[00:00] A big thank you to Omnisend for
[00:02] sponsoring today's video. Omnisend is a
[00:04] great email and SMS marketing platform
[00:06] for e-commerce brands. To see why it's
[00:08] trusted by 125,000 businesses, visit
[00:11] omnisend.com today.
[00:15] I've built a free app that lets you spin
[00:18] up WordPress websites in a matter of
[00:19] seconds. It's fantastic for beginners,
[00:21] developers, agencies, freelancers,
[00:24] content creators, and teachers, and many
[00:26] more. And today I'm going to show you
[00:28] exactly how it works. I'm going to start
[00:30] by giving my site a title. I'm going to
[00:32] call this new site portfolio. Then
[00:34] underneath I'm going to click add page.
[00:36] I'm going to call it home. And I'm
[00:37] actually going to put some block markup
[00:39] in there. This supports HTML and also
[00:41] block markup. And then I'm just going to
[00:43] go off and create a bunch of other
[00:44] pages. I'm not going to put any content
[00:46] into these. These are just so I can set
[00:48] the navigation. And you can see them all
[00:50] listed over on the right there. Then I'm
[00:52] going to set the homepage on my website
[00:55] uh by clicking set homepage and choosing
[00:57] that page called home that I've already
[00:58] created. Then I'm going to set my post
[01:00] page. I've created a page called blog
[01:02] which I'm going to set. Then I'm going
[01:04] to set my navigation menu. And we can do
[01:05] this out of the existing pages that I've
[01:08] already built. So I'm just clicking
[01:09] select a page and adding the pages I
[01:11] want and the order I want those to
[01:13] appear in top to bottom equals left to
[01:15] right here. Then once I've set the menu,
[01:18] I'm going to click install plug-in. And
[01:20] you can either download a URL or choose
[01:22] one on WordPress.org. I'm going to
[01:24] choose WordPress.org and install the
[01:26] view transitions plugin, which I love.
[01:28] It gives you that elegant transitions
[01:30] between pages. Then I'm going to install
[01:32] a theme. I've actually created a custom
[01:34] one, but you could download one from
[01:36] WordPress.org. And then finally, I'm
[01:38] going to set the landing page for my
[01:40] visitor. Once I'm happy, I click launch
[01:42] in the top right. And that's going to
[01:44] download WordPress to your browser,
[01:45] download plugins, download all the
[01:47] themes, set the homepage, install
[01:49] content, set the navigation, and within
[01:51] a few seconds, voila, I have a fully
[01:54] formed, beautiful looking website in an
[01:56] instant. It's incredible. If you want to
[01:58] make changes, you can edit everything
[01:59] and go back to the blueprint designer.
[02:02] But I'm going to save mine so I can
[02:03] reuse it. I'm going to click the save
[02:05] button in the top right. Give it a name.
[02:07] Give it a description. You can upload a
[02:08] screenshot if you want to. And you can
[02:10] also choose whether you want to share
[02:12] them to the community or just
[02:13] yourselves. And that blueprint is now
[02:15] saved in the gallery. So you can go back
[02:17] at any time and relaunch it. And here's
[02:19] the gallery. You can see it's got two
[02:21] tabs at the top. My blueprints and also
[02:23] community blueprints. If you click on
[02:25] community, you can see them all here. If
[02:27] you click on it, you can reedit it. And
[02:29] you can see all the blueprint steps over
[02:31] on the right hand side. If you click on
[02:33] the little rocket icon, you can actually
[02:35] launch it directly from the gallery
[02:37] here. and it will just relaunch that new
[02:39] blueprint. A WordPress playground
[02:41] blueprint is a simple configuration file
[02:43] that defines how a WordPress site should
[02:45] be set up inside WordPress playground.
[02:47] It can specify things like the WordPress
[02:49] version, themes, plugins, demo content,
[02:51] and initial settings, allowing anyone to
[02:53] spin up an identical WordPress
[02:55] environment instantly in the browser
[02:57] without hosting or installation. And my
[02:59] app essentially gives you a really
[03:01] simple way that you can create these
[03:02] quite complex JSON files in the
[03:03] background. It just adds a nice
[03:05] graphical user interface to output these
[03:07] complex files for you very very simply.
[03:10] So I think this could be really really
[03:12] useful for a whole bunch of different
[03:13] folks. Agencies or freelancers and
[03:15] developers can spin up Polish clients
[03:17] demos in seconds. Educators can give
[03:19] every student a ready to go training
[03:21] site with just one link. Content
[03:23] creators can write tutorials that drop
[03:25] rooters directly into a working site.
[03:28] Freelancers can create repeatable
[03:30] starter packs for common site types. and
[03:32] entrepreneurs could even sell fully
[03:34] designed blueprints as instant websites.
[03:37] One of the great things about blueprints
[03:38] is that they are fully transferable,
[03:40] which means you can export them and use
[03:42] them in different applications. In
[03:43] Poodle Playground, there's a simple
[03:45] export button. You can see I'm dragging
[03:47] it to my desktop. Then I'm going across
[03:49] to WordPress Studio. And with WordPress
[03:51] Studio now, you can start a site just
[03:53] using a blueprint. Thank you so much for
[03:55] watching and have a really happy
[03:56] Christmas. I hope you found that video
[03:58] useful. If you did, if you can hit the
[03:59] like button, it'd be great because it
[04:00] makes a huge, huge, huge difference in
[04:02] terms of how many people actually get to
[04:04] see this video. And also, every time you
[04:05] do hit that like button, our cats get a
[04:08] little treat.
[04:22] If you want to see more videos like
[04:23] this, hit that subscribe button and
[04:24] you'll be notified every time I release
[04:26] a new one. Thanks again. and keep well
[04:28] and I'll see you soon.
