, well above typical YouTube performance benchmarks.
The medium-form content focused on timely topics like the Oasis license, demonstrating the value of quick response to industry developments. The collaboration with the Syntax team provided learning opportunities around timing and voice consistency for established channels.
Long-form work on the Ukraine project incorporated AI tools (ChatGPT) for creative development, specifically using "Save the Cat" beat sheets for narrative structure. This represents an evolving approach to documentary production workflows.

## Full Transcript
[00:00] Hey friends, here we are on Friday, not
[00:01] the 13th, Friday the 12th, and I wanted
[00:03] to watch the video I put out on Monday
[00:05] saying what my goals for the week were
[00:07] and then see how I did against those
[00:08] goals. Let's go. I'm a content creator,
[00:10] so my goal is to make content short,
[00:13] medium, long, so I want to do a short a
[00:15] day. I did a short for each day this
[00:17] week. Wins, duds, mids. Wins is more
[00:19] than a,000 views. Duds are less than
[00:22] 100. Mids are in between 100 and 1,000
[00:24] views. I've got 21 videos, 12 wins,
[00:27] seven mids, two duds. So yesterday's and
[00:30] today's could go from mid to win and one
[00:33] looks like it will 792. The big thing
[00:35] I'm looking at is monthly audience which
[00:38] is showing 7.2 and that's engaged views.
[00:40] So people that actually watch the shorts
[00:42] feel good about shorts.
[00:44] >> Goal for the week publish a 5 or 10
[00:45] minute video on syntax about something
[00:48] related to this Oasis license.
[00:49] >> Yeah, I was really glad to get that out
[00:51] the door. It was a lot of work. Monday I
[00:53] spent the rest of the day on Monday.
[00:54] Pretty much the whole day on Tuesday. I
[00:55] wrote a blog post, published it, I made
[00:56] a video. Long story short, good learning
[00:58] experience this week about working with
[01:00] the syntax team and the logistics of
[01:02] timing of publishing to the main channel
[01:04] and then also in terms of voice. Huge
[01:06] win in the mid and yeah and the work got
[01:09] picked up you know over a,000 views on
[01:12] the fizzy video which again for my
[01:14] channel is great. Made a pull request.
[01:16] Talked to David on the pull request. DHH
[01:18] good Twitter engagement ended up in Paul
[01:20] Sawyer's newsletter right alongside Matt
[01:23] Mullenweg and Dice Weart. So felt really
[01:26] good about that timeliness um win this
[01:30] week with fizzy. Makes me want to do
[01:32] more of it. Mediums short medium
[01:35] >> is Ukraine the long short medium long
[01:38] Thanksgiving. I just want to feel like I
[01:41] really logged good time this week on
[01:43] that project.
[01:43] >> I did log good time on Ukraine. Spent
[01:46] most of Wednesday and Thursday on it.
[01:48] Today I was out for coffee this morning
[01:49] with a friend Pete. Shout out Pete.
[01:51] Oldtime open source Python guy. Super
[01:54] connector. knows a lot of people. Um, so
[01:55] that was this morning. Snuck some
[01:57] bureaucracy around the edges. This week
[01:58] I had this
[02:00] idea to try and work with chat GPT and
[02:03] so I have like beat sheets like save the
[02:05] cat beat sheets. I ended up using chat
[02:07] GPT to help generate I think I got some
[02:11] good ideas out of it. I was using it in
[02:13] a way that was just trying to clarify my
[02:14] own thinking about what I'm trying to
[02:15] say in this episode. Yeah. And I did
[02:17] start getting back into the edit into
[02:19] the timeline and trying to figure out
[02:21] trying to figure out how to cut it.
[02:26] There's so much more to do, though. I
[02:29] want to do it. There's so much potential
[02:32] here.
[02:34] Oh, I also put the studio back together.
[02:37] Um, we had to take the studio apart to
[02:40] reinforce some of the wall up there.
[02:42] That got done. Next week, more shorts, a
[02:44] medium. I liked getting the medium out
[02:46] of the way at the beginning of the week,
[02:47] Monday, Tuesday. So, here' be the ideal
[02:49] would be to publish on Tuesdays on the
[02:51] main syntax channel. That would be dope.
[02:52] It worked pretty well, I think, to
[02:54] publish on blog and Twitter at the end
[02:56] of the day, schedule YouTube for the
[02:58] next morning. I think that's a good
[02:59] idea. And then I would have the whole
[03:01] rest of the week, Tuesday, Wednesday,
[03:02] Thursday, Friday to focus on long form.
[03:06] Oh man, if I could do that, that sounds
[03:09] amazing.
